this is so unrelated to the video, but i wanna start off by saying i absolutely love your voice! but yeah, john mayer is honestly an interesting individual, and there are many good takeaways for any young artists on the come-up, but so many things that can be avoided by using him as a compass to avoid a lot of controversy. amazing video, by the way. <3
What I am thinking lately is am I naturally depressed, or John Mayer has made me depressed? The sentimental part of his songs makes me obsessed, I just dive too deep into it. I start isolating myself from the common society which I found dull. But such obsession also depress me in another way that I realize that I can never be as convoluted and as perceptive as him, this makes me discouraged. It is like a feedback loop, that looping over and deeper in this depression swirl. But if you ask me do I want to get out of it? Answer probably is no. It is painful but I feel alive in my own world
Your videos are amazing. Definitely filling a hole of what’s not being talked about in popular media, with a depth not heard before. Looking forward to more!!
The Carlin quote you're looking for is this: "When you're born into the world, you get a ticket to the freak show. When you're born in America, you get a front row seat."
RFK jr. complains about anti-Communist Franco of Spain. Franco & Pinochet of Chile were the most accomplished anti-Communists of the 20th century. RFK Jr. did a few brave things in health field but he is just another sellout to TPTB. Spain had a very prosperous period after avoiding participation in WW2. The communists of USA never forgave Franco or any anti-Communist. USA was a closet communist country since McKinley assassination.
Thanks - you've given me things to look more into.
@14:00 i like both Zendaya and Timothee, but in terms of mass appeal - they cannot compete with the likes of the 2000s and before like JLo, Ben Affleck etc. Zendaya reflects a time now when actresses are seen as brands and she is more a fashionista. The movies that both she and Timothee have starred in have been remakes etc. Zendaya did Challengers recently but its one of her few original movies. Its a weird time for Hollywood and the movies.
Yes, I feel like that mega, global stardom that was attainable up to like 10 or so years ago is out of reach for most (if not all) entertainers starting today.
Pretty good video - I agree, people latch onto a handful of things a person does or says and demonizes that person for eternity. Everyone lives in the gray. Not black and white…not good or bad. People are nuanced beings, an ebb and flow on the spectrum of the duality of man. Anyone who judges someone so surely of their own perception are usually the lowest common denominator of society. They don’t have the self-awareness to understand they, themselves, are the same or worse as a person.
she has one of the worse fan bases ive ever seen they just lie and make stuff up about people its very weird also taylor to me has always had a ton of talent and potential but for some odd reason has never lived up to it i think she might rush and put too many songs out at a time i mean there was over 30 songs on this last one and just some songs dont feel completely finished like there almost good but almost isnt good but theres still some good stuff like i dont know why she doesnt take her time and just keep the best and throw out the rest if she just took the best like 10 songs an made that as the album she could be making some amazing albums but they just feel kindve ok to me she doesnt have an actual classic but i feel if she took her time she could create her blood on the tracks type album maybe not to that level but still idk if im the only one who feels that way as it seems like everyone says every song she makes is a masterpiece but to me theres just too much filler in the albums and in the songs them selves
There were a few reviews of her latest album that said she needed an editor - like you said, there was a lot of filler (and also a lot of repetitive, predictable work from Jack Antonoff). Part of me thinks this might be due to streaming and people no longer wanting or feeling like they have to put in the effort to make a tight, cohesive album. And then the other part of me thinks there was something impulsive about this release from an emotional standpoint. Many of the songs just felt like spoken word almost - like she wanted to get out what was on her mind and didn't really care to polish the project. If someone can do that and still break records, it's her...but I think there is stuff that she's done in the past that will have a more lasting value than what she released this month.
