As a descendant of the Jephsons, I am grateful to see your vid. of Mallow Castle. You may have heard a story from the 'Rakes of Mallow'. A young lady wanted an escort to a fine local dance. She was obliged by an unkown person - PROVIDED she carried a certain fur muff with her to the event. But being somewhat arrogant, she felt it unecessary bother with wearing the fur item. She enjoyed the dance, came home and went to bed in her usual bedroom. Next morning, nothing was heard or seen of the young lady - only a pair of 'hoof marks' on the window sill ! Another young Jephson lady married a Mr Preston from Beeston St. Lawrence in Norfolk. He was a railway engineer who went, along with many other British engineers, to build a railway between Moscow and Crackov - right across the previously impassable Pripiet Marches in Lithuania (where Chernobyl nuclear powerstation was later built). Mr. Preston devised a novel way to build a railway across a marsh, by building oaken platforms - which literally floated on the bog surface - on which laid the rails.
