Hey! I loved this video! Lots of insight into a career most people wouldn’t know exists. I’m looking at beginning a bachelors in psych and am curious how you go about setting your field of study in stone (in your case addiction)

Great discussion by the two doctors. I am currently dealing with a situation in which my nephew (Age 23) has had several psychotic episodes as a result of vaping concentrated THC products. I was not aware of the dangers these chemicals posed to young people under the age of twenty five (in which the brain is still in development). I think more awareness needs to be made about the damaging effects of cannabis and THC. It's been sort of normalized and neutralized in our culture.

It’s a genetic developmental disorder and I assure you that adult autistics, whether diagnosed or not, are considerably more like to use marijuana. Often in HUGE daily doses. Bad study, bad correlation

People will do and say anything to support smoking pot. All the politicians who pushed it would go home and tell their children, "...but, YOU don't smoke it."

Love the video !!! And yes marijuana is good for treatment of autism it is a better option then most of those medications I put on reviews and cannabis helped me at least want to live <3 and be with family but there's other plants medicines that heal deeper (:

I have schizoaffective disorder, THC makes me super paranoid, but it didn't use to. Only after I started anti-psychotic medicines. So I think mixing invega, (antipsychotic) is a bad idea with T.H.C. I just bought some CBD and a vape pen, it's still shipping.. I'll get back with ya'll after I get it and let you know if it helps with my schizoaffective problems.

Are researchers like yourself among the scientists who write the actual studies or are those a different group/area of researchers? I think overall cannabis is a miracle drug for the majority of the population. There needs to be more quality studies. The world is changing so rapidly, I think cannabis will be a big part of our future.

But you did not answer the headline question you used for your video: "...Does it work?" All the general studies you mentioned seem to be inconclusive at best, leaving people who are searching for answers at square one.

The world would be FULL of autistic people if smoking during pregnancy were true!!! Cannabinoids contribute to homeostasis in the human body!! Homeostasis being a neurolgic and physiologic balance!!

Here in Maryland, my 40 year old daughter who has ALS2 (Stephen Hawking) is tended to by a nursing agency named Dockings. Dockings is governed by Division of Disabilities of MD. And D.D.A. is overseen by Medicaid, who funds DDA. We have shown these agencies in person and thru videos how beautifully, how miraculously CBD from hemp works for my daughter!!!!!!! (on RUclips "Is CBD being suppressed" you will hear my daughters story from almost 3 years ago) But we have been told that even if my daughter were to get her Medical card they will not under any circumstance allow or assist my daughter with CBD therapy......BECAUSE IT THREATENS THEIR FUNDING!!!?? Money over my daughters well being!!! Thats our government for you!!??? Dr Montgomery how do we get over this hump?? My daughter suffers terribly without the CBD!!

I think I will be continuing my CBD treatment. I was just given CBD products from Weedborn and I feel so much better these days : D

I'm an undergraduate student aspiring to go into the field of research when it's time, but I'm just kinda worried about debt and not being able to make enough money post grad school. Hi nice to meet you . You are inspirational. I want to be a research psychologists so bad but I only have a masters degree in psychology. I yet to have got a job in my field. Its been a struggle for me. I currently work remotely for a call center . I want a career. I'm grateful to have a job. I want to do research so bad. I want to do it about children who have disabilities and the brain and behavior. As well as psychology and health and the brain. Even doing research about motivation and disability rights on the job. Being an advocate for those who can't speak for themselves through research.