@@MediaFiguredom i actually dont just think that about this album but many of hers and i think her as aa whole will obviously live on but i dont think theres 1 piece that stands out that can be called a classic or a masterpiece i know to her fans some might be but its always gonna be a nostalgia thing even in her early work theres too much filler folklore and evermore are both good albums but if she just threw out the filler and combined all the good songs into one she wouldve had a great album but instead there just 2 decent to good ones
An older artist said something just like this in the press recently - that there isn't that one classic hit that she has that will stand the test of time. I can't remember who it was. I love a lot of her stuff, but, honestly, I'm at that point in my life where I look to the distant past for music. I used to think older generations were full of it when they would talk about how much greater the music they listened to was, but as I've gotten older I realize they were right. That kind of timeless quality that artists used to have vanished after a certain point. We can thank the music industry for that, I guess 😎
@@MediaFiguredom oh lol im glad im not the only one then and yeah i was the same when i was younger too but there are still some artist now just not many taylor feels like she should be though but just isnt also if you have never listen to blood on the tracks by bob dylan its an amazing album although i know dylans music isnt for everyone i wasnt into him at first either but he quickly became one of my favourites
Bob Dylan is on my list of artists to research - he probably didn't get the Nobel in Literature for his songwriting for no reason 🤠
It is the cult of woke brainwashers that is killing culture. Some of them signalling Satanism/Occult doesn't help either, but it has been a thing since Led Zeppelin, Bowie etc etc.
Barriers to entry are falling. Control of distribution is dying. Audiences are splintering into a billion pieces. Its hard to create super-stars in such an environment. Entertainment companies can no longer push stars onto us like they used to be able to because unlike TV and Radio, the internet is accessible to everyone. As a record exec or TV producer, you are now competing with your neighbors 17 year old who has access to the same distribution and tools that you do. But his begs the question: perhaps super-stars were super-stars precisely because they got to be on TV and Radio in an environment where only the 'chosen' were picked by gate-keepers to influence our culture and not because they were actually interesting...
Love your comment - I've thought about this multiple times. Several of these huge traditional superstars, many people can see, aren't the most talented people out there. Many times, they are where they are because they were willing to do things other people would never be ok doing (anyone who has researched the music or movie industry knows what kind of things) or they had the right industry connections that they later try to hide or downplay. This isn't always the case, but I'm glad some people today can make it more independently without having to go through the gatekeepers you bring up.
Honestly, I'd much rather people obsess over music artists than over political commentators and influencers. At best influencers do almost nothing and get paid to do so and at worst the political influencers divide people and only create animosity and anger, all while they pretend to be saving the world as they do it. No wonder people are more miserable now then they were 20 years ago, when they spend their time obsessing over political nonsense that isn't actually doing anything to keep them informed and is just keeping them miserable. So yeah, I'd much rather people obsess over the artists that make them happier then obsess over these influencers who just spew outrage and misinformation and then have the gall to act like they're helping people. Quite sad that those are who people are looking up to nowadays.
I think it all comes down to value - we should all be asking ourselves, "What am I getting from listening to this music artist or following this political commentator?" You could make the argument that certain music artists are just as toxic and damaging to their followers like some of these influencers and commentators. Yes, sometimes we all just want to be entertained, but, after a certain point, we have to start thinking critically about what the people we spend time listening to are doing to us psychologically like you said in your comment. I agree with your sentiment.
It is interesting the term of "virtue signalling" is not used more often. Using pseudolanguage like DEI etc is a way of hiding the crooks.
GREAT VIDEO! 👏
pink floyd is the best band of all time, thats not even up for the question! the question of truth and poop!

Dakota Johnson couldn't be further from the truth. AI is going to absolutely dominate. I'm from way back and I'm all too eager to leave the current tripe from Hollywood where we are force-fed agenda. I'm very much on board for SORA-generated movies and SUNO performed songs.
