I’ve never seen black widow. I’m not a marvel fan. But i keep seeing clips of this scene. And without knowing any context, it’s absolutely brilliant. The implications are masterful. Kate is very clearly a little inexperienced and naive, but she’s not stupid. And Yelena seems to be very well aware of this. So she puts up this bonding front but drops it quickly when Kate calls her out. But she dropped it without blinking an eye. Because clearly she doesn’t care that Kate can see through her. Which somehow makes Yelena more terrifying. These are obviously two very smart women. But Yelena clearly has the upper hand in this scene.
