While at a ummer BBQ - I sighted a gator while flying my Mavic The gator was unfazed by downdraft but I didn't wish to disturb him/her too much - so I got close then veered up... came back down down, and two nastier LARGER critters appeared! (Thanks to green screen)....

    Pretty easy to assemble only rough time I have is putting the roof on. After inserting all the points and corners I'm left with one or two that the tarp won't stretch far enough to reach. Any suggestions/tricks to getting the roof on all 8 points? Thanks!

      I did one today it take long to do except for dealing with the roof the top 4 corners wouldn't go in after I got it in I started having the same problem you're having I never had this trouble before with similar ones I put up have you found the trick to getting those corners right

    Beautiful footage! Are there any restrictions to flying here?

    • @timothycole7410
      @timothycole7410 4 года назад

      I believe there are now. You have to stay away from overflying the Park area and fly at an offset distance.

      @@timothycole7410 Ah ok.. I've driven by there a few times. I fly FPV freestyle drones, and it would be a cool spot. Flying at an offset wouldn't be ideal though. Thanks for the reply!

    • @timothycole7410
      @timothycole7410 6 лет назад

      actually yes -- but make sure you use guide (guy) lines -- I had 12-14" steel pins at the 4 corners to help counter wind loading... this seem key to having the frame last more than a season.

    Hi Timothy. I was really looking forward to this new modified <90° tilt rack. On the earlier version, the crosspieces were cut to 20". This rack is narrower, but now you have a "from the wall" measuring system. I am weak minded and have trouble making the switch over (I have even more trouble with the metric system). Can you give us the length of the cross-piece pipe cuts. I know they are less than 20"....... are they 12"? 14"? 16"? I need to keep it simple. Thanks [I have now idea what you were talking about when you wrote "(suggest -- measure your keel to cockpit lip (cr) for croaming -- this is typically, the larger diameter )." I loved the clarity you had in the first video, so I am not entirely stupid. And thanks again.

      @timothycole7410 6 лет назад

      sorry I just got back on YOUtbe after staying away for 1-2 years! Time just wasn't there. The cross items were 16" ... and I have now a 3rd mod which I will post soon as I had to move the yaks & rack "outside" in FL sun & rains! This one setup for a tarp roof. Still PVC. And I'll strive to be as clear as I can...

    Very nice. I copied most of this for my two kayaks. Much better way to store them. Thanks for the idea.

    • @timothycole7410
      @timothycole7410 7 лет назад

      thanks Richard! Glad it helped -- I use this rack constantly and has been a great to pull/push yaks even with car nearby.... saves time from jockeying about vehicles....

  • @timothycole7410
    @timothycole7410 7 лет назад

    Had to shrink (aka modified) the width of the cheap & versatile & multi-yak rack to fit cars -- and provide room. Made the OVERALL rack 23-24 inches wide (from the wall) to accommodate my kayaks (suggest -- measure your keel to cockpit lip (cr) for croaming -- this is typically, the larger diameter ). This allows you to slide your yaks in at an acute angle >60-75 degrees and store yaks on their sides (not quite 90-deg tilts) -- Being on the sides is the preferred orientation to reduce indentations.. You can see the final angle my yaks as they "rest" in above slideshow.
