So when embarking on a course of strategy development, how can we be sure that the resulting trade executions will meet our objectives, fit with our own personal style, and be manageable around our lifestyle and other commitments? Thank you for this very informative video! I am trying to figure out how to code in amibroker MACD as a market regime filter as you described, MACD (10,13) > 0 against the index, not able to do so. Can you please help? Thanks.
If you don’t have the discipline and patience to be a break even poker player, you’re likely not going to fare well in trading. I spent 11 months on a desk and the observation I made was good traders make the lion’s share of their money in 1-2-3 opportunities a month or quarter; they are wrong about 50% of the time but their winning trades are double or triple digit and their losers are single (%) digit losers. The most common characteristic of each was their indifference towards pnl and their ability to execute on their specific setups. I’d say it’s probably a 1 in 500 chance of success over > 5 years, but I’d also point out that the education transfers to many other areas of life, business and decision making in general. Understanding risk must be learned it cannot be taught.
Excellent presentation of a fascinating topic
no alpha in first 20 minutes, don't know if I can keep on keeping on
No black guys in the development teams.
Am from Nigeria please train me 🙏🏾
The audio quality isn’t the greatest, fortunately there’s a transcript to follow along with

humm, call me a dinosaur but price will always be price right?
correct
On trading view use free indicator called EzSMC. There is a RUclips video with the free pinescript. MACD, SMT indictor
Then it trades against you. For the person who programmed it .
Or this prompt: During bullish trends in the GBPUSD what is the percentage of weeks that the lows of the week form during the Tuesday London session and the high form during the Thursday London session. And visa versa during bearish conditions... High forming Tuesday London session and low forming Thursday London session.
any promt will work as long as you provide the data and ask what you want..!! If this is what you want, yes it will work.
Would this prompt work: Give the percentage of weeks that the weekly high or low form on the GBPUSD during the London session over the last 10 years. And of that percentage what was the percentage of weeks that the opposite of the high or low form on Thursday London session.
I didnt wacth the video completely but saw your comment. Are you asking or telling?
So if we all us AI, where’s the edge?
Not using it ? maybe :D
The Dark Pools
@@brianeminicrude60 what is the dark pools?
knowing how to use AI for your benefit is the edge.
It doesn’t give you an edge necessarily, only enhances you current edge via automation and more data
AI stocks will dominate 2024. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA. I'll also take these other recommendations you made.
If you lack knowledge about market investing tactics, get advice from a financial counselor.
Agreed! this is why I work with one. My $520k portfolio is well-matched for every market season yielding 85% rise from early last year to date. I and my advsor are working on more figures for this year. IMO, financial advisors are the most sought-after professionals after doctors.
I could really use the expertise of this advsors.
My CFA *Julianne Iwersen-Niemann* a renowned figure in her line of work. I recommend researching her credentials further... She has many years of experience and is a valuable resource for anyone looking to navigate the financial market..
She appears to be well-educated and well-read. I ran a Google search on her name and came across her website… thank you for sharing.
The future has arrived. This is an excellent presentation of a highly topical yet little-understood application of AI to Technical Analysis and Trading. Alan Clement’s presentation is concise, measured, clear, and simple, yet it comprehensively analyses how to benefit from AI. It breaks down the complexity of the issues into bite-sized chunks, gives practical examples of each step in the process, and demonstrates how to use AI to support and improve your Trading performance. The presentation is not just about Trading - it includes an insightful application of AI as a psychological coach. The transformative impact of AI is truly revolutionary. Undoubtedly, cyborg and hybrid Trading will be the new norm shortly. Relevant risks are given due consideration - one being that you can’t afford to be left behind.

