March 26, Sunday we went to 2 spots, Bayview, and snake bridge. We caught a lot of cool trains and got lots of friendly crew! Hope you enjoy the video. Fantastic catches and horns!
You keep calling these trains 'Via', but they are Amtrack!
Once they cross the border they’re identified as VIA 98 (to Toronto), and VIA 97 (to New York). Because the Canadian part is VIA, but the actual train remains as an Amtrak train.

The crossing in the last sequence doesn't appear to have a crossbuck on one side! And I bet the crossing lights on the other side don't work either!

Very nice video. That ALCo sounds great. These branches are the lifeblood of the railway. Without these secondary lines there would be no traffic on the main lines.

I figured I’d tune in and find out about those new cars (I’ve seen around town .where they are from Hamilton? where they are going etc and how (rail route) but I guess this wasn’t the video to explain that.For some reason.
This can't be in Ontario. Norfolk Southern Railroad doesn't go across the border to Canada. Only Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Kansas City go to Canada. And yes, Canadian Pacific Railway & Kansas City Southern merged. It is called Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railway. Unless those are just Norfolk Southern Railroad cars.
This is in St Catharine’s Ontario. And NS Does go into Canada. It crosses the border in Fort Erie. I even have pictures of the NS Train in Fort Erie . I’m unsure what the train’s ID is but there is certainly a NS Train that comes into Southern Ontario.

Thanks for sharing this! It's getting hard enough to find 1st generation EMD road switchers, let alone Alcos. Judging by the tall radiator shutters, this is an RS-11.

I’m not entirely sure myself. I know this train comes every odd day to pick up few box cars and those NS Cars. I believe it’s Trillium.