Lady was dead wrong on people not liking ai content. Right now ai content is terrible at worst and mid at best. Ive been watching manwha/manga/anime recaps over the last year and i see these stories get hundreds of thousands of views per day. Channels pop up and hit 100k subs in months. Top tier videos might get 10-100m views over their lifetime and be 24 hrs long or somthing like that. All while its clearly a text to speech thats misgendering characters and saying stuff wrong. I wrote 50 pages of a creative novel in like 5 hours with chat gpt. Once people are able to mash stories together and generate new content at will. Its gonna be even harder to snatch someones attention away from their favorite stuff
Its to hard to get people they put in place to always do what they want. They need compture symbils for people to follow to gontrol the masses more quickly and inhumanly.
Its pretty shocking when you take a moment to think about the mega-ultra hits that have been blaring on tik tok a few years or even a few months ago. Chewed up, spit out, on to the next thing. Edit: Recently I'm worried that this very thing is happening to RUclips as well. Fantastic video producers are being presented to everyone's algorithim, but before they get real numbers and fame, they stop showing up to new viewers and new video producers are being presented.

All that you say may be true (and I have come across some of these facts that you reference in the press lately - I appreciate your comment), but many people are not using news outlets to make their assessments; they just go to the supermarket or walk around their cities to see the bigger picture of what's going on.
Not the legitimately real celebs, perhaps the flash in the pan social media created shooting stars.
Good job. Keep up the great work.
Sean Penn yapped how wonderful and successful Venezuela was. He ate that serving of crow with a side dish of dumb ass.
Yes, he was friends with Hugo Chavez. These kinds of celebrities always think of politics from the perspective of those in power, not those that are being ruled. They want their candidate or friend or “favorite” to get elected (like I was saying in the video about Bill Maher wanting Gavin Newsom to be president) and what happens to the average citizen under that person’s administration is an afterthought for them. Sean should visit Venezuela today...
What your take on taylor swift being able to increase the voter turn ou by 23% with one instagram post.Iv even heard say that a full detacated demoncrat campaign could maybe swingn an election which i doubt but its possible.
Yes, I heard about that, but I also read that if you really look at the stats, the pull that some outlets are saying Taylor has appears to be exaggerated. I originally had a section to this video talking about Taylor but decided to wait and see what she actually does. I think the most she can do is convince young people to vote. She's not convincing anyone to switch from red to blue. However, I do think the way she goes about it (if she gets involved) might be worthy of discussion.
Well said. I'm a Black woman and millennial. I would have been on the conservative side of things based on my morals from the start, BUT everyone was like don't you know that's the "Good Ole Boy's Club"? Of course, they meant Republicans are composed of and only work for White males. They weren't completely wrong, but every non-White person shying away from Republicans gives that side little reason to offer anything to help non-White groups because they feel like they're not getting our vote anyway. Trump changed that. That's why I'm team MAGA.
This also works the same way for the Democratic party - when they think they are guaranteed the votes of minorities no matter what, they have little incentive to do something different and to really put in the effort in offering people an actually better life.
It's a shame only 7 likes and only 215 views and zero comments. The narrator is dead wrong objecting to "shut up and dribble" sentiment. There is a HUGE difference between let's say ME giving commentary about a war or political topic and a celebrity. Here I am on the world's largest social platform or at least one of and only 215 people MIGHT read this. When you have a star being viewed by EASILY 25 million people all at once? Whomever the commentator is, PLEASE for the love of God do not ever encourage a famous person with a camera or a microphone to EVER open their mouth about reality or opinions about the world. PLEASE. They are the most out of touch and selfish narcissistic humans we've produced and they are at the TOP of that food chain and you want them to speak out and influence the largest and dumbest section of a population. PLEASE JUST STOP
I see what you're saying, but bad commentary from celebrities is not combatted by telling them to shut up (which hardly ever works). You have to counter it with more speech. Like I say in the video, I always want to know what the rich and famous want us to believe. Many celebrities are used by more powerful people to spread their message. In order to ward off potential manipulation, you need to know what the other side wants you to think.
