This is Day 52 and I think it’s time to put this song to bed. After not playing piano too seriously since finishing my ARCT, it felt good to work on something challenging and rewarding.
Special thanks to Heart of the Keys and Rousseau for their performances on RUclips which inspired me to give this song another crack. In fact, I was considering playing this for my ARCT exam but landed on something else instead. This was a challenging piece and I had some frustrating practice moments (not shown) but in the end I’m quite satisfied with what I was able to accomplish. I’m open to any song recommendations for future series but I will probably be taking a step back from...

Felt like trying to go fast tonight. Unfortunately the musical touch gets a bit lost so I know I’m not fully ready yet but it was fun to challenge myself tonight. Focus is on tomorrow now.

Felt slightly heavy, but oddly more clean today. Got absolutely bagged from running and PT earlier today so that might be why. Still felt good about the practice session. Back at it again tomorrow.

For a first time full run through, I’ll take it, but it’s not quite yet up to standard. Close,but not yet. Also debut of the new shirt I bought from the trip. Always nice when something you want is on sale.

Got home pretty late from the trip and was feeling tired so I decided to slow it down a touch tonight to keep it clean. Got a solid half hour or so of practice in and I’m quite happy with it. Gonna wrap this puppy up soon.

I practiced the most today than I have in 4 years since I kept screwing up a part I thought I had mastered. It’s an incredibly frustrating feeling. This is actually my second time practicing today because I had to go to the gym to blow off steam after I kept screwing up during the first session. Gotta be better tomorrow.

Nice Job! How many hours do you practice a day. And also, can you learn ballade no 1 chopin
@@BeatingRobloxGames thanks for the support! Usually I aim for minimum 30 minutes but if I’m feeling good, I’ll sometimes go for an hour to an hour and a half. Also, Ballade No. 1 is a great song and I love listening to it, but I don’t think I’ll be able to dedicate enough time to practice consistently since schools starting up again. Maybe one day I’ll tackle any Chopin Ballade, let alone No. 1.

@@brian_piano funnily enough, I was actually looking at the sheet music for Aeolian Harp the other day. Doesn’t look too bad but making the music and melody come out will definitely be challenging. Also, my hands aren’t the biggest by any means so the wrist motion and technique will be some work. Definitely will keep it in mind!
@@brendanwang3277 no way I have that same situation xd. For someone with similar sized hands I’m forced to do insane leaps to crack the high notes in the right hand 😭

This is pretty clean! But the melody is mostly in the left hand at the beginning and I don't hear it enough! This is great though, I could always listen to this!

Is this the real sage of 6 paths?
Great performance! I found your channel through the Pathetique Sonata video as that’s what I’m studying right now (I’ve finished 1st and 2nd mvts for now). Would you recommend attempting this etude after the Pathetique? I want to approach chopin etudes but I’ve never studied any. I was thinking maybe op 25 no.1 too (aeolian harp)
Thanks for stopping by! The Pathétique Sonata was a few years ago so hopefully I've progressed since then hahaha. If you're playing the Pathétique, I definitely think this song is difficult, but doable! I actually haven't played Op. 25 No. 1, but the wrist motion and technique will probably take some practice and from what I've heard, once you get that down, it's one of the "easier" Chopin Études and still sounds lovely!

Grands have better key action, but most pianos are good enough (for practising, that is)

@@azxriel7172 the biggest piece of advice I can probably give is to practice a little bit, consistently, every day. The every day part is the hard part. Start slow, trying not to miss a single note, then gradually speed it up. Good luck!

@@ruscaryt4480 thanks for the kind words! I actually love how heartofthekeys plays it and that’s where I drew inspiration from! I played for years and took it less seriously for the last 3-4 years, but recently got surgery so I had a lot of spare time on my hands!
