i wish i knew how much easier working with circular needles is from the jump! and also, that using metal needles is way less hard on my hands when working with synthetic fibers that don’t move smoothly against wooden ones when your hands start sweating a bit 😅

I've just added at least half of these to my favourites list! Thank you for highlighting these. As someone said below, the Hibernal sock is a mock cable. It's really quick and easy to knit and the fit is great. I have made a pair of DK socks, a hat and am midway through a fingering weight pair of socks now! It's a very relaxing stitch pattern ☺️

I love this video! I’ve watched it twice because I have SO MANY single skeins in fingering weight yarn that need to be used. I’ve started to get overwhelmed by all the unused yarn in my stash so your suggestions will hopefully help me decrease it.

I have so many single skeins! Mine are mostly because I tend to order yarn online but I’m also super picky so I get just 1 ball to test it out.. sometimes I get more when I have a specific idea but I also have a bunch of single skeins with no plan… great video and suggestions! Maybe a shawl is in my future…

it's so difficult! I've been knitting for many, many years but I don't do much colourwork because I'm never really satisfied with the result, either the stitches are too tight or they're too loose 😅 Kudos to anybody who's capable of this art!

thank you so much for posting this. i am attempting to knit a sweater as my first project (i know this sounds crazy, but i don't want a hat or a scarf...i want a sweater!) and this has helped me practice my magic loop and experimenting with different cast on/BOs without as much pressure. i tried knitting from a small sweater pattern but it was so much less confusing to watch and knit along with you. I've made two of them and will def reference for future holiday gifts. thank you thank you thank you!

I think you just have to have the will to want it. And then you need concentration and perseverance. I don't dare to do it either. I'm happy if I can just knit something straight.🫣😅

That you're allowed to leave mistakes. In my family, we are taught you put a little piece of yourself in everything you make, and by leaving a mistake, you are leaving an opening for that bit of yourself to escape. That's why it's sometimes hard to give away the pieces I make

In Iceland this is the most common way to make open sweaters. But usually we do one or two reverse stitches (don't know what they are called in English) where you want to cut the sweater later. Then we sew two lines on the reverse stitches and cut between the sewn lines. Then you can turn them in and either sew a ribben on the inside or crochet over the new opening. Then you can sew in a zipper or sew on buttons if you have made butten holes either while knitting or crocheting 😊
