This man sold me fentanyl
Wow!!! He needs 2 buy a lottery ticket 😊
Very cool discussion. It’s seems rare to hear people honestly talk about what gear they haven’t used and simplify and streamline their stuff.
"inadvertently" Sheeze! I couldnlt remember how to spell it. Happens - you know - when we gat really old! I was born "before" the "Baby Boomers!
@@davesanders9203 thanks I will try to do better.
It's all good and useful my friend! Just be safe.
Don't feel bad. I actually just cut myself this morning. I have a small money clip with a knife in it in my pocket, and apparently it opened up just enough that when I put my finger in my pocket it sliced the tip of my finger open. Again, for me I'd rather have a knife that's hard to open than one that's too easy. But accidents do happen too. I'm always doing something it seems. Stay safe my friend!
Hey Gerard hope you're doing well. So in my personal opinion I don't see a reason to have a knife that opens automatically or quickly. I think it just opens the door for accidents. I'm never in that big of a hurry to open a knife. I'd rather actually use two hands. I try not to ever hurry using a knife.
Congrats Gerard on getting 100 thats great! So as far as a belt and pouches, I solved that problem for myself and made one with a military web belt and all the pouches have molly straps so they can be removed or changed anytime. And the whole belt can be taken off any time with one big fastac clip, it doesn't affect my regular belt holding my pants up, It's a separate belt with full survival kit on it. I don't use it much but it is cool and works great for me.
@@MartysRamblings2024 I have one started not sure I want to continue with todays pants on really do not need a thing. Maybe I need a few more pairs? Just kidding. Stay safe dude.
Congrats!
Great video brother. Thanks.
Sharp sheep foot there, classy
I just picked up another one. I believe it's between 10 and 12 liter. Again I don't like it as a sling bag, I might even cut the sling off, but it's a cool mini pack with a great carry handle.
Gerard I think the small Scorpio sling bag that you can find at the Love's truckstops might be ideal for you, not sure but it's worth checking out. They have different colors and they are under 30 bucks. I just seen a couple this morning. I'm actually gonna pick up another one just for a small extra pack.
Gerard I get it. Those of us who enjoy making videos sometimes we make too many too often. I'm not really on a schedule either though I should be. You're kind of like me in that you're not just one thing, you have a lot of different interests. So here's just an idea; you could have a video on Monday talking about all gear, Wednesday could be a vlog just rambling about life, Friday could be something like outdoor survival tips. Just an idea of course, it could be any topics you choose..And then do a "short" now and then. It is true that RUclips doesn't like it when we post too often, also it's good to have a consistent schedule for viewers. But again I'm preaching to the choir here, I have no schedule but I should try to do it too. Some of the biggest best RUclips channels only have 1 video a week. I don't think I can do that though, I have too much to ramble about LOL. Again I just like to share my life whatever I'm doing. Just some ideas for you Have a great day my friend!
So is that for hiking or EDC? Their 2 different things in my book. If its for hiking, you wouldnt bring a laptop. If its for hiking you have outdoor gear only. Just my 3 cents😁
Nice loadout! Like I said before I think videos where you are showing something; its always better to have the camera on a tripod facing you, then sit in front of the camera and show the gear. You can hold the items and move them closer to the camera to show detail. Make sure to use front camera so you can see when you and tge items are in the frame. Much better and easier to see. Thats just how I always do it. Only time I hold the camera and show something is when I'm walking down a trail or a shop tour, etc.
Nice pack Gerard! What brand and size is that? So you know what I carry and how I carry, but it's always changing LOL. As far as water, what I have learned (and I'm always still learning) is that it's more important to have ways to purify water. If you can do that you will have an unlimited supply of water as you find it in streams, creeks, rivers, lakes, snow, etc. There are 3 ways to purify water; filter, aqua tabs, and boiling. Filters fail and don't last forever, aqua tabs are good but run out, boiling is the best in my mind. So every pack and survival kit should have a metal container to boil water in and a fire kit of multiple ways to start fire. I carry a canteen kit with Nalgene canteen, metal canteen cup, and stove. Some packs I just have a Nalgene bottle but then I have a metal cup also. Always start out with a quart or more of water, but more importantly know how to purify more in the field. Just my 2 cents. Stay safe!🙂
the neck where it goes in the sheath are different sizes
Praying for you my friend. I know this must be a hard time. Yeah it is sad that people can't make time to visit loved ones and friends unless we are sick, dieing, or dead. We need to make time for each other while we are still breathing and can still enjoy each other.
Gerard if you have a Loves truckstop near where you live you should check them out. They have a small sling bag in their Scorpio tactical gear area that's perty nice for the price. Along with knives, flashlights, gloves, hats, patches, etc. I've actually had a couple of their sling bags. I believe it's a little smaller than the 511 but they have a handle and they're built petty good. I don't personally like sling bags so I gave one to a friend, and I just gave one to my wife for her rock collecting. They're only about 30 bucks and again they're a little smaller than the 511 but they have a handle and kind of a neat little edc bag. I actually showed it in my last pack video. Just something to check out if you have a Loves near you. Each one is a bit different but most of them have that year. Truck stops actually have some cool gear.
@@MartysRamblings2024 thanks for the tip. I believe there is one on route 17 in oh what town is that ? Mayer!
@@GeezerGear Oh yeah I've been there, its Courdes Junction on I-17. I was there about a month ago.
@@MartysRamblings2024 today I put out a few videos not so good as a bud of mine shot himself he is alive but I have limited info.
