Movie Wars Podcast: Alien Vs Predator (Ep. 0002)
Honestly the blood scene from the temple of doom is real dark
There’s also a bunch of rubber hoses
The red trunks were in the original Superman design because they evoked circus strongman which were absolutely a thing back in the 1930s. People nowadays don't make that connection because no one alive now has seen a circus strong man with their own eyes.
I want to be a circus strongman
Oh brother where art thou was a small but good role
His performance in oh brother, where art thou is perfection.
Crazy!!! I actually played the role of Young “Jidge” or babe as a kid! John Goodman was an amazing guy! So totally down to earth! His part was finishing up and he was done filming, but he took time to hang around with me and just chill! Very cool experience
Love to hear stories like this.
Speed racer mentally broke the Wachowski's
Fred Flintstone. Iconic.
"King Ralph" is one of my favorites of Goodman. Him "playing" cricket is a crack up! 😂
John goodman is john goodman because of this movie for me.
Same. And TBL is one of my favorites because of Walter.
He’s amazing in Treme too.
Speed Racer Goodman is one of the best
Dude, speed racer was fire
Speed racer was a gem of a movie i loved how trippy it was.
That underlying insecurity coming from Walter is what made the character. Like he learned to repress those instincts to survive in Vietnam.
Love that take.
Lol speed racer doesn't even get the respect of a clip
?
Definitely my favorite character in the movie
Same. Just out of our element here!
I liked him in 10 Cloverfield Ln
Walter was the best part of the movie! FVCKING AMATUERS DUDE!
He is literally the greatest piece of that great film
Agree. When he’s yelling at Donny 5 mins in I knew the movie was for me.
I agree, his scenes were my favorite in The Big Lebowski too! Even in his small roles he absolute kills them. Loved him as the “Bible salesman” in O Brother Where Art Thou
People underestimated John Goodmans creepy factor in Oh Brother Where Art Thou. When he took on three men at once, there was something terrifying in his calculated strength and violence. Then to see him in 10 Cloverfield Lane just made sense to me.
Hes so good at provoking emotion
100%
I once saw a movie after clicking through the channels where Goodman was playing a person who knew he was about to be assassinated. I picked up on that almost instantly long before i saw the assassin move behind him. The main character finished his conversation and walked away and as the camera panned back to him, Goodman's character was gone. This guy is one of the legendary actors. Never found out what movie that was.
"Barton Fink", was one of if not his best performance. He was terrifying. Also, though it was tragically poorly received he was phenomenal in, "10 Cloverfield Lane".
Dude wearing ear buds because he doesn't want the headphones to mess up his hair is a turd 😂
He’s a professional musician and those in ears cost more than my car.
@@moviewarspodcaststill couldn’t just wear the headphones, had to bring in his own….
@@sknapp19911 If you spent that much on earbuds wouldn't you!? I'd wear them every chance I got
@@sknapp19911 such a weird thing to get on someone about. yall some freaks lmao
Or he might prefer using ear buds. The fact you think think you can determine the motivation of a person you dont know at all and have never been around makes you look stupid as hell
This movie wouldn’t be 10 percent as good as it is without John Goodman
Not a fan of the movie and I still enjoy goodmans performance in it enough to rewatch it
Daniel day lewis. Gaining or losing weight for a role--like Bale, or Bridges, or McConaughey, or Hardy--is impressive. But no one takes on a character and BECOMES that person like daniel day lewis. True method actor. There will be blood, lincoln, the crucible, etc. Best actor of the last 50 years easy.
You’re spot on
Movie was boring as shit
and that’s why you guys are not directors😂
Seth is a director.
It’s pretentious of you to say it’s pretentious of him. He has the accolades to run his projects how he sees fit. It is you random guy who is being pretentious. It was not pretentious of me to say that about you because I am a random guy like you.
Most pretentious comment I've ever read.
@ Pretentious: attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed. That’s you. I said in my reply I’m a nobody just like you are. Therefore, definitionally not pretentious. You’re so pretentious you use words incorrectly to appear smart.
I dont think its because Nolan doesn't trust his actors but for actors to be geunuine and fresh with what they are acting. Its a movie where the characters dont know whats happening. Good move in my opinion
The movie struggle with theaters, because there was a global pandemic at the time
That’s true BUT I was actually one of the people who thought the trailer was very weak and decided to wait to watch it on DVD. Then everyone I talked to said it was more boring than confusing and I just never got around to it. I do hate when trailers reveal too much, but likewise if a trailer bores me it almost always ends up being a boring film as well (not always, but frequently in my experience).
Tenet was weak
No. But it wasn't strong.
It’s a good movie but confusing
Nolan hasn’t had a solid release since Interstellar, fanboys’ll tell you otherwise, they’re wrong.
@@thebigragu9952 have we been watching the same movies?
@dieterlinden6349 Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer? Yeah, all kinda mid. Even Interstellar is just a cheap copy of space odyssey.
Stedi-cam: exists James Cameron: 😈
Great list, I’d have to get Heat in my top 5 I think
Just use a chicken
The steady can wasn’t invented until Rocky. I would have thought it was one of the first things they came up with
Imagine Sly trying to direct the steadicam operator.
This made me chuckle. Especially Cop Land Sly.
It looks like the opening scene to the Bobby’s world cartoon
you know what else happened in 2001?
Bruh😂
RIP, PATRICK 🙏❤ !!!
I have an idea on this movie I'm gonna make in the future.its not PG it's rated R.these people look inside a coffin turns out there's a light to bright that there faces melt gruesomely.
❤❤❤❤😘😘😘😘
He's like the wind😏
I see what cha did there. . .
Classic
He got more jumps than many airborne vets
Falling down with a badass flick. I was living in Hollywood at the time when this movie came out and my girlfriend said you know what you haven't taken me out on a date and I want to see this movie and I'm like shit woman I'm always paying for the dates and besides I want to see this movie too so I'll be paying this time next time it's on you but still a great flick and we humped wholeheartedly in the very back row and then another time in the Chinese theater watching the movie punchline no consider this two humans that look like they stepped out of a mad Max movie set Mohawks that we both had spikes chains and leather amd punk rock as all hell gets out
I had to look it up, Michael Douglas was a producer on Cuckoos nest, he wasnt in it.
That’s correct he produced it also did some casting on it too.
This whole movie is a trip lmao
It really is
What is Cranston’s best role?
Janitor on Scrubs. 😂
Love the Buckee’s shirt
Seth wears it proudly. And frequently.
@@moviewarspodcast lmao
