    I lived in NC for ten years i used to find all kinds of giant rubies when i was a teenager. The property we owned was full of them. Had i known what i was digging up and playing with i would probably have a nice savings account.😂😂 Most of what i found got sold in a storage auction. Could not afford the bills after becoming homeless 😢

      They are open seasonally, if I remember. The creek feels amazing on a hot summer day. Bring swimwear, especially water shoes or better yet neoprene boots so your feet can stay a bit warmer in the really cold water. We were shaded enough that we didn’t need sunscreen. Highly recommend bug spray though. This is a great place to find stuff. The harder you work, the more you find. I found an amazing sapphire and emerald on our first trip.

      @@DiggingOutdoors what does "seeded" mean?

    • @DiggingOutdoors
      @DiggingOutdoors 2 года назад

      Seeded means that the land owners toss in previously collected rocks and minerals to increase your chances of going home with something nice. Sometimes they are native varieties, but they don't have to be. It also keeps the place from being "picked out". I don't mind seeded locations as long as they don't try to hide the fact that it is seeded.

      I have alot at my place in eastern Burke county. I've found a bunch garnets a 8 carot emerald that was low quality and some gold flakes when I started construction of my private shooting range. I just don't know how to read the earth as I dig. Maybe something big I just don't know? I found two low quality diamonds at my mother and father's house nearby that was one a active volcanic mud pit perhaps millions of years ago when I was digging a well for their garden when I was a teenager. We also picked up a good dump truck of pumice out of where we made the garden when I was a kid. Interesting geological anomalies around here.
