I'm less concerned about what special color they have on loot and more concerned about the balancing and stat deviation as a major issue with BL3 is that legendary gear has very little stat deviation while also having just much better stats as well. It resulted in BL3 having a lot of loot on paper buy the reality was such much more was junk to the point it felt like it had less.

I guess the main thing I would want from a Borderlands MMO or "live service" game is continued content releases rather than having to wait 5-7 years for new games. But to make a good MMO requires a ton of effort - probably more than most people realize, and I'm not sure that would be a risk 2K (which now OWNS Gearbox) would be willing to take. I can easily enough see a "live service" version of Borderlands, especially since 2K likes live service games.

I would absolutely have answered NO to that tweet poll. But that said, I do not believe you are correct when you say that Randy could greenlight a project like this because he's the GB CEO. Every Borderlands game has been funded by (i.e. published by) 2K Games. Gearbox, as a developer, very likely doesn't have a spare $100M+ just laying around to pay for the development of a new AAA MMO. Randy would have to pitch this to 2K, and sell them on the game to get that funding. Which maybe he has done. But I really hope not. Look how much Fallout 76 has gotten in the way of future development at Bethesda. An MMO released in the next 3-4 years would delay a Borderlands 5 for that 3-4 years, so we'd be lucky to see a Borderlands 5 before 2031 or 2032 at earliest.

Love the mmo idea could be the different spin borderlands needs. A marketplace economy is a scary thought the game would become very toxic, but it would bring back old school collecting

I’m not a big fan of MMO games it’s just dumb that you have to be connected to the Internet 24 seven to play it that’s why I’m more of a single player gamer I think the only multiplayer kind of games I like is call of duty and Halo infinite Star Wars battlefront the classic ones, not the new ones like battlefield two is pretty good the new one but overall, I’m super excited for borderlands 4

I want a borderlands-like arpg. like topdown looter-shooter much like diablo. maybe a spin off story with tons of loot and endgame progression and an indepth skill tree!

i would not mind it being similar to the first descendent. lots of different characters 3 action skills 1 ultimate ability sounds good. them adding lots of horizontal activity's like fishing and having large hubs would be cool. i think they would need to change it to 3erd person

The gameplay and systems of the Borderlands games ALREADY lend themselves to MMO-style games. On the other hand Gearbox has a history of issues with hosting stable servers. Wouldn't take much effort at all to create something substantial. They've already showed some promising efforts with the rotating events and such in BL3 and Wonderlands. (I assume on WL, as I wasn't a big fan) Kinda hopeful, actually. Seems like it has alotta potential.

As long as there isn’t locked Season Passes that expire when the season is over I’m okay with it. Like what Rivals just did for example, they have season passes but you can still keep earning it after the season is over

The only thing rogue-like I play is Warframe's Duviri paradox. Otherwise, everything I hear about the genre just sounds annoying or toxic. Die, start over from the beginning? Nah. My brother says he played Hades and that it's actually good, but roguelike just sounds nothing like what I wanna deal with. Played a few demos and it's just not my thing.

Hot take: Leveling gear you want to keep. Yeah, I know the game is about the "gazillion guns" and grinding, but if I find something I like, I should be able to keep it relevant until I find something better. Also, I don't bother grinding for builds until we reach the last unlocked level (usually after the last DLC, so waiting a year) before I decide to grind anything.
