Thanks to @unparallelled.inc for the front bumper footage. s13 not making a very competitive grip/race car but is lots of fun! dont think Ive had this much fun while having this many problems in a race before. Am keen to get it setup on decent coil overs, tyres and brake setup and try and get some reliability out of it. I think it has the potential to be pretty fast.

Fun run is a series of races that group the cars by the fastest time, group C is 1:31.0 at central or higher. Up till this race if you qualified faster than the groups cap of 1:31 you are bumped into the next faster group. However this time they changed the rules and you could qualify as fast as you like and its only the race you werent allowed to go faster than 1:31.0 in... I didnt catch that ...

Struggled all day with grip, not sure if tyres were off, or setup was wrong or just running out of talent. But car seemed to have both oversteer into the corners and then understeer out. But was good fun even though both front fenders copped damage :-/ Enough points over the 7 rounds for the championship win in N1 class for 2023 :)

Using my N1 spec eg6 at circafesta, only regulations are 1600cc and tyre type. one class radials and one class "S" tyres. All engine, aero and gearbox mods open. So stock engine, gearbox and diff ratio gives me a pretty bad handicap.

R35 vs 991 GT3 vs Corvette Z06 vs Lan Evo vs EG6 K24 Struggled with setup on the Vette, didnt get a clear lap in Quali and struggled with understeer the whole race. Made for a a lot of fun battles thoguh.

Round 5 and aim was to take it easy and podium if possible to just secure championship points. turned into a decent race... no trouble with the car for the first time in a while which was nice.

What a shocking day, car ran fine all the way to the track, go out for practice and on first lap it starts missing heavily and engine dies. Replace ECU, Distributor, Main Relay (still suspect) but also fuel pressure looks low... but no spare oem fuel pumps on hand so had to jury rig a bosch pump to work and made a mess of it with heavily leaking fuel tank and poor fuel pick up being the result....

Did well in practice in wet conditions, but course dried out for qualifying and I couldnt get a clear lap and qualified 3rd. Was meant to be using the EG6 for this race, but had crashed it the previous week in the Zerofighter N1 race. So the FD2 family truckster was up! Unfortunately was meant to get moved to a slower class but that didnt happen so the FD2 was severely out gunned.

Was planning to run the FD2 with some Kumho V730 tyres for this race but forecast 100% rain and heard the V730s were pretty average in the wet and had some aging Dunlop 03G S5 tyres (good for wet) going to waste on the EG6 so entered the EG6 instead. Thought the EG6 would be an easy win especially after practice being 2-3 seconds faster than the rest of the field... however rain really started ...

N1 race in the EG6, was fastest in Practice but car was pretty loose and difficult to string a whole lap together and botched the qualifying so started 2nd in class. Dont have a lot of spare time these days so combined the corvettes shakedown with a proper race so could experience both at the same time. Very different car to drive than the civics. Heavy and not a lot of steering wheel feel. looks like so much fun. how do the classes work? tire and weight to power?
used to be engine type and tyre size, but I think my vette broke that a bit as NA and above 16" tyre size it was way too fast. So they changed it this year to times, have to nominate a time you wont be faster than and that is your group. If you go faster than your nominated group time then you are disqualified. Diamond class is no minimum time, Platinum was 1:25, gold 1:30.
It was great seeing you put it on the edge on corner exits, it looks like a spicy unit. Great work putting distance between you and the GTR once you got around. I have to say though, decades of parts dealing, countless S13 parts must have passed through your hands, and you're rocking the brown dash!
Haha yeah honestly not a fan of the zenki brown interior but now its so old people seem to love it. I never bothered changing it as drifting often has crashes and reshells and its a pain in the arse job.

Just came from a long vacation roadtrip and just checking RUclips i found a new video of you, fucking awesome as always!. Loved the sound of the engine, this was Nissan peak chassis and engine, for me there's no better 4cyl sound than the SR20 NA or Turbo.
did you change the suspension setup at all, or is it still crazy camber? loved seeing this though! the s13 sounds so good!

@@ItsMarkBernardo engine is 2.1 litre HKS engine with td06 SH 8cm turbo. makes about 400hp or so on low boost. Suspension is Spirit 14kg / 12kg (and now with more grip spec alignment with -3.5 front and -2 rear camber which has really improved front end grip, rear still needs dialing in.

@@JesseStreeter I've got a triple suction cup mount but still get vibrations through the camera. It's pretty small mirrorless camera too. Did you dampen it somehow?
@@potater6163 they are getting pretty outdated now but the sony action cams are so good for this type of filming, their stabilization is the best. I temporarily went to Go-pro (hero 8) but it was just junk. So I still use the old sony action cams.

This is awesome! Glad to see the S13 get some love & abuse! Is the S13 going to be your new circuit warrior while Snow-White is down? Also wish they had more events like this in north america, been looking at properties in rural Japan a lot recently, thinking about packing up ship my stuff & moving there since theres so many amazing track's in such a decent drive whereas the US & Canada its drive 1500+ miles for some good tracks & some good events 🤘
club racing here is plentiful and cheap. Is good. Corvette back, s13 still out. Summer now though so races slow down a bit and its more mountains.

well spotted, the N1 regulations is stock diff ratio and stock gears. that corner really sucks for the eg6 as its right inbetween. you can down shift but it buzzes the engine and the slight extra power it gives causes the car to understeer and run wide. So its really borderline which is faster (2nd or 3rd) on that corner, so I tend to use 3rd as its easier on the car.

The handling is less than ideal because you are wearing 275/295 tires when the better setup is 285/335
That would be great if those tyre sizes were available in japan, is also the reason the car runs slicks in the other races it does which dont have regulation of radial tyres needed 👍 As is the vette was so fast in its class in this series I stopped entering them as it was boring with easy pole position to checker each time.
