i get that there is a hip hop song that you like, but imagine being under THIS video and saying how good the sampling was.. like damn, this is a classical virtuoso piece. a maestro of the instrument. go comment about the sampling in the hip hop music video, this is all about the brazilian classical guitar

I saw Barbosa-Lima in 1970 when he replaced an ailing Andres Segovia at a concert in Des Moines, iA. I went and got his autograph at the end of the concert. I had no idea how big he would become, but I loved his playing.

Meu deus, como o Brasil tem música boa, e como tem tanta coisa que eu não sei, que coisa engraçada eu descobrir tudo isso pelo simples motivo de ir assistir um ótimo anime, samurai champloo, gostar muito da trilha sonora e ir pesquisar, e acabar descobrindo sobre o brilhante nujabes, que tá me fazendo descobrir tanta música brasileira boa, que loucura

I was at that concert, working as assistant producer for Barbosa-Lima. And Luiz Bonfá was supposed to be there too, sharing the stage with Barbosa-Lima. But, due to contractual problems, Bonfá was forced to cancel his participation. I still keep the original tickets and posters for the concert, advertised as "Luiz Bonfá and Carlos Barbosa-Lima". Btw, it was Bonfá, with whom I worked for two decades, who introduced me to Barbosa-Lima.
