My Fire Emblem: Awakening has the same label as well. Plays fine on my U.S. NEW 3DS XL. I tend to collect as well, but I am keeping mine, since Fire Emblem games are very $$$$.

Are this World editions region free? Or only works in America + those countries. I am asking becauae I am from Europe.

It's the halal version for countries where muslims exists. Personally I feel the Australian version are the worst as the label are too big and covers part of the cover art.

as long as I know I am buying the world edition and it's a fair price it's fine, but they better not pull a switcharoo on me if i order a US copy. but yeah since region locking died down you can get some good deals, for example, the dark souls trilogy with all DLC included for PS4 is like only $40 if you import it

I also have the World Edition of a few games including Luigi's mansion. I don't care I'm just really happy to have that version to play since it's a rare game. I know as a collector it's not worth as much but I think it's still awesome to have it.

As the market is transitioning to digital and physical copy is slowly going out, it doesn't matter really, Its still the same game, and people whine about something printed on the cover like its a big deal? that's some first world problems right there. a true collector still keeps it regardless. its still a physical game that bears an ESRB rating.

There is nothing wrong with the World Edition at all. I would and have returned them to Amazon when they weren't listed properly. They are usually listed slightly cheaper than US games.

The problem is solely on the 'value' side of it and the issue there is if said world edition is confused for a standard NTSC/U release and sold for the same price. Very often a world edition labeled as such may sell for half the price or less as the regular release. Yet on Amazon it's very common to have these world editions under the NTSC listing and sold for a higher price on average than what said world editions would go for on somewhere like eBay. So you think you're getting a good price and then it ends up being the wrong version of the game. I think it's so prominent on Amazon because most sellers either don't know or don't care and where the games sell for more money it must still be more profitable even considering the returns they have to pay for. The only good thing about Amazon is that you can very easily return things for free especially if you live close to a UPS store but the rule of thumb should be that you avoid buying new games in particular from Amazon for older titles no longer in production especially if the price seems too good to be true unless you think it's worth the gamble. Heck many times you can even order modern or last gen stuff like PS4 games and get sent the far cheaper PAL version. So really it's not just a Nintendo problem.
