i've been systematically reading each issue of the 1988 Wolverine series. started in august.. i managed to score some of the original issues too and this particular one was part of a stack i bought from a comic book seller on Etsy. i actually think it's one of my favorites that involves the X-men. but mostly i prefer his solo missions and Elsie Dee and Albert adventures. Best thing about having the actual pages in hand is being able to read the fan letters to the editor. and yeah many of them were livid. they thought Wolverine was about to be removed permanently or that he'd always be less than his former self. I can see why they were concerned and upset but really it's just crafty story telling. i also have several issues in hand that follow this one and it gets pretty wild. When i first got those copies i wasn't really prepared to be hooked. i thought i could just enjoy the art more than anything... no... i'm obsessed. i had to actually go back to the very first 1988 issue and catch up. i already liked Wolverine but now i love his character. everything they've done to portray him off these pages is just a weak frail shadow. and as much as i love Hugh Jackman, even he falls short of portraying him accurately. One issue in particular just about sums up his entire personality and that's "Promises to Keep" ....a complete stand alone story that has absolutely nothing to do with anything except a moment of reflection while he's in a bar in Madripoor, remembering a tragic event. He's not above revenge for the right reasons.

The bone claws are a retcon, for those who may not know. His claws were man-made as was shown in several books prior to Fatal Attractions.

This was good but it also puts into perspective how no matter what Logan does for Jean he will always be 2nd choice which is insane. But this is good overall keep it up FRESH 🎉🎉🎉. Cant wait for the next part.

I was surprised to learn that a LOT of people did NOT like this story and they hated how Magneto was written! I liked it quite a bit, and think that this should have been the FINAL Magneto story!

IMO, they should have left them as they were, especially Dr.Light, guy was a monster, they saved more people from him doing that again.

Love how slicing Magneto was against the Comic Code, but Wolverine's adamantium ripped out of his body (which counts as body horror) was OK.

One of the best crossovers , I liked bone claw wolverine it had some of the best written wolverine storys

This was fire 🔥 fresh i loved how everything is connected i cant wait for the next one. Also i think it would be awsome if you could go over a comic where bruce and Hulk come to an understanding where instead of Bruce trying to not change into the hulk. He accepts the hulk willingly and accepts when he changes that would also be amazing as well. Keep it up FRESH 🎉🎉🎉.
