Since this video is two years old, I'll assume you've already read Arthur C. Clarke's book and watched the 2010 film? If not, you should do that, as it explains (at least for Sir Clarke) what it all meant.

~ Surprised you mentioned Hobson’s Choice, my favorite Laughton film ✅ Speaking of favorite British films/actors, how’s about reviewing an early career British gem by Alec Guinness, like Holiday (later remade by Princess Latifah in a much more pedestrian version), The Man In The White Suit, or Our Man In Havana, if you haven’t seen one. Also might want to review an early Peter Sellers film like I’m All Right, Jack, which is more than just all right… just a couple of across the pond, off the beaten review path suggestions 😊

~ You missed one of the remakes, In The Good Old Summertime with Judy Garland in 1949, the weakest by far. A music shop replaced the book shop in order to utilize Garland’s reason for being in the film ~

Parfumerie! I discovered this film a bunch of years ago and loved it. I like You've Got Mail but am charmed with the original. I also saw She Love Me on a business trip to London. Which reminds me: I need to listen to the cast album again. Been too long!

This is my favorite movie of all time. I saw it with my grandmother when I was 12 and she had to use all her hankies to wipe my tears. It honored the beautiful book by Harper Lee, and later when I read it again, all the emotions came flooding back. A masterpiece.
