Wilde Pferde von Truck Stop - Learn German with Aaron: Country Music. Lerne Deutsch durch die Musik
This video was produced by a special request from a colleague who teaches German language and literature! Studying Karl May, a German author who wrote imaginative stories about the American West, Prof. Tanya wanted her students to hear and learn a bit of Country-Musik aus Deutschland! Truck Stop is one of the most celebrated country bands in Germany and so I picked this song because of the catchy tune and its use of vocabulary that reflects a fascination with the Wild West!

German can be a bit complicated with it's six words for "the", but here I will lay it out for you and give examples of each with a short explanation why. Considering there are four cases: Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive and then four Genders (noun classes): Masculine Singular, Feminine Singular, Neuter Singular and Plural, it could be worse. Correction: Wall = die Wand (-"e) - plura...

    In reference to your subject, in Sanskrit (and modern Hindi) there are non-aspirated and aspirated consonants, the latter transliterated as rh, bh, th, etc. (there is no theta sound). The symbols for each version of these consonants are completely different and that is why there are 46 letters in the Sanskrit alphabet (and a pain to learn!) Also, there are three different 'r' and three 'l' sounds, depending on where the tongue is placed. Many more sound possibilities in Sanskrit.

    • @aaronbarksdale-burns5194
      @aaronbarksdale-burns5194 4 года назад

      Wow, that's really great to read, thank you for sharing! I know about different r and l sounds, but not written with three different letters. It takes some practice to hear the differences between some of those sounds, I'll bet.
