This movie is so underrated! So many memorable songs! And Don Bluth's animation of the dragon was incredible!!

I sang this song out LOUD maybe 30 times on a recent road trip. Loved it more each time.

What an awesome blast from the past!

I went loads times to see Petes Dragon at my local cinema. I had the movie soundtrack with all the songs on it. Sadly the cinema was closed and demolished but the cinema held a lot of fond memories for me. It gave me my love for cinema and my 1st job when I left school was i trained to be a Cinema Projectionist. I loved the job. My hobby was film making and to work with the bigger projectors and get a wage was just brilliant

They built a real -working' Lighthouse just for the movie, in Montana...and still only spent $10 million making this film......take that CGI

Wonderful movie, great songs. Helen Reddy was a great singer, I was lucky enough to see her on stage,and she was fabulous

If you notice, all 3 of them change clothes when coming down from the lighthouse and Nora has washed the paint off of her hands.

It is heard when Nora, Pete, and Lampie including her boyfriend later husband Paul work together in painting and cleaning the lighthouse and then ending reprise song.

“Ride higher and higher and glide above the clouds!” My favorite part. 😊

I first watched this while I was staying with my grandmother!! Every time I watch the movie or listen to soundtrack… I think of my grandma!!!!

Mickey Rooney rest in peace

I can totally picture Ariel, Rapunzel from Tangled, Cindy Bear, Sawyer from Cats don’t dance, Jewel from Rio, King Trition, Geppetto, Bagheerah, Rafael also from Rio, Arthur/Wart from The Sword in the Stone, Mowgli, Oliver from Oliver and Company, Simba and Mort from Madagascar singing this together.

This was my all time favorite Disney movie when I was an Adolescent. This song and the song “It’s not easy” with Helen Reddy and Sean Marshall are still two of my most endearing memories from my late childhood. I’d sing It’s not easy to my own kid and grandkids over and over. And R.I.P Helen Reddy, Mickey Rooney and Shelly Winters. Irreplaceable.

Pete's Dragon was not my favorite of Disney's movie list. But I have grown to really appreciate the heck out of it. I never seen the remake version of it, nor do I feel tempted to. The magic of the original cannot be recreated.
