Hey man . Nice content . Can you give me a ball park figure of how much euros this trip cost . Thinking of something similar. It would really help me . Thanks
Great day driving. The weather was on your side all the way . I'm doing this trip Sunday 22nd any good tips . I leaving from youghal . Round trip 575 kmh.
Excellent video...Thanks for sharing. I also enjoyed the Pyrenees one. I'm thinking of riding from Santander to South Spain around May. I've never done a long trip on the bike and just a little nervous solo but it seems like it can be done 😉. So re -prepping the bike for the trip, what kind of things do you check and carry with you? Also, did you book all the accommodation in advance prior to leaving home? Thank you
Brilliant start to the trip looking forward to watching more
Really like your videos and the backing music. Been to Andora a few times on the bike and it really is amazing 👏
good show
Loving your videos and thank you for sharing your trip with us 👏 out of interest what bike are you riding and have you had any problems finding fuel stations 🤔
Really glad you made it OK in that weather. I remember a few years in that area going into a long tunnel with sun glasses and coming out into snow 🤣🤣
Hi. Only just found your channel and really enjoying it. I'm in Wales and looking at Spain next year for just a few weeks. How are you booking your hotels each day ?
Hey Richard! Glad you're enjoying the videos!! I usually book my hotels as I go, sometimes even going straight to the hotel and trying my luck at the reception desk. Most of the time, I'll book a hotel in the morning to the place I'm planning to go that day. I like doing that because I can change plans on the spot accordingly to the weather, or if I have new ideas along the day!
@@maxrides yes thanks for the advice and I'm thinking of doing the same thing. Only problem when you just turn up at the hotel sometimes is they may not like bikers and it's a straight no we are full 🤣 so booking in the morning or the night before I think is the best way forward 👍
loved the videos .got some good ideas for my 2023 trip cheers.
Glad you're enjoying the videos Alan!! Thanks for watching!
just curious,is the bike a Triumph tiger?
Hey Sylvesters, no, it's actually a BMW F800GS Adventure, 2014 model!
Thanks for watching!!
I’m going to pass Route des cols in October on the Harley-Davidson. Do you sing it is very late? Thank you for video! Suscribed.
Hey Alexandro!! When I did my research last year, I concluded that September and October would be the best time to do a trip around the Pyrenees. I briefly discuss this in my next video: ruclips.net/video/w0PfgaVF47o/видео.html. If you are too late in October, I would just keep an eye on the night temperatures to try to avoid ice in the early morning (I got some in the Picos de Europa later in this same trip). Besides that, just take a good amount of layers, and you'll be fine!
@@maxrides thank you so much!!!
No problem man! Let me know how the trip goes!!
Hi Max, great videos, thanks. I noticed that the last one was uploaded a while ago. Has the trip been interrupted? I hope you are fine. Cheers
Hey Gus, glad you liked the videos and thanks for asking!! I'm safe and sound, just had a small video production hiccup here! The trip was fully recorded last year, and I usually edit the videos when I'm already back home. I should be back on the usual "one video per week" schedule very soon!
Hi Max, love the videos, have only recently come across your channel. I live just outside Belfast. It was you Spain trip that lured me in. Maybe we will cross paths at some point. Keep safe.
Thanks David, glad you liked them man! See you on the road!!
Great to meet you at the ABR Festival Max. Very inspirational videos with beautiful scenery.

Great video Max.I remember doing those 2 Irish Photo Rally points.I do a few points every year,I managed to get all 24 points completed only once,I think it was 2012...
Great video Max,the Pyrenees look beautiful I will definitely consider them for 2023,I hve been to Alps and Dolomites so Pyrenees need to be done..PS I have the same panniers and top box
Glad you liked Pat!! Alps and Dolomites are probably going to be my next big trip now!! I'm in the planning phase of it!!
Another great Video Max,I have never been through The Pyrenees.Maybe some day?
Thanks Pat!! Glad you liked it!
Great Video Max,I,m really looking forward to the next episode> myself and my buddy spend a month in Spain and Portugal last year and are heading back there this September for another month/6 weeks. We live in Co Meath,we got our bikes transported from Gorey to Bilbao flew there with Aer Lingus,I,m not keen on ferries. We spent a few days in Picos before heading into Portugal for 2 days.Headed across towards Madrid,my son lives there (free board an lodging for a few days)😀,Visited Segovia and Toledo, then headed northeast for a while in Basque country.I have subscribed to your channel and will be taking notes, already Bardenas Reales is on the list...
