Original song by John Dixon McKee. It is important to always keep a guitar in the shop to fill that waiting time between coats of stain or waiting for glue to dry.

Curious about what this is used for.
A reflector oven is used for baking at a campfire. This particular one is designed to be light weight and foldable so it can be carried in a backpack. See video “Testing reflector oven” for how it is used.
@eyeheywhy1856 thanks.
Hmmmmm! This is the exact same first shape of guitar that came my way from inspiration, just 2 days back. I am looking to deviate from the vety regular shapes and i must say im pretty glad to see this shape here. I have no clear idea how it might impact on sound ehen im done but im dead interested in anything i feel inspired to create. Im new as a luthier. My Luthier trainer will be surprised soon. I subscribed. Thanks again.
What was the burn time on one of these
Up to 10 minutes depending on conditions and types of wood chips/wax.
The idea is great. The performance much less because of the lack of satefety precautions. How is the band saw doing after two years?
absolute certified banger ‼️‼️
ДА УЖ ! Нет предела полету фантазий. Вот только мастерового жалко, его же никакая скорая не возьмет, брать будет нечего.
Is this the official launch of the JDM Summer Tour 2024? (with appearances in Ohiopyle & Raystown Lake ... other venues TBA)
I have seen many homemade band-saws, this has got to be the most lame.
While at first glance it does appear to look very spooky to say the least. My first reaction was similar to others that blade needs to be covered. I have a band saw with a covered blade and have had concerns about what would happen when the blade breaks envisioning the blade flying out and wrapping around an arm and cutting it off or something like that. But in reality once the blade breaks it stops moving almost instantly. A break occurring while blade is uncovered there is a good posibility the blade may want to straighten out and could slap a person in the face. It also seems to be common scense to be able to adjust the blade guides so the blade doesn't span much farther than size of material being cut. Just googeling a comparison to table saw injuries it's shown to be only 10% that of a table saw and 20% of a hand held saw whatever that is supposed to describe. I'd be more comfortable with some kind of protection between me and that blade like is seen below the table covering the chain drive 2:20. One does need to take care of lose clothing getting caught in wheel spokes, remember Isadora Duncan's fate. I'm not an expert. Use at your own risk.
In my humble opinion ... your greatest hit!
It is the number one request on the campfire circuit!
Woo hoo .. new JDM videos!
Part of me screamed when you flipped the cookies over 😂 but great job on the oven. I think I may have to make my own now
#giantcapocontest You win!
Bro Is this Satire....
You didn't even took the tires off the wheels? LOL. Dude you're brave as heck. I wouldn't recommend this. It's much better to make things safe from the beginning...once the teeth start to rub on the soft material of the wheel...or even if it sets free, it is going to do some harm. If the band saw is INSIDE the channel of the wheel you have an additional safety margin that won't be easy to overcome. And for God's sake put that switch FAR OFF the moving band saw. You shouldn't be having to move your hands and arm close to the moving blade to switch it off. A big, red, emergency-like button.
Excelente idea.
I agree ... best capo ever!
Great song! ...nice capo too. ;~>
Thx. Informative video. I think I’ll try to make one 😊
Great! Let us know how it turns out.
@@eyeheywhy1856 Did you ever make plans for this project?
Camp PapaKee?
Yep.
Amazing
Nice ...
Next time use a more attractive model/spokesbabe. 😂 But seriously. Great video.
Knew you could do it! Can't wait to see it in action.
We need pics of you cooking on that thing!
The map made it!! To be able to see were all the stops were...PERFECT!!!!
Looks like an awesome trip ... just could use a video of a flying tent!
Very cool!
I can tell by the pause and breath at the beginning of the video that you like building way more than talking into the lens. I also hate talking into a camera. Great video, thank you for taking the time to put this together.
Looks real dangerous. If that blade had come off the wheel, it would have cut you baddddd😮
Did you buy all the hardware at once? I'm trying to find a kit to get everything at once
Hi John, thanks for this video. Any chance of pointing us to a scale pdf or plan for this build?
Great saw bud I like the idea of how you configured it.
great video, thanks!
this is a good way to get yourself killed
PapaKee! Simply en fuego.
Those look familiar
👏👏
Did you use a 24" scale?
This one was 24 3/4” scale
Good luck!!
PapaKee! (and bonus points for actually making the guitar)
Nice🔥😎
What kind of motor is driving it and how many watt does it have?
Old table saw motor. Not exactly sure of amperage draw but 110V and likely around 15 amps so around 1500ish watts. It runs at 3500 rpm (hence the giant sprocket to slow down the saw).
@@eyeheywhy1856 thanks. Im looking to make something with 2 brushless motors
did you use ONLY sanding sealer for the finish? I'm doing a pyro design on my taylor and don't want to finish with a poly as that will effect the E strings so how many coats did you use and is that all you used?
I usually spray 5 or 6 light coats of nitrocellulose lacquer.
HOW can i take up the rosette on my taylor for a pyrography wood burn all over? Sanding with hand or machine? and what FINISH should i use since Poly's affect the sound of the E string?
I am not an expert on removing a rosette. Heat and moisture usually helps to facilitate separating two glued pieces.
Clever..I wouldn't worry about needless safety mechanisms as they are too much work and add cost..plus having cool scars and crazy shop accident stories are good for the kiddos..
I detect a hint of sarcasm
Agree. Professional machines only add safety so they can make the price higher
How long is "a good long time"?
dangerous lmao
Is the little table for tips?
This is so beautiful!
