People keep saying this is about like- nostalgia- which I understand, but it’s about the after life and religious beliefs I think, personally it reminds me of how I’m atheist and had lived and went to a catholic school, not my choice, but I remember feeling isolated from my friends because they were extremely religious. It made it so hard for me to figure out who I was, and when I did confess to a girl I was shot down and it got out about it, and I was being told by literally almost all my friends and also everyone who I didn’t know that it was a sin. I felt fucking hurt. And scared. So this song reminds me that yes, it reminds me of nostalgia but it reminds me that the religious beliefs others have is something that I can respectfully listen to but I don’t have to feel pressured to ‘join’ their beliefs.

This song makes me feel like a kid again, like when you first discover an amazing thing in life.

Not gonna lie this song brings out the worst and best parts of me. All the memories of a simpler time, when I had not to bear such a burden, the burden of performance to be good and strong all the time. To be free to just chill with my friends on the porch of my house laughing away at silly things, to just exist without a single worry in the world, to think that you're immortal just like everyone else. You are innocent to the harsh reality of life where one day you wake up to the last day of this freedom, the worst part being you don't know that is the last day of it, then "life" starts and with it, a lot of pressure and responsibilities are thrown at your way, making you stuck in a sea of endless problems that when you fix one two more take its place, now when you stop to just chill your mind is overrun with these same problems making you a slave to your own responsibilities. Then you realize that you can't go to your mother to vent, nor your pops since well you're an adult now it is expected that you figure things out on your own. So you're forced to just gulp everything down while taking a proverbial wood log to the *ss, all the while having to maintain appearances of being strong and competent. God I had so much but I never noticed, if I knew that 2012 would be the last time I would be really free, I would take every opportunity to enjoy that moment with the people now I so dearly miss. The truth is that is not nostalgia that I feel, but simply grief of losing my innocence and freedom of the burden of performance, to be honest with what I'm feeling and what I want to do. I hate being an adult, I hate what society and others expect of me, I just wish I could live one of those days again, just a day is all I need to have some relief.

There seems to be so much sadness here. Though, whatever people go through here, there is hope in Christ. There is no such thing as a "perfect" life, except the life of Christ. Thus, I come to let everyone know whoever reads this comment, that Christ is coming soon. God, in His infinite mercy, sent Christ down to be in our place on the cross. We, deserving of death, do not deserve His mercy. We deserve hell because we have broken God's law (The 10 commandments). If you've ever lied, stolen, looked with lust, or even said His name in vain, you deserve hell. God is not only a God of love, but a justful God like we have judges here. He will give you the due penalty you deserve. Being a "good person" will not save you, nor grant you heaven. There is no way to save ourselves. It is as Rom 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is in Christ Jesus our Lord." and Eph 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." However, we can be saved from hell by trusting in Christ like we would with a parachute. Why else would you put on a parachute, if you were in the air? Your motivation would be a healthy fear. So, to put on Christ you must repent, and trust in Him alone. Not your good works, but in Him alone. We do not know when we will die, whether in several years, or today will be the day. Please remember this and take this into consideration.
