I was on holiday in NYC this April with my cat Tomo and when the earthquake happened, Tomo got up so fast and just looked around as the windows shook

They had the same exact reaction time.

Note that they didn't react BEFORE the quake hit lol.

"Damn why my ass shaking?"

They’re so cute! We recently had a 4.8 magnitude quake here in New Jersey. I live about 20 minutes from the epicenter, so it was pretty intense (at least for a place that pretty much NEVER gets earthquakes). My one cat freaked out and didn’t calm down for a few hours afterwards. The other one slept right through it. Granted, he’s 18 years old, so his reflexes aren’t as good. Still, I would have expected some reaction out of him, but… nothing!

They are on alert

Not only did they wake up simultaneously, one looked left and one looked right at 0:42.

They were like "WTF, is someone breaking in!"

The frightening moment of an earthquake is when you know there is nowhere to run. I was woken up at 4:30 a.m. one morning in Camp Pendelton by a strong tremor. Being a young Marine, the first thing I did was jump out of bed in a slight panic. My roommate told me to lay back down because there is nothing you can do. There is nothing you can really do when the earth is shaking under your feet except try get out of the building. Fortunately, I have only experienced a couple of small tremors.
