Past team's had summer European trips that allowed week's of summer practice or we're returning players with familiarity on each other's game this team didn't even know each other's name until school started. This year will have a Longer growing together period

Once they guys get used to playing together, which they are already, they will be tough to beat. Playing the number of guys that Underwood can, they are going to wear teams down. And can these guys shoot, this may be the best shooting team Illinois has ever had. These guys, barring major injuries, are going to give Illini fans a lot to cheer about. Go Illini.

Gophers fan here. I was genuinely worried about this game, however our new quarterback Brosmer as made a huge difference for us this season. Without him I believe Illinois would have won. The team is definitely on a roll!

Turnovers have been a serious problem throughout Brad's era. Love Brad, but encouraging fights in practice ? Nahhhhh Coach. If they happen, they happen, but encouraging ? STUPIDO.

Agree that the Illini were dominated on both sides of the line... We're very thin on the lines, and with injuries we're even thinner... Not enough depth for sure.... But we are better under coach B and staff, than we have been for the past 3 or 4 decades... so things are looking up... IMHO

Josh McCray should have played more because he was doing great.

Throughout the season post game comments have continually been "we haven't done our job at our position, but we just have to do a better job." This is getting old. Obviously , we don't have the personnel to compete in certain B10 games. Up the NIL, and get some 4-5* players. This is what it's going to take.

Illinois FB needs an URGENT upgrade in talent. Top-to-bottom upgrade. Here is the deal. Bowl eligibility no longer has any meaning. It is playoff eligibility. Unless a team is in the top 12, or at the very least in the conversation of being playoff-bound, it is useless. A serious Illinois team must compete for the B10 title every year. IF we are serious. If we are not serious it is a different matter.

What a great point about NIL. The University of Illinois has an enrollment of 40+ thousand students. Its alumni base is > 500,000 alive today per U/I. Now, its obvious that at least half of them couldn't care less about the athletics program. But, the fan base of Illinois sports is easily >1M I would guess. So, using 500,000 as a base isn't out of line. If each of 500,000 people gave $1 to NIL, it would be something. If each gave $10, the current NIL would be almost doubled if you assume $3-5M current. That puts IL's NIL at the low end of what OR is supposed to have. Now, if each donated $100, IL's NIL would be $50M. yes, its unrealistic to think every living alumnus will give $100. But, it isn't unrealistic to think the equivalent of that value is obtainable after you consider that some will donate well in excess of $100 which should more than balance for some who don't . IL has an NIL organization today. It seems to me that a good fund raising campaign would easily raise that much before you even consider the other sources that are "actually" what NIL was supposed to be about (advertising for businesses, etc.).
