Well, where do I start?... Firstly as an ancient 1990 male Qld squad member, first grade player, with a season in England, I can only say it's terrific to see you gal's getting out there and giving it a go, that's how I started. And having fun, keeping the tone low, and enjoying the day, well done. Having said that, it is clear to me that- 'bowling coach required'. Now they don't grow on trees I know, so that can often be about who is willing to put their hand up. I don't live anywhere sunshine coast, but if I did I would volunteer. What I can offer is that bowlers, focus firstly on practicing, and secondly having a good LINE and LENGTH foremost in your mind when running in to bowl any delivery. Line is the direction of the ball as in is it on the wickets, or also just outside off stump ideally, or not so a misdirected delivery. Length is where the ball bounces, either full or short. Ideally for you perhaps would be pitched up, only one bounce once, with the line above. Another valuable tip that I was given at a young age is to keep your bowling arm up nice and high, close to your ear when delivering the ball. ..I wonder what the former very good Qld bowler and a mate Brendon Creevy, or even Brendon Buckley are up to these days, they live up that way, we used to play against them when we played against Sandgate/Redcliffe. Irrespective the main thing is to get out there and give it a go and have fun with mates. Well done on that score, keep up the good work. Regards, Steve Veneris, Wynnum/Manly Sea Eagles.