@iguredom No, that is a fallacy. What the actual result is you enabling them. To me it's like if someone punches you and I say "Best to block" and you're saying "no that doesn't work. counter punch" Meanwhile you're just getting hit all day. The only thing you have in order to maintain your independent sovereignty is TO OBJECT. Why you're accepting of someone promoting fiction and condemn someone objecting to that intellectual dishonesty I am not going to attempt to understand here. I just know that either 1)You're not being straight with yourself about facts or 2)You support their position This all is evident with "I see what you're saying BUT" Then no you don't and your answer chiefly demonstrates that. That benign indifference you suggest is EXACTLY how Germany went from a bankrupt country to a fascist machine of genocide. Go ahead and by all means do you.. As for the "more argument" suggestion, that is accomplished outside of that incident or athlete. That is done by providing facts which debunk the fallacy of BLM or Global Warming. I for one will NEVER support anything anyone famous does with my silence. SHUT UP AND PERFORM is exactly what I will say to all of them. Those that understand this you don't need to tell them to shut up b/c they DO NOT WANT to wax political given that they are famous. Denzel W. and Morgan F. being 2 that come to mind. I would have LOVED it if one sinlge native American had started and grew the movement which cancelled a sports team identity. But it was not unfortunately that community. I like solving actual problems in my lfe. I do not entertain arguing fictitious problems in other people's lives and probably that's where we differ. I know for a fact and especially in sports, nobody wants a stadium of boos when they walk out on stage or on the field. You do that, then the BS stops. A great example is Bono. Also, they will cancel you or anyone in your group. It's your duty to cancel them.
Wow... you said it so beautifully, I wrote it down. As someone who experienced the exact opposite - being a high extrovert in a country of introverts, I experienced this completely in reverse, and went through the journey you described, where I thought I can mold myself to whatever is needed, and I never truly knew who I am and what I like, until I was very unhappy where I am and slowly things became more clearer to me, and I'm more happy than ever to "own it" in terms of who I am, even if it's 180 degrees to how people are around me Thank you for this video, and as a huge fan of Tim, I think you really hit bulls eye on what I thought about the whole situation too... I just wish he had a close friend in those dire times. Someone who would actually listen to him and tell him to go with what he believed was right, instead of all the "friends" he had alongside him that pushed him to do more shows and make more money. It makes me really sad and angry about people... if only he had that one or couple of friends, it could've been all very different... I really love this part of the video: "When we're young, we have this idea that we can bend your personality into what you want it to be, or what the circumstances or popular culture want it to be. But as we get older, we realize that there are some thing that are set in stone when it comes to the personality and who we are. And instead of going against these things, we learn much later that to achieve any sense of well being - we have to nurture these aspects of self"
USA! ,NO-RWaY! My two home countries which i fought and bled for and love 💕 above else the people there whom have done so much for me and where my beloved family lives and all my flames!!.. and some of my partners..😊
Your desire for a more “appreciative” celebrity is an interesting one , though I feel that just because Ms Mensah- Stock loves her country doesn’t mean she’s devoid of criticism for it. I think all of us love our country but not bc of some blind allegiance, but bc of our love for our fellow Americans. Vocalizing grievances, imo, is a representation of that love, not the opposite. There seems to exist far more suffering than prosperity at this moment . Sure that may be a matter of perception, but not unfounded. Great channel nonetheless ❤🙏🏿
Yes, I agree - I even say in the video, "To criticize your country is to ultimately love it." You can deeply love your country but still have serious issues with it (no matter what side you are on). There just needs to be, I think, a foundation of some pride and unity among the population for improvement, kind of like that quote I reference in the beginning says. I don't think celebrities directly saying things like "F you" to parts of their fanbase helps. 😇 Thank you for your kind words ❤️
Vocalising grievances/injustices etc is a good thing but clearly displaying hostility towards your own country without offering an alternative is indeed negative. I remember so many celebrities saying if so and so was elected President they would leave USA yet am yet to hear about one that did. Empty words and simple trash talk is negative and serves no useful purpose. If you have a grievance/fault about your country try to be part of the solution rather than just part of another problem. Cheers and have a good day/evening.
