Policies the Market Cares About
Просмотров 7214 дней назад
This election is super polarizing and one of the biggest questions Matt, Lee, and John receive as financial advisors is “How will this change the markets?” Luckily, historical data shows that whoever is in office, whether they’re Republican or Democrat, doesn’t make a huge difference... However, policy does matter. Policies like tax changes, tariffs, green energy and more can have a huge impact...

Common Questions We Get as Financial Advisors
"Markets are happy" after the election? Markets LOVE settled issues and dislike unknown or instability. The markets are happy only because the election is over, not because of the outcome, in my humble opinion. Stock trade regardless of the winner, but which stocks and which sectors are the question the markets is the question. Green stocks - defense stocks - or.......? WARNING: Disbanding the IRS and the Dept of Education will cause a GIGANTIC increase in unemployment! Ha ha
No tax on tips and overtime and no tax on SSI
Not bad ideas!!
Why do people that get tips or overtime not have to pay taxes but people who make less money do?
@@Moosetick2002 I think the idea with tips its like a gift from someone who's appreciating a service, giving a little something to the person who's done a good service; if you give someone a $5 bill, like a friend, you don't automatically pay taxes on it, do you? I think that's the concept. :) Good question!
people who like capitalism are either uneducated or blinded by greed.
if you think market forces can work, I suggest you educate yourself on the slums of victorian england, don't forget to look into child labor deaths.
As to "market volatility", the S&P500 VIX graph from 1980-2024 will reveal how markets respond to the various Black Swan events on both the national and world stage. Markets are more emotional than rational during such times, and company valuations take the back burner.
Thanks for your thoughts! Indeed, the markets can act strange during uncertain times.
Regarding control of government spending isn’t Social Security the elephant in the room? Do you think Social Security can be fixed without tax increases on working people? If it’s not and benefits are reduced wouldn’t that have a drastic impact on the economy as well?
Thanks for your comment! I'll share this with the guys for tomorrow's episode centered on viewers questions! :D Great question!

@@BenLonewolf Thanks for your comment! :D
Some may define "fair" differently from others. One person in history defined fair as "from each according to their means to each according to their need".
Thanks for the comment! :D
Perhaps Goldman Sachs should consider age demographics in their 10-year market projections. Give them a copy of "Mission Focused. Purpose Driven."
Not a bad idea!

I don't know exactly how this info best helps me, but I enjoy the learning opportunity! Thanks Lee!
Glad you enjoyed the episode! :D And thanks for your comment! We are also taking listener questions for an upcoming episode, so if you have any questions or thoughts on the market or economy, now is a great time to share!
What a GREAT education I just received - thank you! This topic is rather foreign to me as a primarily stock-oriented investor. Nice "class" in the Mach-1 Market Moment University.
Very glad you got value from this episode! And thanks for your comment! :D
Greta video! No Regan :(
Thanks for your comment! Yes, we missed Regan but she'll be back soon :D
Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda! Where were you in the '80s when I bought (was sold?) a UL (not a IUL). My "investment" has done ok, but not nearly what a separate IRA would have provided over the past 40-years. I do choose which funds that it uses, and usually if about 3 or 4 or the many offerings. I have discovered that as I age the policy premium escalates, which in turn is a motivation to continue moving the investments into more and more higher risk strategies to keep up with the monthly premiums - the opposite of what a aging person should normally be pursuing. If I knew then what I learned later (much!), I would not have bought the UL policy, but only bought a 30-year term policy to cover my family needs until my kids were grown and on their own and I was close to retirement. My monthly premiums are not almost $500/month, so I need to invest in strategies that will hopefully provide close to 11%+ per year return to break even with the premium outflow!! Next year(s)......??!! Ouch! And if I decide to close it and cash out, I then face a very high reportable gains on top of my normal retirement income.
Thanks for your comment and for sharing your experience! It is hard navigating the financial world, easy to get pulled into things like you described. That's why we're here, hoping to help! :D
Hey guys, I am thinking of coming out of retirement to get a job as a longshoreman!! An 8-1/2% pay increase PER YEAR for the next six years is awesome!! 😃💰🤑
Haha! Thanks for the comment!

Trees are filthy bug infested harbors' of Ants, every kind of bugs, and filth waiting to fall on your house.
Interesting argument against trees but thanks for your comment! And you can click on the link on this video to watch the full episode of No Dumb Questions where Ashton, Regan and Isaac talk about Warren Buffet!
Regarding Eli's observation of all the cash in money market accounts, it may be fun to hear you guys discuss how that MAY tie into the great English St. Ledger's Stakes horse race. It occurs on September 14th this year. The may be when all that money market money that Eli spoke about begins to flow back into the stock market?!🤔 "Sell in May, and buy on St. Leger's Day" is the saying.
Thanks for the comment! Interesting point!
Let us know what you think about Warren Buffet! Are you as inspired to invest for the long-term as Ashton, Isaac, and Regan?
Should have bought long dated and taken advantage of the gains coming.
Thanks for the comment! And if you're interested in learning more, the full podcast episode is linked to this short or head over to our channel! :D
The signal for recession is when the yeild curve UNinverts. Not the when it inverts. Also the way it uninverts(bull steepener) signals how bad recession may be.
Thanks for your comment! Interesting... the guys seemed to think this was a good sign, but you can watch the full episode linked on this short to get the full context and we'd love your questions/comments over there too!
Do you think this means the economy is returning to a healthy place or is a recession still on the horizon?
They spend it on stupid things it means they pocket it when they do. Both sides are crooks and a lot if them are traitors

Thanks for the comment! And the full episode is linked at the bottom of the video!
Comment what other takeaways you have with this data!
If you make a billion dollars, they don't tax it. If you want to get elected, you need mega donations from big corporations. That's the issue. It's not an ivory tower. It's a quid pro quo thing. That's what to fix.
Thanks for the comment! John and the others go into more detail in the full podcast episode, linked on this short!
