great, how about making a Jumbo Grip, into a Jumbo Max?
It’s the same process as a standard grip, you put layers underneath it makes the jumbo bigger diameter
Play it as it lies you fanny 😂😂😂
The rules are there to help, take advantage of
Rishmeister is wrong there, there is another option...CHEAT 😂😂😂
Surely not 😱😱
@darrenarbergolf 🤣🤣🤣 never...at least never knowingly 👍
Nice one, cheers
Your welcome
Great that, many thanks
You are very welcome.
Very helpful, i have not long started playing Cheers 👍
You are very welcome, it’s a great sport very rewarding. You get out what you put in. Look forward to getting more comments from you
16th medal tee box?
Great spot…
@@darrenarbergolf Just needs sweeping off 👍
thanks Darren youve saved me $$. Managed to transfer my grips easily with your tutorial. Cheers mate!
Keep things simple mate it works for me and im sure others. Tnks for the tips.
You are welcome mate.
Dareen would this be a safe process, with a 3 wood with a graphite shaft.
Removing a graphite is slightly different, you need to pull rather than twisting.
Good idea
Happy to help, the thrill of pitching it in doesn’t stop no matter how many times you do it 👍👍
That's a big old 'back yard' you've got Darbs 😉
It’s been my backyard for the last 35 years mate.
@@darrenarbergolf an mine for thirty 😔
You got some lovely facilities at your new club which I am sure your game will benefit from.
@@darrenarbergolf Theyre really trying Darbs. New nets going in for warm up, new short game area, improvements to the three practise grounds. An awful lot of work going on 👍👍👍 I'm too old to be improving now but for the Juniors Nick is bringing through...School holidays will be brilliant for them 👍
@@KentnDebi It is great to hear, will allow golfers especially, young golfers develop
Super education, off to my first attempt, here's hoping
You will be fine, take it steady I am sure you will be fine.
If I'm changing the grips, why would I save the old worn out grips?
I’ve had one recently thst wanted to keep the grip because it matched the set as it had brand name on, It was still in reasonable condition. It has squally happens if the grip is relatively new.
I really appreciate your help with getting residual stucky tape off with mineral spirits. I also was watching another club pga professional use a heat torch with flame. Iver heat the grip tape and over heated it on a Graphite shaft. It didn't do any damage to the Shaft. Im regriping my entire Bag from Driver to my 60° Lob wedge. So I think you be fine with graphite shafts. Greatly appreciate your videos. I definitely subscribed to your channel and put a like! 😉
Thank you for your support, really appreciate it. Get a few morning club repair ones over the winter.
I see that flipping at the ball whilst putting all the time. Its normally from players in the 80+ age range. They grew up when greens were much longer, agromony wasn't at the level we have now and the 'pop stroke' was needed to get the ball up and rolling. Thank goodness those days are gone 😉
Greenkeeping has come on leaps and bounds along with the equipment that is now readily available to help improve the playing surfaces.
@@darrenarbergolf Yet, funnily enough...a pedestrian mower is the best way to cut a green, given no time constraints or labour issues...
@@KentnDebi correct, however that is general the issue at many club who don’t have the staff to carry out such cutting daily. The demand on green-staff makes time management key to what practices can be carried out.
@@darrenarbergolf AGREED 👍 it's a constant balancing act
@KentnDebi members clubs need a group to f willing volunteers like yourself to help out on the less green keeping side of the things. This in turn allows the highly skilled professionals to focus on key areas as well as the agronomy side of things.
Nice work :) Go round in circles next time brushing :)
Felt like I was going round In circles
Some interesting drinks for on the course there Darbs 👍
Couldn’t manage a lime and soda
@@darrenarbergolf Lifes hard 😉
Ot is mate 🤣🤣🤣
Good effort mate!!
Thank you, gotta get your hands dirty sometimes.
Why would want to save old grips???
It might match the set you have o the rest, it maybe relatively new. Many try to keep superstroke putter grips which are quite expensive.
I'm about to change to jumbo max grips. Will keep the old ones in case they don't work out.
@MichaelParker-zs5yl that’s a great call.
Great video, do you not stagger the widths when applying the masking tape (where the tape width meets)?
You do, which I think I forgot to say in the video.
Top man, Halifax West End would have died years ago without the new members youve brought to the club...ONWARDS!!!
Cheers mate, a club is made up of a collective of people who work hard for the success of the club, I am just a small cog in that wheel.
Next week we want to see you change a pin position 👍👍
That’s for another day
Well done Darren, excellent and funny video, I hope that your North American subscribers can understand your Yorkshire twang over your heavy breathing 🤣🤣
Let’s hope so, obviously not as fit as I need to be 🤣🤣🤣
Good work Darbs, great vid. I’m sure Ian will be appreciative of the help! 🏌️♂️⛳️
Thank you, gotta do your bit.
Great video
Thank you really glad it is of help.
Kid has better form than me
🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Top golfer
Thank you for the comments, in the grand scheme of things I’m ok at golf. Thank you for the compliment Good golfing.
Hi I regrip a lot but if I have a midsize and want to try make it all close to a jumbo do I do 4 wraps at the bottom hand and 2 wraps at the top also or do you know how many wraps I'd need. Much appreciated the video. Thanks.
You would have to make it 6 on the Norton for plus 4, if you have some callipers to measure size would help gauge the size. Should be 1.025” 2 inch from grip cap.
