Situated 25km east of Bendigo, Fosterville Gold Mine - operated by Agnico Eagle Mines Limited - is the largest gold producer in the state of Victoria. As of the end of 2021, the mine has extracted over 3.5 million ounces of gold since the commencement of the current operation in 2005.
With over 800 people employed at the mine - who are mostly local to the area - Fosterville Gold Mine strongly believes in engaging with and contributing to the local community.

Axedale Undepass Indigenous mural project by AOTOF - 2024
A new outdoor mural - created by two talented local indigenous artists - has transformed the grey walls of the McIvor Highway underpass in Axedale into a celebration of connection, and was ceremonially revealed on Sunday 17 November 2024 as part of Axedale on Show event.
The project is an initiative of Axedale Our Town Our Future (AOTOF) community group and was supported by Fosterville Gold Mine.
