How would you recommend getting started as an auctioneer to someone with zero experience? I don’t think I can afford to buy a property to use as an auction house or hire employees. Are there opportunities to help other auctioneers and learn?
I think you just talked me out of becoming an auctioneer
Thank you!
A quick question. If a set is missing a plate, should I complete the set, or would you recommend piecing it out? I am new so selling China, but not new to selling in general
I would piece it out. No sense spending money to complete a set and if reselling its easier to ship smaller boxes
I sold a set of Liberty Blue and Lenox Kingsley on eBay for around $225 each. I paid $15 for the Liberty Blue and $30 for the Lenox.
pretty good score..... Got to love those
I get cheap China at estate sale auctions and thrift shops.
yes, got a love a yard sale table or flea markets finds. flip your ten dollar buy into a hundred
The big old heavy saw has brushes and other replaceable pieces. the new stuff is disposable, you get what you pay for and like in Jurassic Park when the kid picks up the night vision goggles and askes "Are they Heavy? then they are expensive".
lol... to funny. yes........ we didnt have fancy toys when I was a kid. played with sticks, and rocks and aligators. lol
Great insight! Loved it ! From the UK
Thanks so much for the kind words... Sell some books and make some money !!!!
Thank you for the content...i just started trying to sell books on Amazon and never thought about bundling the books I pick up that I am restricted from selling on Amazon. I am learning everyday starting this business and enjoy the content. I have used estate sales, thrift stores, library sales, and ads on various websites for sourcing my books. Thank you again
Thanks for the kind words !!!! Books are out there for the picking !! You just have to find them !!
I look at my local Craig's list and tools sit there for a year or more and don't sell. The aren't expensive either.
I find individual tools on ebay and tools over $50 on Facebook market place work best for me.
How do you sell books for under $5 and make any money? The shipping is $4 something now?
I try and sell over $10. and shipping is not free. They pay media mail
Thanks, useful info
Thanks for the kind words !!!!
My problem is I can’t find reasonable resources, I would love love to have a channel, been trying to find stuff for over 2 years , I desperately need extra income ?
Estate sales around here can't give China away. The youth do not want it.
yes. sells cheap then you can part i t out online....... takes a while but we sell a fair amount around the holidays.
I've got an 80 piece German porcelain set of Villeroy Boch summerday for sale for a reasonable price. Gorgeous set! Anyone? Perfect condition all, no cracks. little to no use.
Villeroy and Boch is a good reseller online..... sell it in groups of 4's
Thanks for the new video! I’m looking forward to seeing what other content you post! Always good to learn as much as you can!
Thanks for watching. I appreciate you. More coming soon !!
Anytime I tell an organization that I am a seller the immediately get defensive and or drastically increase the price. I always get back a portion that I earned, but when they have that knee jerk reaction I’m not giving them anything
I would have to say I have experienced the same reactions yes I agree
Hi, I am from India. I am planning to create an online auction platform to sell movie-related items. I want to partner with the movie industry to sell their products. When the products are sold, I will get a percentage. What are your thoughts?
I think its a good niche. Especially if you know your product well. Id say go for it !!!
Vendoo Chrome Extension cross-listing takes down all other platform listings when a sale happens. Great cross-list option. No more double sales worries.
Great advice in this video. I’ve been looking for junk at thrift stores. In reality this is what I want to do
Great video very helpful info
I appreciate your kind words. More to come !!!!
There's really only 3 record conditions: Mint, Good, and Beat. Generally, anything in the "VG" or under rating is Beat.
got ya,,, thank you so much !!!! happy record collecting !!!
This idiot doesn't know the difference between a framing hammer and a common claw hammer!
THANKYOU KEN
Very informative!
Great content!!
Thank you so much for your kind words and support. We appreciate you!
Also what do you find best to use when packaging china?
In the beginning I had a problem. Actually spending money on packaging material like bubble wrap. I used to get as much recycled material as possible. But once you reach the point where you can't source enough recycled material then buying packing material makes the most amount of sense. I pretty much just go with bubble wrap. Standard across the board. I wrapped just about everything in it. If you're a good shopper and research the best prices for wholesale bubble wrap, you can get these enormous rolls for a very cost effective price.
In your opinion what’s the best product to use for repairing the glaze on the china if need be ? Also what is your favorite cleaning method you use in order to maintain a safe clean product before shipment?
In regards to repairing the glaze. We typically will not sell an item that has glazing issues that are severe. In the event. It's a very rare piece of China and cracks in the glaze are in the piece. We would just sell it as is with full disclosure of the crazing. Regarding cleaning, just good old fashioned dawn dish soap. Sometimes if the piece has been in an antique shop and has sticker residue, we will use Goo gone
Hi, I am in CT and have a couple very large sets. One is the gold trim Noritake.. Another is a huge pink print.. Do you ever go to CT, to buy from an estate? My Mom passed less than a year ago and my Dad 5 years ago.