And it doesn't win over anyone from the opposing side to their side. It just keeps the echo chambers going. I don't understand why these huge public figures want that to be part of their story or "legacy." It might win them brownie points on social media in the short-term, but, in the long-term, it's just...meaningless, toxic, and immature.
I like Eminem for whatever that's worth. “The Eminem Show" is probably one of the first CDs I owned 😎-> ruclips.net/video/kcm8jQBQ6kg/видео.html 🙃His best song, though, is this Rick Rubin collaboration: ruclips.net/video/ab9176Srb5Y/видео.html - I just think these celebrities could do better, no matter what candidate they publicly throw their support behind. Also, I thought the date was included with the Eminem article in the screenshot, but it isn't - that Vice story is from 2017. The Cher story is from 2023.
I would argue it’s a Rick Rubin “collaboration.” Rick Rubin did not write Eminem’s lyrics or perform his vocals nor could he ever . You wouldn’t call a Beatles song a George Martin creation
You're right - I will correct. I'm waiting for Rick Rubin's book in the mail and got carried away :)
honestly havent liked anything from em since like 09 also have u seen chris stapleton sing the national anthem?
I agree Eminem's older stuff was much better, but I really liked the title-track on his Kamikaze album - though if you read the lyrics it does sound like "older rapper is about to yell at everyone." I will admit his pop culture references started getting cringeworthy after a certain point, which happens with age. I just looked up Chris Stapleton singing the anthem - I love it. I might have to check out his other stuff too, now.
@@MediaFiguredom yeah its part of why andre 3k said rap is a young mans game and retired and yeah chris stapleton is awesome hes a big name too surprised u didnt know him imo one of the best singers to have came out in idk how long also jimi hendrix version of the anthem is amazing if u havent heard it
I think it’s hard to understate just how detrimental blowing up a superstar at such a young age has on a person. What he said in those interviews was awful but he was a millionaire superstar with multi platinum records and Grammys at like 24. That to say he was going to say stupid awful shit because everyone says and does stupid awful stuff when your young, and the more successful you are the more likely it is to be wild because of the psychological effect that being in the spotlight has
I agree about the age thing - I'm pretty sure Bradley Cooper once said he was glad he got famous when he was like 36 because he was mature enough by then to handle it all.
I kept rewinding the video to try and understand it. It seems you are saying Green Day should have equal criticism of political parties. A couple of very important points here: punk has always and will always be political. That's why so many people get drawn towards it. Shit, I fell in love with Dead Kennedys in 1983 when "Nazi Punks Fu3k Off" came out. Ever see crusties with Crass patches sewn onto their jackets? Second, Green Day are not punk, and they have never been punk. Sure, you can call them "pop punk" but at the end of the day, the pop punk kids just use the term punk to try and catch wreck, which they don't. I encourage newcomers to punk to learn about bands like The Damned, Crass, D.O.A., Dead Kennedys, Subhumans, The Germs, Conflict, Charged GBH and countless others that pioneered what "punk" is about. It sure as shit isn't Green Day.
Perhaps that's how it came off, but I didn't mean equal criticism of the parties. I meant calling out the more establishment moves each party happens to make. Decades ago, the Republican Party was more establishment; now the Democrats are more so. (I really think there's a uniparty, but the way the two parties move is basically Democrats try to enforce certain things...and Republicans do the same but in a slower pace, less obvious way now). And I don't expect Green Day or any music artist to be sitting there and calling out everything, of course - that would be absurd. Just a little less of "calling out Republicans, while remaining silent on Democrats doing the exact same things." That's why I like Jello Biafra and John Lydon. (By establishment, I mean the agenda of Big Business, the military-industrial complex, government control over a population, corporate deregulation etc.). I will check out the bands you listed - thank you.