He's so cute!! "We share it together" ❤️
Thank you
DONE!!! Smashed it Thomas 👏👏👏 Funny he talks more in on a short than he does in person 😂😂😂
Once you start you cannot stop him.
@@darrenarbergolf Like a little clockwork toy 🙂
@KentnDebi no he doesn’t stop.
I whack the stick down the shaft through the vent on the grip Darbs, just so I hold the grip as naturally as I can. I seem to remember someone creating a stick to install on the butt of the club...TourStick maybe? I'm old and it cost money, so being a good Tyke I used what I already had and was free 😂😂😂
Don’t like sticking it down vent, aids the odd stone down the shaft 🙈👍
@@darrenarbergolf Maybe the TourStick would work for you Darbs 😉
Well done, great vid
Happy to help, hope it helps your game.
Very helpful tip
Thank you for the feedback, I really hope it helps your golf.
Sorry 😢 Rubbish idea.
Everyone has there own opinion. It’s all about creating feeling and getting a key which helps implement change.
What some of the old goats use to do is lift their lead heel off the ground during the back swing and push it back down to shift weight on the downswing, its really the same thing but can be done on the golf course. Also your timing is off, start the weight transfer while the clubs going up in the backswing, that gives you maximin torque at the top.
It’s like Harry Penick’s magic move in his little red book, right elbow, left heel
Thank you. I know that the weight shift is essential for a good golfswing, but I swing so fast with my arms so I don't have time for the weight shift.. timing is so crucial.
The step drill might help, have done a video on that a couple of weeks ago.
Great tip. Simple but shouldn’t be overlooked
Thank you.
Wow what a great and simple tip, never seen this before so many thanks.
You are welcome, hope it helps the game.
Very good Darren. You simplify the swing.
The swing can be complicated enough without trying to complicate it even further.
Can't say I've seen those tees in Canada at my golf shops. I tee mine low like the first one using wooden pegs. My first clubs were Walter Hagen blades and the drivers were persimmon woods.. cheers another fine video.
Hi Mike, hope you are well. I use standard wood pegs and tee it down. I thought they were a worldwide standard. I advice lots of new golfers to use graduated tees to help create some consistency. I used persimmon to start with Gary player blades.
I'm short of length everywhere 😉 I might give this a coat of looking at 👍
It is worth a try mate.
@@darrenarbergolf Anything is worth a try...coming into winter season should give me time to break it all down and rebuild, once again 🤣🤣🤣
@@KentnDebi winter is a great time to get on the practice ground and work on your game without the pressure of competition
@@darrenarbergolf Plans are to improve the short game practise area at Ogden so that will suit me down to the ground 👍
@KentnDebi short game is the key to lowering your scores. Having great short game facilities is a massive help.
It's not that bad if you have a tight lie (like in the video). You just pretend you are using a less lofted club and hit it accordingly. But the shot I can't hit is if you have a fluffy downhill chip -- a bit like the grass above him - only steeper. I get that with greens that have little steep ridges around them. I can't hit those to save my life. I fluff every one -- hitting it high of face of the wedge and the ball barely makes it onto the green. Fluffy grass with a flat lie is easy, but with a steep downhill lie, yikes. I tried hitting that shot with an 8 iron, and that helps some. I still fluff it and hit it high on the face. But since the face is flatter, I get a bit more distance, but still not enough to get to the hole.
I will try and do a video for you and work out a solution which you can use.
@@darrenarbergolf wow thank you.
Question is does the green need to be marked as ground under repair in order to take relief. Like in this example there is white line or chalk around it. How about when there's several dirt patches in your line.
There is a white line around it, I should have taken a shot which made it more visible sorry By having the white line it clearly defines the area, which makes it easier on the golfer. A club may identify problem areas on the course without any lines with the use of a local rule. For example the dirt patches that are on x Green are deemed abnormal course conditions and should your ball come to rest on or if your line putt is affected relief can be obtained -(rule 16. Abnormal course conditions)
@darrenarbergolf Thank you for the reply. I'm my case there was no white line so I checked with a staff at the club house who started since there was no local rule I had to play as is. So I was confused as to why there was a golf rule for abnormal condition if the green is suppose to be green with grass, not a patch dirt area on the green where you are forced to putt over uneven patchy dirt. Made no sense to me but that's what he told me. I always felt the greens are suppose to have grass, even if it's brown I wouldn't have mind, but numerous dirt patches in a 2 foot area should be a no brain to get line of relief.
I am sure if you speak with the Greens chair about the situation, they will explore what can be done whilst the situation recovers.
I always find Adidas uncomfortable at first with them traditionally being quite a narrow fit and me having feet like a duck. Thankfully Adidas use a decent leather, which is soft and breaks in/stretches pretty quickly
Yes they can be, but the more trainer style have a wide front of the shoe.
@@darrenarbergolf The Tour360's in a wide still needed breaking in for me. The good thing is that Adidas use good quality, supple leather that moulds to your feet quickly 👍
@KentnDebi I’ve worn 360 for as long as I can remember, these are the first ones where they have t crippled me for first few rounds. Blister plasters
Trainer style for me, especially in drier weather.
Trainer is definitely more comfortable, but I’m more of a structured shoe type of player.
@@darrenarbergolf Personally, the structured shoe looks better, smarter.
@vincebutler1121 I think if I started playing now I think I would be trainer style. But I find my feet moving too much in trainer style when compared to more traditional.