I've just made of $500 selling some my old books that I don't read. I have found that controversial and esoteric books sell really well.
Good day, I have lots of records will to sell for you. I have more than 10k records in stock
Wow another informative video spot on sir .
How many tons? Those guys you have working for you must be beasts
They are actually old broke down men. Hanging on by a thread.... But I am one of them.
Hello. I’m enjoying your videos and really enjoyed this start to finish video. I’ve been dealing in resale and a picker/hauler or over 20 years. I just received my auction license in the mail and looking forward to getting to work. I do wish you put out videos more frequently. Love’em. Good day
Im going to try and be more consistent with content. It seems as though folks like the vids so Im on a mission this year to show people more about what we do and how we do it. I appreciate your kinds words and support. Ill see you out there in the trenches !!!!
@@TheResellersNetworkWould you consider posting a video of how to start-to-finish estate auction ON-SITE. (Booking/ad/setup/etc). I’m wanting to facilitate some of those for working capital
I would consider yes. Let me wrap my head around that idea.@@mitche9676
We're in Australia and stumbled across you video. We became vintage fine China sellers as we inherited lots. We started listing and started getting lots views and even sales😊 so now that's what we do. We've listed all we had inherited and now source through a local auction house where they do mixed box lots of which there are gems within those lots. We started breaking down our sets and we did find that was easier to sell and more profitable. I'll have look through your videos and learn something more.
Everything you have said is true gospel in the resale world. Specializing is something that has been helpful for us as well. I love china. It tends to be a "long hold" but if you have the space to keep it for a little while it has great mark up. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter times are our best for china sales. Mostly replacement sales I would guess. Splitting up sets is what we do as well. 4 plates, 4 sets of cups and saucers, 4 salad plates etc. See you out there !!!
Great idea on the lots. I've quickly realized that most of the few hundred books I've accumulated from estate sales aren't worth selling individually on eBay since the big book resellers are selling them for $3-5 with free shipping and multi-book discounts. I have at least 2-3 bundles in mind that may move some of those books for ~$20 each. Do you have any experience with AbeBooks? I've bought many used books from them but don't know if I want to invest the time into another platform when I'm selling everything on eBay.
Great info 👏
I appreciate you !!!!
I haven't had luck with cross-posting -- I really loathe it when something sells multiple times right at the same time. And weirdly, stock that sits forever will inevitably sell at the same time. It's weird.
I would totally agree. cross posting is dangerous business. Its messed me up as well. Thanks for watching. see ya out there !!!
Wow, live auctions sound like so much fun! Can’t wait to start my career as a runner! 😉
Perhaps next time it will show how to sell books on eBay
Perhaps this time it did show you how to sell books on eBay. Perhaps next time maybe you could listen closer
Look forward to doing another live
😊
Moo cho gras ee ass I appreciate your kind words kind sir.
😂
Keep watching, you will be a movie star !!!!
Beep beep
Honk honk........ I appreciate you !!!!
Scan tools are fun
Good information. Thank you.
Thanks so much for the kind words and support. Ill see you out there treasure hunting !!!!
Love treasure hunting. But I sell at flea markets and garage sales. I do put things on Craigslist and Facebook Market to sell when flea markets and garage sales are off season in my area. No co-assignments. I buy and sell, I also hunt on curb treasures and dumpster treasures. Be surprise how many people just give things away or sell very cheaply and you turn around and sell it. I don't keep things around at very long periods. If its still around after 3 months. I sell at cost to get rid of it. Not once lost money on anything. Love it and enjoy it. It's always a side hustle. When I lost my job or moving else where. Than sometimes it's a full time job, until I can find a regular 40 hour job. I use this money to travel. As I love traveling.
I appreciate your input. I agree whereas its a great side hustle and income. I wouldn't do anything else. I love it as well. Ill see ya out there in the trenches lol !!!!
Very informative thank you, i’ve been considering to start doing online local auctions to help move merchandise.
Its a great side line that offers extra money and its fun !!!
Curious, how can you go about shipping the product instead of having them pick it up could you include that in the fee for purchasing?
some folks do it that way. We deal in estate goods as well as small stuff. Local pick up works for us. Either option works depending on what your selling and what your business model is. Ill see ya out there!!!
How would i price a set with gold in it? And does it matter if there are spiderweb like fractures across the dish?
So a gold rim or trim does not really make the china worth more. The amount of gold is very little if any at all. What makes it valuable is the desirability of the pattern and its demand. Check ebay completed listings to see what actually sold in the pattern you have and what prices it brought. Thats were I would look first.
Hello Ken. Good Video. New sub here. No annoying music, no hidden sales pitch. Good info.
I appreciate the kind words.....More informative video to come on topic with reselling..... Ill see you out in the trenches!!!!
