Great looking aircraft, the Yak-3 with the 1350hp P&W R200014 cylinder radial engine looks like it would make a great air racer in the unlimited class!

Well, the original plane has V-12 water-cooled engine, this one looks differently! This one looks like single seater Yak11: It was based on the radial-powered Yak-3U, but with the new Shvetsov ASh-21 seven-cylinder radial replacing the ASh-82 of the Yak-3U

Beautiful aircraft and the sound is great. My favorite part working at the plane's of fame was detailing these aircrafts and learning there history. Great to see it flying.

I notice it has "C-Series" Pratt & Whitney R-2800. THE finest gasoline engines EVER BUILT. They came out too late for WW2 because the stupid British with their sleeve valve engines got waay behind on production, they cried to Churchill, who cried to Roosevelt - who shipped AN ENTIRE YEAR'S PRODUCTION of Sunnen Centerless Grinders to England. So we head to fight War2 without the best engines ever made.

With all the mechanical engineering advanced nowadays I wonder if they can rebuild the motor to run it on exhibition...the fighter is too valuable to risk on flight...but to hear the motor running would be a privilege!!!!

I was a Flying Instructor at Souris ,Man., flying Ansons a Twin engine SFTS trainer in the RCAF in 1943/44. and we had a Harvard , the Canadian version of the PT6 which we used to keep our hand in on single engine aircraft. A great Aircraft. The following year I transferred to the Royal Navy Fleet Air arm and ended up flying he F4U Corsair. I must say that my experience on the Harvard stood me in good sted

Nice! I love the sound of the 9 cylinder radial as they manoeuvre. There's one at our local air field and the owners company takes people up for joy flights in it. I've gotta take a spin in it before I die. 😁👍🏼

My dad trained in the T-6 during Korean era at some airfield near Biloxi. I wish I could remember the name of his instructor... The guy flew the "Hump" during WWII and was apparently just the nicest person on the base.

Did you attend Parks College? I graduated in 74.

These are three great planes of WW II . I love seeing them and listening to them.

The AT-6 design was copied by the Japanese and turned eventually into the "ZERO" fighter. It had been lightened and had smaller fuel capacity in order to be agile And something about radial engine airplanes reminds me of Harley Davidson motorcycles...
