Добавлен 7 дек 2023
My name is Kyle Parks and I’m a session/studio drummer. I have a passion for playing the drums and want to share my growth from my daily practice sessions and covers! My main goal however is just to inspire others to pick up a pair of sticks and fall in love with the instrument, and music, like I have! I want to grow a community where we can all learn without the fear of ridicule. Let's grow together!
Shorts will be uploaded daily from practice sessions and covers! Like I stated above I want to share my progress with everyone. This includes the mistakes made along the way!

everyone on earth has that mapex kit and so do i
✌😎
Try to not swing the hand like that.... Unnecessary movement.... But like I mentioned before your stick control has come very far in a short amount of time.
I've learned and had the most fun from joining a local school band. Start strong end strong doesn't matter what beat or how complex, it's just fun jamming AND it's gotten me on stage in front of a crowd 6 months after I started. Highly recommended!
‘Like dream theater’ *plays slipknot* 😂
It's actually the into to Honor Thy Father, but I can easily hear Slipknot lol
@@KyleParksDrums oh bruh XD will check it out
Your control has come a long way the last few videos... Keep it up man!!
Thank you!
Very good
Thank you!
I learned a similar thing from a Klaus Hessler video. Funny how it doesn't sound like a paradiddle when it is split up on different sounds.
It was way harder to play at first than I expected. Playing simple grooves with different orchestration is going to be a big focus for me this year I think.
Kyle! You gotta learn that pattern I sent you a while back.
I sure do! What was the sticking on it again?
I wanna see this like implemented into a song as a fill it sounds sweet
Sounds kinda like the reverse of the other one you did, it’s super cool!!
Thank you!
Переиграл брейк, пару долей
didn't expect dream theater, you're really good man
Thank you!
🔥 🔥
What kit are u using?
Mapex Armory in Aqua Marine! It has a nice blend of maple and birch for a decent price. I'd highly recommend it.
Dig the starphonic copper
A music teacher explained to me, "we practice the difficult to make the simple stuff easy'
Dig the double dynasync!
I was having lots of fun Friday night beating the daylights outta my Roland kit at my gig! First time playing those out and I must say it was fun, And they sounded great! Grabbing all those 80’s samples was well worth the effort! Although deep down, I still prefer jamming my acoustic kit! All good fun nonetheless, all the hard work pays off!
pls description )
Best advice 🙏🏼🤘🏼😇
That sounds dope asf what rudiments are u using???
Thank you! Main groove is just straight single paradiddles!
Lookin pretty here in Michigan too.
Very happy new Year
Don't rush. And build your smaller muscles up by practicing low and through the head. Nice and soft like. Then you can get to this and not feel rushed.
tell that to zach hill! just kidding. he knows when to throw a back beat on too, it’s essential. and yeah the whole time you should be having fun
toms sounds amazing for the price!
I really need to tune them lol
Trueeee, even all the fancy chops are interesting to play, but sometimes the basic stuff also important
Dude, what brand of bass drum pedal are you playing?? Looks like a direct drive…
Tama Dynasync! I highly recommend it as it's fantastic! Your also correct, it is absolutely a direct drive.
Haha I'm specifically working on the double kick into six stroke rolls that you showcase here. I can do all the simple stuff and most intermediate...it's just getting that double kick clean. Thanks for the advice.
You'll get there! Just keep at it!
Drums are drums. Dont put pressure on yourself trying to get better. Take a break, refresh, get back to it.
Very well said!
Don’t forget, failure is a part of the journey. Identify mistakes and correct them. It’s the only way to learn
And learning sheetmusic
@ not necessarily, I learned how to read sheet music and out of 30+ years of drumming, the last time I read music was in high school. If drumming is a life goal, then yes you should at the very least learn simple tablature 🎼
@ also if you’re a fan of covering songs and not creating your own
😊
So very true. Lovely video.
Amen, bro.
Thanks, I enjoyed watching this:)
Thank YOU! Your a GREAT help. My condolences ❤
You are absolutely welcome! That has quite a back story, and I am sorry about that but you are extremely talented, so keep going!
I'm sorry , pls give me your I drum set I don't have a drum set I only play in the church, but I want to take my drum skills to the next level
If that's the case, I highly recommend the Tama Imperial Star kit! 5 pieces and comes with cymbals and stands for around $500!
😥😥😥
Thanks for sharing this with us man. Keep playing and never give up!
I'm in it for the long haul!
This one's cool!
Thank you!
Wish I could see your left hand.
I'm currently working on a better camera angle. I really don't like the way i have it set up.
solid my man!
Thank you!
I can tell that you accidentally hit your phone with your sticks just a few times😂😂😂
Hey guys, just know the sticking isn't as important to this lesson as learning to play in halftime more easily/at will. You could just as easily play paradiddles, doubles, singles, a groove, etc..., as long as you apply the halftime concept. The same can also be said for learning double time. Thanks for everything, and Happy New Year!
What did you do to your phone?
Looks like the phone has taken a few taps
bro def got mad and took it out in his phone a couple times 😂
Exercise is called A/B. Super fun when the whole line gets it clean.
Thanks for the info! I just recently started doing it and thought it was pretty useful. I didn't realize it had a name.
@KyleParksDrums well it's what we called it haha but what you played is like the 2nd half of the warm up. Im sure you can find the warm up and its different variations somewhere online. Happy drumming!
get this dude a new phone
Nice toes
