Hi Alex, I admire that you are taking.a risk to address this, these topics beg to be addressed. “Impressive, most impressive.”However, there are several perspectives that you may want to view this from before doing any knee jerk reactions. For example, the Tate brothers did incorrectly point some of the blame on France and the truth is that France was just the host country. The decision was solely on the Olympic committee. Theu Olympic committee and the artist are to blame, 90% the artists fault and 10% the Olympic committee for not censoring the artist. It’s also a shame to see Christian’s speak without doing a thorough investigation. It is a bad representation of Christianity when we don’t know all the facts and do a knee jerk reaction. Slow to anger and slow to speak, slow helps you think through your arguement and presentation be for making foolish incorrect statements. There are plenty of French friends who I know who believe and are just as upset with the artist and the committee. One life lesson I learned from football is regarding assignment and alignment. Know your assignments, do your homework on the playbook, do your research on your opponent and adjust your assignments. The in the field align with your assignments. Then there would be those teammates who are all energy and all hyped up but failed to learn the assignments and did not align. Energy is great but when they miss their plays it’s just penalties and loss of yards. In my life experiences I have observed that people who react negatively to the church usually have been hurt personally by the church. And I have experienced that if I don’t show myself as an enemy to them, but instead validate their pain, stand beside them and show empathy for that hiurt then offer some healing, some empathy, some help and maybe offer to hear them out and try to think of a resolution, I make a potential path of alignment for that individual. Hate and knee jerk reactions never goes well, remember the sin of Shechem. Remember Levi, the cities of refuge and what it takes to be a Kohen/priest…putting your feelings aside for the sinners to be redeemed. Yes we should stand for our faith, but the same way Yeshua did and modeled. He was not political, he was not fighting his enemies. He took the insults. His stance was to endure and what he modeled was the strong testimony. These are just two other paradigms on this topic that I have to offer. “I have the high ground.” The force is strong with you.