Hey Pat! Glad you liked the videos man!! I never been to these parts of Spain you were (Madrid, Segovia, Toledo etc.), it must be awesome too!! Who did the bike transport for you folks? I had a very rough experience in the ferry on my way back from Spain, so I've been thinking about better alternatives!
Hi, beautiful place! I will be there this summer. :-) I used to ride... i miss it . I'll be travelling west coast in a tiny van this yr. Did u see many places to put up a tent or park a tiny van for the night?
This part of Ireland is really 😍! And, yes, rv parking and wild camping is very common in Ireland and also around The Burren. I always see a lot of them when going around, especially in the summer. Inside this video's route, this place here seems to be very popular: maps.app.goo.gl/YQB9YHS9VxHn98o87 hope it helps!! 😊
Epic trip and great ride ! Beautiful shots, well done. Thanks for sharing. See you in Portugal.
Obrigado Manuel! Glad you liked it! Portugal is coming later on this same trip, stay tuned!
By the way, I also have the same content in Brazilian Portuguese, might be cool for you and your friends! 😊 bit.ly/3GbOE4Y
Aww bless is that your partner and baby waving you off, so cute. Great vid thank you.
Thanks Martin, glad you enjoyed it!! That's actually my neighbour, he came around with the baby to wish me a safe trip!!
That is very cool
Glad you liked it Abdelrhman!
Really enjoyed the video, looking forward to seeing more of the trip
Excellent series of Vlog's Max. Love your 850GSA. I also do the Photo Rally, recognised some of the points your did, well done.
Glad you enjoyed it Colin!! Are you doing it this year?? We might cross paths around at some point! :)
@@maxrides Yes indeed, have done 8 so far with 22 and 21 tomorrow. Also doing the Wolfhound Rally. And Yes, hopefully we will cross paths at some point, Cheers
That's awesome! I wasn't aware of the Wolfhound one, will check it out, thanks!
Great video- any more coming from the Spain trip?
Thanks!! Glad you liked! I had a small production hiccup here, but back on track! Just published the next one in the series: ruclips.net/video/evjzH8hdw9I/видео.html In total, the Spain and Portugal trip will probably have something around 20 videos! :)
Love it great stuff
Glad you enjoyed it bris442!!
Good video! Regards from Spain!!
Gracias Zerrot! A lot more coming from my Spanish trip!! :)
Great video buddy. I will be taking the same route from Rosslare to Bilbao this coming September. Can I ask a question; what all did I need for boarding the ferry/ entering Spain? Passport, vaccination certificate, Spain locator form.......is there anything else I need to provide? You're feedback would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Chris.
Hey Chris, glad you liked the video! From my checklist here: ferry ticket, passport, vaccination certificate and Spanish locator form. These are for the ferry. It's also a good idea to carry a printed version of your insurance (the ferry won't ask it, but the police might). If you're crossing to France via the land border, there was also a form that you need to sign and carry with you (it's a self-certification about Covid symptoms). In France it's also mandatory to carry an emergency yellow vest (just carry, not wear it necessarily while riding). Let me know if you have any other questions, super happy to help!
Quick note: worth checking before you set out too, these rules tend to change a lot these days!
@@maxrides Hi mate. Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it 😁. Glad you mentioned France, I'll be going through Andorra which means I have to go through a bit of France to get back into Spain.
Another thing to notice: Andorra is not part of the European Union and also not part of the European economic area, so worth checking if your bike insurance will be valid in there (it's mandatory as far as I know).
@@maxrides yea buddy I've already that covered. Just need an IDP 1949.
Cracker looking countryside to go rinding in there mate 🤠👍
Great👍
Nice video again my friend. I like the way you take it easy, enjoy the scenery and stop for anything of interest. I’ve been on too many group rides where it becomes a race to the finish. Alone or with one or two mates is a lot better. Keep them coming!
Thanks Charles!!
Lovely video, thank you. I did the Antrim Coast yesterday (New Year’s Day), amazingly 13C and only a little rain!
That's a great ride to start the year for sure!! Did you make any of the glens!? Thanks for watching!!
@@maxrides I got as far as the town of Glenarm on the coast then turned inland through Glenarm Glen and home via Broughshane. Great way to spend New Year’s Day.
Fork Nashooooonta!
Dam there's some stunning looking country side to ride there 🤠👍
Nice one Max, I enjoyed the scenery and the music.
