Hey, I had this problem as well... What fixed it for me is warming up properly. Think jump rope, arm stretches and more relaxed shadowboxing as warm-ups.
Going to drill these and practice before sparring next I barely sparred for my second time recently. I gotta work my combos.

You failed to understand the peekaboo.Its a Counter punching+pressure style.meaning the way you showed to beat it is just playing into the strength of the peekaboo fighter.

I understand the peekaboo is a counter-punching + pressure style, but my point about attacking the body first and then the head isn’t to play into its strengths-it's to exploit its weaknesses. The peekaboo relies on a high guard, which often leaves openings for body shots. By targeting the body, you wear them down and create headshot opportunities. Also, making them come to you disrupts their rhythm and pressure, forcing them to take risks. It's about controlling the pace and outsmarting them, not just trading punches.

I have a higher proportion of fast twitch muscle fibers so i get tired easily, like only after a minute of shadow boxing i already feel gased out. Sure i can punch harder and faster than most people my age, but my weakness is literally my stamina

Hey, they help with your overall explosive power, which translates to your punching speed and strength. It helps with all punches but straight punches in particular.

I only recently found out my local gym has heavy bags and a speed bag, and so I've begun my journey on the road to becoming a boxer. After putting in a few hours on the heavy bag, I've learned a few things about my stand up game; my jabs and lead hooks are both bad but for different reasons, my cross is decent, and my rear hook is a monster but only about 60% of the time, the rest of the time it feels like I'm landing it or throwing it poorly. After watching this video, I have a few new takeaways for the next time I'm on the bag or even in shadowboxing; I need to take the time to throw each punch correctly, then pick up the speed at which I do the same movements, and keep it clean and controlled, I need to keep my feet planted and pivot on the balls of my feet when I'm putting power into my punches, specifically my cross and rear hook, and overall I have a better formula for each punch and its uses than I did before. thank you for this knowledge, time to turn it into power!

I plan to join a boxing gym and have been throwing some basic punches, now while I jab or hook with my left hand i can feel the snap but my cross really feels weak as something is holding me back although I am right hand dominant and I have also observed that when doing single arm dumbbell (20kg) presses I am able to lift with my left hand faster although my right hand is stronger. Can you tell whats wrong?
If I had to guess, I'd say the problem was most likely in your hip rotation. When you're throwing that cross, try to rotate your hips and put your shoulder into it and see how that feels.

@@deltagamer4016 I will be dropping a video about basic punches and form, so you can check that out in a few days, basically for the punches it's all about practice and experience, not that much about drills for this (if you know how to throw said punch in theory that is)
Good stuff not gonna lie, also don't forget about technical sparring and quality partner drills. No bag is gonna teach you how to slip as much as a real punching coming at your face.

Although the exercises here will help your punches, they will not actually increase your punching power too much. Power comes naturally.So unless you have a God-given explosive power, don't get your hopes up too much. If you are not a chosen person from birth, you can increase your maximum power by a certain amount throughout your life. But still, do not ignore the training, a little benefit is better than no benefit. Just don't get your hopes up too much, if your punches are like Tyson Fury's in his first fight with Wilder, no matter how much training you do, you won't be like Mike Tyson.

Dumbbell shadowboxing doesnt improve punching power, but trust me it will help in the ring if you practice it often. Why? It improves shoulder endurance which is very beneficial in boxing and you have to keep your hands up all the time when youre fighting so yeah thats bout it

Band punches is better than dumbells because of vector of resistance, dumbells resistance is vertiacal not horizontal like punches
Make your wrists rotate while doing it and it will help same way, just dont go overboard or you might injure your joints
None of this will increase punching power. Increasing punching power comes from improving your punch technique from the ground up through your fist. I'm not giving any details though.
Both are important, technique allows you to properly distribute power, but you need to train the muscle fibers and the neural connections to actually have power for the distribution

Since u tryna gatekeep im finna explain it. When u punch with ur lead hand (hook/uppercut) transfer ur weight from ur front foot to ur backfoot, important to note that u should push with ur feet while twisting, and for the backhand do the same bur transfer ur weight from back to front