I like the format because it's very systematic and not looking for excitement or despair just properly interpreting the most important market (US) and your home turf. I have two things in mind that could be valuable for your followers: 1. An opening with the highlights of the past period (expectations met / not met) and at the end your strong conviction takes in terms of what you expect for the upcoming period 2. If you could dig somewhat deeper into the markets and sectors and filter out the messages that they tell us this could increase the value of your presentation.
great presentation. possible to post the slides in the chat ? looking to sign up with you
How do you decide when to go to cash in the Monterey portfolio?
When a combination of market volatility and market momentum flips its market regime filter to negative.
The backtest is wrong! He even says it in the presentation: he does not use point-in-time data, therefore result is severely shifted upwards due to survivorship bias
there are ways to measure the fallen angels of NQ. We could bring them back in the backtest i guess to see if when they fell apart the strategy holded them, but i personally think that's unlikely. Since : that strategy invest in strength, both relative and absolute, and on top of that filters out strength with 2 different layers (above 40 SROC and only top 12 picks), it does protect you a lot from the "about to die" stocks. And if even these pass the test and then fail, it's only 5%. I think a good to this strategy is to maybe add a correlation grading system ? so if APPL and SAMSUNG both got selected, we would have to make sure their correlation over the past N period (probably the same as SROC period for robustness). Just as a safe guard. Also worth diversifying across different sectors not just TECH, and maybe add some bonds into the risk off moments for the cash % of the portfolio
Alan what is the best method to contact you
Fantastic! how do I contact you ?
You can make contact through the website helixtrader.com/
I started trading the Monterey at the beginning of the year. I just checked my YTD return and it's at 36%. Very pleased!
I‘m worried by the rather narrow leadership by technology (and even within that sector). Other US indices like RSP give a much less convincing picture. Behind all that is debt expansion in all its forms that will not go on forever at this pace. Long with Stop seems appropriate.
Thanks a lot. Love ur vids!
Thank you Alan, excellent video. Interesting to see some of the nuances of AmiBroker.
Salute to Alan. Thank you for sharing !!
With the Bollinger band strategy how do you buy on the close (on the same day I'm assuming) below the level of the lower BB when you don't know the level of the lower bollinger band till the stock has actually closed? Is it an approximation?
There are techniques around that allow you to determine the future price at which a signal will occur, allowing you to place an order at the exact price level ahead of time. Google "Predicting future indicator values without having inverse function" for more info.
@@HelixTrader Thank you for replying. Much appreciated!
Coded this up in Amibroker and iterated through the changes according to your video. Returns were pretty much spot on with each. Nicely done!
For your swing trading strategy that you presented do you sell when it hits 70 rsi-2 intraday or at the close?
All entries and exits are at the close of the day.

Excellent market review! - Drped on your channel by the buzz word „momentum“ which ranks top on my list when it comes to investment strategies - I will check out more of your videos and probably come up with comments and questions. Needless to say that I subscribed to your channel as it seems that you cover exactly what I’m looking for. Thank you!
Good stuff
Very nice and informative video. Where do you calculate SROC and what's the formula for that?
It's just an EMA of the Rate of Change. Ref: www.chart-formations.com/indicators/sroc
@@HelixTrader Thanks for the reply. Is there any scanner available for sroc values for Indian stocks? I have made a scanner in Googlesheet wherein I have used sma instead of Ema. Will it make any impact on the outcome? I have taken ema(21) of today and have taken ema(21) of 50 period ago and calculated ROC. Am I right? What values are valid for long term investment? Pl enhance my knowledge. Thanks in advance. 🙏
Further, I have modified my sroc instead of 50 days, I took averages of 30,90and 180 days ema values and calculated sroc. Is this the right approach? Please enlighten. 🙏
@@HelixTrader Why is it called dual momentum?
@@HelixTrader Normal ROC selections and SROC selections differ very much. Which will give best results and most beneficial in long term? Have you done any back test?
Will you be posting the video afterwards?
I believe there will be a livestream option, also with access to the recordings afterwards. Check out the link in the description for more information.

Fantastic! Amazing to have all this for free.
Probably the best trading course I've ever seen. Theory followed by concrete examples. But what would be the outcome of the bollinger bands strategy if he took into account the trading cost 🤔
