    Along side protection from the sun this is helpful because desert insects try to fly in your mouth/nose because of the moisture

      Afghan Lion Pretty much everyone in the desert wore it in their own way to protect themselves from the sun Why are u so triggered? Turbans are a very logical thing to put on in the desert Arabs wore it for more than three thousand years They wore it way before islam Plz stop being such a triggered idiot

    No the cloth is not thick material... Besides in the desert a slightly strong wind will send barrage of sand on ur face, so they need protection from that too

  • @AgrawSB

    Actually they wear all that stuff BECAUSE of the sunshine. if you don't dress well, the sunshine can cause health problems to you :) this is why usually in the Desert, people cover to the maximum.

    @halflife103 This clothing actually keeps you cool. It is very light. And when exposed to as much direct sunlight as you get in the desert, you have to cover your skin well like this or you will get horribly burned.

      I was about to say this is as much of a cultural thing as it is an "I don't want severe sunburn" thing the Berber/Tuareg people are literal badasses because they k ow how to not only survive but thrive in one of if not the harshest lands in the world

  • @kotapaka

  • @halflife103

    What i don't understand is how they can wear all that clothing and not be hot?. Would it not be cooler without all of it?. I just can't figure it out....

    @thedinerza It's difficult. A keffiyeh is a square shape and then it becomes pretty thick if you try to make it into a rectangle. There are other techniques that will give you a nice looking turban like this but it's more difficult than using a scarf in my opinion.

  • @NorthCitySider
    @NorthCitySider 13 лет назад

    @maleahjo1 The scarf is nice. Where can I find one? I live in Chicago.

  • @thedinerza
