Do your grades even matter for college baseball?

If you're a D3 recruit, your grades are everything. If you're going D1, your grades probably don't matter as much as you think they do. Are you smart enough to get recruited?
The biggest lie I was told in HS baseball

Nobody seems to talk about how crucial pitching velocity is to getting recruited. Are you throwing hard enough to go D1?

Dude’s wearing his mom’s pearl necklace.
💀 Bruh you didn’t have to do him like that.
No shit. Who tf is this dummy? Get him tf outta here....
What was your gpa
4.23!
Can you talk about your academics? The GPA is weighted or not? Any other EC needed?
Did Columbia give you an Athletic Scholarship?
Ivy League schools don’t give scholarships for academics or athletics; they do give financial aid though
@@CarlosPerez-lr3zbDoes the financial aid cover most expenses like a scholarship?
I want to play D1 and I have good command and off speed but my velo is just a touch below what they are looking for. I’m throwing 84-86 touching 87 as a junior right now and I’m getting absolutely 0 looks by even d2 or d3 schools. Really is hard on me right now and I’m putting everything I have into pitching but get nothing out of it.
Yeah dude it’s a grind. But that’s exactly what was happening for me. Things really picked up during the summer after my junior year. I got tons of D3 offers and a handful of D1 offers by September of my senior year. Keep reaching out to coaches, getting to showcase events, and getting better on your own. The summer will be big for you man keep grinding. Summer showcases are key and emailing schools with the exact date and times of when you’re pitching for your HS team, summer team, and at showcases are huge. Things will piece themselves together for you
Appreciate this so much, what position do you play and what’s your workout plan?
Appreciate you man! I was a LHP. Check out the video on my workout plan and getting better in general! ruclips.net/video/6pQagtTQPx0/видео.html
Thanks for these videos Danny. I'm currently a junior in HS sitting 84 touching 87 and I want to play at similar schools that you've been offered to play at. Hearing your story gives me so much faith bro, thank you
Hey man how did the recruiting process go?
How did you train to get your velo higher? I am debating whether I should try to find a program or do it on my own but I’m not sure what’s better
I’ll make that video this week. Stay tuned 👀
Thanks so much for these videos. It’s really hard to find info on ivy leagues and their baseball recruiting processes for our sons. Keep them coming!
What was your velo your winter of junior year? And if you don't mind listing your scores such as SAT, GPA, ACT, etc. I appreciate the video man.
I was sitting around 80 during my jr winter. I put in a lot of work and was sitting around 85 in August. SAT was 1410 with a 4.23 GPA
@@dannyregan17 oh okay, did you train with anyone specific like Driveline or Cressey or anything?
@@mihirpatel3908 I was in and out of programs like Boyle and Cressey all through HS. I made the most progress just working out with friends at my hometown gym consistently. I was doing Alpha Destiny’s full body novice program with added cardio when I saw the rapid velocity improvement. I was also working with two pitching coaches. I think its most important that you’re consistent in your training and training hard, and I think that’ll only happen when you genuinely enjoy the program you’re on and the people you’re doing it with. Those programs are obviously very good and I have friends who made huge progress with them but they weren’t necessarily what helped me reach my goals
@@dannyregan17 yeah that’s definitely true, thanks a lot dude !
