the thing about gay in Philippines is they're often associated with humour. majority of comedian's in the country dressed-up like gays to be funny while gays in America is the embodiment of hatred they're always angry.

My teacher once said, "The queer community is culturally celebrated but politically discriminated." Until now, I have never seen any truer words than that. This led me to start learning about the history of the queer and drag community here. Now, a lot of people have no idea about the history of the LGBT community in general in the Philippines. Thank you for shedding a light on this important topic. I love the content!

For a lot of foreigners Drag Race PH was their first glimpse at authentic Filipino culture and even hearing the way we speak in blended English was really surprising to them. ❤ Mabuhey Drag Race!!

As far as I know, the EQUALITY that the LGBTQ+ community in the Philippines in the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s does not strive to the exact same EQUALITY concept that the Western counterpart has in this day. Neither the SOGIE bill (a poor copycat "again" of Western laws) is what we need and want in the Philippines. This bill if put into law will just destroy us as a Filipino community in general given our own set of morals and values which are totally different from the Western counterpart.

They were housed together during the competition and they posted weekly videos about their lives where they show their chaotic and authentic selves. It also shows on their concerts. And that's what people loved about them the most.
