I'm 54 but I sometimes feel like I'm 74 or at least 64. Getting older really sucks especially when you feel like you haven't accomplished much in your life.

This was very powerful. I didn't have an abusive father, but he was neglectful, and that led to me performing for acceptance my whole life.

Thank you for this. I find I can be my authentic self when I’m with clients but with my peers I am guarded because I don’t see the openness and acceptance of many clients that we serve. It’s a bit different but I can also see how being open with my peers and challenging negative perspectives might allow me to feel fully like myself and it could benefit our clients as well. I hope this makes sense.

Corporate for black women is really hard. My mental health has gone down due to being talked down to, and not given the right tools to succeed. I never got fired from my jobs I just looked for another one and then would resign. But after I few times of being the “ONLY” and treated harsher than my co-workers and having to do the dirty work, not seeing a way to work my way up. I believe I can’t work in corporate full time anymore. Only part time just to make enough to survive and not look to move up it’s not worth the further risk on my mental health.

As a Muslim, i would say getting older and thinking about losing loved ones is natural, and feeling sad about it is common. In Islam, aging is part of God's plan, and we're encouraged to approach it with patience and faith. Life is temporary, and the focus should be on good deeds and preparing for the hereafter. Islam teaches us to cherish and care for our parents, especially as they age. While the thought of losing them or facing death is hard, believers find comfort in the belief that death is a transition to eternal life. It's okay to feel sad, but turning to Allah for strength can bring peace. Hope it helps.❤ Free Palestine 🇵🇸 And if you guys are curious read the quran (leave biases aside)
