I’m a new subscriber and I am the 100th like! 🎉❤
Not sure how I feel about people doing this - I sure hope you leave land as you found it and didn’t mess up much land - and packed out what trash you brought in - Not sure about this at all
That's a rock dude
I lived in NC for ten years i used to find all kinds of giant rubies when i was a teenager. The property we owned was full of them. Had i known what i was digging up and playing with i would probably have a nice savings account.😂😂 Most of what i found got sold in a storage auction. Could not afford the bills after becoming homeless 😢
You said it's only found there
I'm sorry the video said it's only found there
We have been there as well, we found some amazing pieces!
Which is better, Crabtree or Emerald Hollow mine?
I think Emerald Hollow is better. Pretty much can't leave there without being able to find something good.
Thanks brother!
bring a squirt bottle to wet the rocks make the colors pop
That's a great idea. I'll definitely bring one next time.
Hiddenite is found all over the world dude. Check your info
It’s not, only confirmed in a less than a handful of countries. And those countries, I can’t say would be rockhounding friendly like Australia
Can you share a location to find them?
I’m in stony point neighboring town I live a couple minutes from the mine and the river runs behind our property and the biggest finds there are quartz and garnets and sometimes other crystals
I grew up in hiddenite and my property has a huge quartz and goshenite vein you can literally look down in the driveway and pick up crystals
Invite us over lol
Aww bean is so cute!!! What breed is he?
He is a Chinese Crested. I agree, he's amazing.
@Digging Outdoors aww no wonder I like him lol my dog Lily is a chihuahua/Chinese crested mix! A bit spoiled for sure. She's 12.5 years old.
Next time both you and your wife use a pick and pick pick pick and pick then talk . Just maybe you will do better
Nice , we hit the quarrys with the club we have ware hard hats orange vest and steel toed shoes
he is cute the little dog
Guau excellent find. New Friend.
Score! Of a lifetime! Retirement soon get super busy busy busy! If you don’t get it someone else will!!!!!! Go back get more hurry!
Heck yeah! I love going to Haunted Ridge!
They go out every morning and seed the creek with gemstones.Big ripoff.Your best bet for gem mining is Diamond Hill mine in South Carolina.
Dude next time I go I’m not bring any tools but a rake
Great finds, I’ve been trying to make time to go after some of that Georgia stuff
Heck yeah. It shouldn't be too far from you.
We had the name of that place, but kinda forgot, you said it was in Summerville but what is the name of that quarry? If it’s the same one we were thinking of it was about 4-5 hours from us
Our rock club is taking a trip there soon!!! I’m giving away a couple of pieces that I polished
Going to be super hot but i will be there in two weeks … hot and dry the county is in an severe drought:(
Be careful and bring tons of water.
This is such an epic location! So similar to Missouri 👍🏼
Y'all put too much in the pan. You should be able to use the handles and swirl the pan in the water put about 4 scoops in and go through it. Then repeat
If you are close to Nashville I can tell you where to get more
🇵🇷🤲🇨🇺
The creek is where you stand a chance of finding gems. Just keep in mind that it is salted like the buckets for sale at the sluices. Fun for the kids, but not serious rockhounds.
Not always the case i went down the creek and looked under a large rock and found a huge smoky quartz crystal, and lots of smaller points. Just have to know where to look in the creek.
There's a spot up river where it's salted specifically for educational groups, but the rest of it is natural, save for some crystals that naturally get washed down over time from the educational area
I still haven’t decided if emerald hollow would be worth the drive, thanks for the video
Beautiful creek!!
SWEET
Yo!!! I was here 👍🏼 We should hang out sometime
Heck yeah! I'll let you know when we're in town again. Should be in the spring. 👍
How is the weather hiddenite year-round? I am thinking about move to there
I'm not too sure. I live in Middle Tennessee. I do know they get a good taste of all the seasons.
They are open seasonally, if I remember. The creek feels amazing on a hot summer day. Bring swimwear, especially water shoes or better yet neoprene boots so your feet can stay a bit warmer in the really cold water. We were shaded enough that we didn’t need sunscreen. Highly recommend bug spray though. This is a great place to find stuff. The harder you work, the more you find. I found an amazing sapphire and emerald on our first trip.
They typically close from Oct to Feb cause... NC... Cold
I grew up and live in hiddenite it's hot and humid in the summer and cold and rainy in the winter but small area and the only big store around that everyone in the county shops at is a small ass wallmart trust me alexander county isn't worth it stay to hickory or wilkes
Good job!!! Good work.....
Thank you!
Beautiful
Isn't the creek seeded there?
The small creek is. The bigger one isn't.
@@DiggingOutdoors what does "seeded" mean?
Seeded means that the land owners toss in previously collected rocks and minerals to increase your chances of going home with something nice. Sometimes they are native varieties, but they don't have to be. It also keeps the place from being "picked out". I don't mind seeded locations as long as they don't try to hide the fact that it is seeded.
That’s awesome
Frank and Kendall are super nice people, and great miners!!
Did you visit the Crater of Diamonds while in Arkansas?
Unfortunately not yet. It's on my list for next spring.
@@DiggingOutdoors sweet. Be sure to look me up when you plan a trip, maybe we can swap mining stories and such😬
ya we got amazing stuff, rockhounded all my life, and never seen such a place where everywhere you look you see it like that, its unreal even at the rivers, ya there's rocks, but not like that lol
we'v been a few times, now, i cannot say enough about the owners/staff, amazing ppl, next time you go, ask him to take you to the lace agate area :) you think the stuff you got today was cool, wait til you see that area :) we were down in the hollar the first time, took 10 buckets, then we went for the cc dig also, took home another 10
Sweet! It sounds like you really hit it big. I can't wait to go back in the spring.
We just moved to NC few weeks ago. Hope to bring the family up there to have a good time.
You really should. I definitely recommend going in the heat of the summer. That way you all can relax in the creek like we did. 👍
@@DiggingOutdoors For sure, it's only an 1hr drive so that's a plus lol
NC is a great state I lived there for about 11 years
Sorry to say but music way too loud and irritating and camera needs to be closer to be able to see your crystals well. Glad you had a good trip and found some crystals 👍😊
Thanks for the constructive feedback 👍. I'll be sure to keep your suggestions in mind for future videos. Thanks for watching!
I have been wishing to mine a gems but I never been I just buy some gems but mining still the best experience do you think so
I love mining / rock hounding. I love being outdoors, learning, and just taking the time to unplug and relax. It's good for my soul 😌 🙏
Can YOU make a video of digging blue topaz
Ooh, that would be fun.
Emerald is the best gems ever because I have ruby and diamonds or sapphire but emerald is still a best one
I agree, Emerald is probably my most favorite. 👍

Bean is a cool dog!
