1st MRR Law…running trains shall cause havoc while filming an update…nice layout your building…great work on the grain facility (cool recovery making a step down)…new sub
@@georgiasunbelt thank you, the train problems turned out to be operator error. Lol there was debris on the track that derailed the Norfolk Southern.
Yeah...I should probably actually write down what I need to mention instead of sticking post-it notes everywhere...LOL. Also...and that's why I don't try to run trains while I do update videos...LOL. It's like they know you're recording, but not them! Love all the lights! I'm looking forward to trying out that aspect on my own layout! As for the extra doors on your elevator...I believe they are emergency exits, but would obviously need the fire department to show up first with some ladders...or maybe they have emergency rope ladders inside to use?
@@KandWRailroader talking about the fire department. When the mill was first built back in the late 80s, the fire department ran a drill to see if they could make it to the top using only the stairs. At over 200 feet tall they didn’t make it very far. Hahaha
@@DuCo_Loco I'm sure not! They had the same problem when the DeBruce elevator exploded in Wichita about 20 some odd years ago. Grain elevators are worse than skyscrapers in that regard.
That escalated quickly!
Unfortunately I didn't make the show this year. I recently had some health issues that has put me out of work.
Nice update looks good
hi kelly !!! nice pike, for sure !!! i will try your 180 grit roads very soon !!! aren't double track layouts the very best ?? most of my friends said "don't do it.... too complicated", and then when they come over to run trains they just love it !!! several wish they had done the same !!! i might have missed it, but will you add a diesel service facility soon ? please keep the videos coming !!
@@dennisarmes3473 not planning on doing a locomotive shop. I’m pretty much modeling my county. Thanks for watching.
Lol
Goldsboro!!!??? Wilbers BBQ! and a layout, that could be a great day
Wilbur’s barbecue is definitely some good eating. It’s not the original family running it anymore, but it is there kinfolk using the same recipes.
Holy cow...a working forklift. Amazing...
@@KandWRailroader he’s fixin to build a container forklift in the next couple weeks. We got the Raleigh train show to get ready for then back to building.
The pallets and racks outside the warehouse look really good.
I'm so glad you mentioned the existence of these in a different thread...I'm totally going to make sure my road along the Arkansas River is driveable...even if it is only one way. It will still be cool for a video!
I have watched you build that valley with the river scene, I am impressed. Luckily Duplin county is very flat. LOL
@@DuCo_Loco Well I had to do something different...the rest of my layout is flat...but so is eastern Colorado and central/western Kansas.
Oh that is so awesome! Guess I have something new to collect!
Awesome feed mill complex! And the vines on the old barn and silo...amazing!
@@KandWRailroader thank you very much! Your videos have been an inspiration to me. I hope you don’t mind if I copy you a little bit. I watch you each week. Your layout is massive compared to mine, I could not imagine having to build that much stuff, because what I have is almost overwhelming at times. I started out with N scale but after having my N scale stuff when I was a teenager, I found out in my 50s I couldn’t see it anymore LOL. So I switched to HO.
@@DuCo_Loco Copy me?! HA! Where do you think I get my ideas! Stolen! Every single one...LOL. I didn't even like N scale in my 20's, but I did consider it for this layout iteration. I'm just too interested in at least attempting to achieve as much realism as possible to go with anything but HO, even if means sacrificing prototypical train lengths, which would have literally been the only reason to do N scale. Thanks for watching, I'll be doing the same!
@@KandWRailroader I still have my my N scale trains. I was thinking about building a 2 1/2‘ x 5‘ module to go up under my HO layout. I still have a lot of N scale rolling stock and scenery to build a nice layout. The main reason I went with HO was to interact with the HO scale RC trucks in our club.
@@DuCo_Loco HO scale RC? I didn't know that was a thing! Cool! If you have the stuff, you might as well use it.
@@KandWRailroader yes, I have a buddy of mine, He is a freaking genius when it comes to building remote control stuff in HO scale. He has built a crane that can pick up containers, wreckers that can back up to a truck and haul it away, and high rails that will get on the rail and drive down the track. That is why my layout has so much highway on it. I try to balance the RC trucks with the trains. When we have train night over at my house, there’s about four of us running trucks around and he gets pretty interesting.
Guys will see this and say "Hell yeah" ... Im guys
That's a lovely set you have there.
Thank you, it still has a long way to go.
Couldn't have done any better :-)
good work
