    What a great way to get a 360* view, a pleasant days drive, no mad traffic to contend with. This would be a terrific way to see the countryside of unused rails of same gauge and still on the ground. Well I suppose if you know the timetables you would be right to sneak a ride along the main rails as well. As such. We have a magnificent country, just look at the surroundings. By jeez, that would have been a good climb on the little rocket. What a great day out.

    As a 14 year old Kid, my friend and I bought a VW engine in pieces, literally in a basket (milk boxes) for 10 Dollars. With absolutely no knowledge of mechanics, we took out a Chilton's mechanics guide for 40 hp VW from the Library and put the motor back together again. It worked to our surprise. We bought a Bug from a local junk yard for 25 Dollars and put the new engine in it. We had the car for 3 years, drove it around my friends farm until we were old enough to get licenses then sold it later and used the money to buy a sailboat;

    Here's another good warning: Don't forget to let go of the crank immediately when it fires. When I got my first speeder, sometimes I'd get stuck with my hand on the crank. If I let go wrong, I'd get nailed by the handle when it came around again, and that made me reluctant to let go when I was stuck. Silly problem for sure, but it happened several times.

    • @dozerfarms
      @dozerfarms Год назад

      If it's a crank that allows you to start it both ways, you're not supposed to grab the handle fully (make a U-shape with your hand) in event of a kickback

    Albert, Great Video but one really bad safety issue I am sorry I have to point out for all who watch it. Your Dad left the crank handle in position! He could have accidently knocked it back into the motor at any time as he lent over to adjust the mixture etc. I have seen this happen and the effects of a spinning crank handle on the human body is not pleasant with a trip to hospital the order of the day. Other than that keep up the good work and looks like a job well done. Mark
