I am a guitar enthusiast. In 1963 I was introduced to the guitar by a friend's brother H.B. Ong of The Shannons, Penang. Subsequently, I took some lessons from Larry Rodrigues, a renowned Eurasian guitarist in Penang, who made many recordings with Radio Malaysia. In 1964 I formed my band. The Flamingoes, participated in the Penang Poppy Day Talentime and won the runner-up prize for bands. I played guitar casually since then. In 2012 when I retired, I enrolled for lessons for the grade 1 Electric Guitar exams of Rockschool, London. In December 2016, I obtained the Grade 7 Electric Guitar Performance Certificate from Rockschool London I completed Grade 8 in 2018. I am a great fan of The Shadows, Ventures and the likes.