@@GeezerGear Oh I'm so sorry
I myself like that pouch. I like the ones that are more tactical and outdoorsy colors, even if they are heavier I like them in my pack and by themselves. As far as the compass I would never go in the woods or any adventure without a compass,.cause you never know when you need it in an emergency. And I never go anywhere without my ferro rod & lighter in my pocket, and I have multiples in my pack when hiking because fire is so important. I carry some items only for emergency, but I want to have them when I need them. But everyone is different, and it depends on what you use it for you. Yes everyone needs to be careful with knives. Just do you Gerard and enjoy every day and use what you like and what you have.🙂
It is a very nice knife I have two of them I gifted one to a friend the only negative thing that I said about them it is all stainless steel Construction, I hunting cold weather a lot and it is a cold magnet you got it in your pocket you'll know it is 33° outside that knife is 33° in your pocket, but it is sharp and it holds the edge good
I felt the same way when I got mine and still feel the same way today every time I use it.
Looks good.
Oh my friend I am the king of rambling. I never stop talking. And much of what I say is just mush LOL. As far as a fidget pen that is cool, but yea I don't think I would buy one. A classic Bic clicker pen works great and is a natural fidget. Hope your having a great weekend!
Nice lineup!
Wow thats quite the nice collection!
If you want to wear something in the house, maybe the small pouch you have on your belt side?
I dont wear any packs in the house... In my pocket; phone, knife, multitool, wallet, bandana, notebook, pen, keys, ferro. But I don't wear any pack or pouch when I'm in the house.
Funny you mentioned this, because I just stumbled upon a "Rucking" video the other day. Yea your right basically its just put weights in a pack to carry and enhance your active workout. That's fine if you are just focusing on exercise, but dont backpack or do things outdoors. If you already have a backpack and like to hike, then you have weight in your pack already. Your gear and supplies is your weight. I'd much rather carry very useful hiking, camping, bushcraft, survival, and emergency supplies as weight...than useless steel plates. Just my 2 cents again😂 You should do a camping video sometime. They are fun to make and watch. Yes always be safe with fire. Hope your having a great day!
I think there's alot of great packs out there. It all depends on what you like and what you want it for. For me personally I rarely do Amazon or any online service. First of all Amazon is just a distributor of EVERYTHING and don't really know much about any items, in my opinion. When I buy something I like to see it in person first and feel it and see if I really like it. Just like clothes and for me also packs, I like to try them on. I have heard Vanquest is really good, but so is 511 Tactical. Just this year I got a smaller Rush for my EDC, and I have the Rush 24, and just recently got the Rush 12 which I love. And I really like them all and prob will keep them for life. Just depends on what you like. Gerard I would encourage you to go to a Fleet Farm. Cabelas, Dunhams, Runnings, or other outdoor or tactical store. The REI and others only have the colorful nylon packs and not really the rugged tactical ones we like. Also, think about what you want it for. To me an EDC has stuff like laptop, change of clothes, toiletries, phone charger, etc for traveling, flying, hotel etc. Some peoples EDC has stuff for they're job. I do have a small EDC pack mostly for traveling, but all the rest of my packs are for hiking/bushcraft/camping. If I could only have 1 pack for the rest of my life it would be my 511 Rush 24. It's a perfect pack for me. Find the perfect one for you, whatever brand it is. Just my 2 cents again LOL. Hope your doing well!🙂
You're doing great my friend! We are all learning. And amen to what you said at the end.
Howdy sir, in response to your last short "FYI" (because comments are turned off on that video). Just so you know the video is sideways. So to make it really simple when you do a short 15 seconds or 60 seconds you need to be in portrait mode, when you do a regular videos it's better to be in landscape mode.
Great video Gerard and nice gear! I get it; going back-and-forth not knowing what to carry and what pack and what pouches and what gear and when. But theyre all good, for different uses. I think I finally got mine down. I have 4 main packs. 1. My 20L edc bag I use for traveling. 2. My 24L lightweight daypack I use every day now for hiking, even walking and running! 3. My 37L all-around hiking daypack. 4. My 50L hiking overnight pack. I have a few others but those are my main ones, and I have them fully loaded and I never have to switch anything, mostly. I also have a survival waste pack and a survival belt; I can use alone or with my packs. Each pack stays ready for different uses in different times and seasons. When I get home I'm gonna do a new video of all my packs, and don't plan on changing anymore! (Well unless I see another pack I really like LOL) The only reason I have so many is I get really good deals, and its my main hobby. By the way you could have easily ate a Spam single with your coffee LOL, JK😂 Again great video my friend. Have a blessed day!
511 is great! I'm sure it's a nice sling bag. I myself don't like sling bags because I like even weight on my back, I'd rather have a backpack, but that's just me. The 511 Rush 12 is a nice smaller EDC pack. I have a small 511 look alike for my EDC bag. And I have a 511 Rush 24 for my all around daypack for hiking. 511 makes great packs, pouches too. All my other packs and pouches are just thrifty but I like my 511.
Very nice belt pouch!
Thank you sir!🙂
Have you seen my pack collection?😂 It's ok my friend. There's nothing wrong with you. I get it. I got into hiking/backpacking/bushcraft/survival/etc a few years ago and now I have a collection of packs and gear. Not alot of money into it but still a bunch of stuff. But it's ok! There are MUCH WORST addictions! This is fun and enjoyable. Just have it organized and know what you want to use it for. For example I have 4 packs now always fully loaded and ready; lightweight summer, all-around daypack, military surplus pack and gear, and large overnight pack. I have already started giving many of my others away to help others get started having fun in tge woods. It's good to have a hobby and enjoy it.🙂
