Like a mental case, I played a recording of a few of Shecky's shows over and over until I knew it cold and that has been for decades. Along with a few other greats who died within the past few years, he was my favorite. Thank You for this interview. I only wish I made a better effort to meet him.

One of my favorite Shecky jokes: "After a show, a lady approached me. She said, 'You are hilarious, Sheeky, Shocky, Shookie!' Shecky replied, "Thank you, Leedy, Lockey, Loodie!"

RIP Shecky Greene, who died today at 97. 12/31/2023 Great voice he had, Funny jokes too.

I met Shecky Greene in a restaurant in Vegas about 6 years ago. He talked to my one year old grandson who started giggling. He left the restaurant and came back in shortly with a toy truck for my grandson!! He must have had toys in his car. What a nice guy and fun to talk to.

Very intelligent interview! I have read several books about VL over the years, starting with Anne Edwards 1979 when I was a teenager. Recently I finished Dark Star by Alan Strachan which I found very interesting in another perspective since I'm much older (...) and there are much more sources today. After the death of VL, Katharine Hepburn wrote about Olivier "Great actor. Small man." I think VL comes around much better today.

Just picked this book up about 3 days ago and I am currently more than halfway finished. I wasn't prepared for how gutwrenchingly, honest she was about many tough situations she unfortunately endured but I truly admire her so much for her blatant honesty and such resilient strength for retelling some of the horror's she's had to experienced at the hands of elders as a child. .Brittany is such a beautiful, young woman and strong survivor . Best wishes to her and her bright future. Thank you for this interview. I look forward to seeing her grow and reading future works from her ❤ .

Well maybe they were both a bit crazy people like to be with their own kind artists including actors are often more emotional because they use it like alchemy in their art and performances if you can't be dramatic then performances may seem wooden. Some like them are very passionate so obviously a person less emotional is also less passionate. That era of films was more decadent too they were British not American but look at Hollywood then women dripping in jewels and furs everyone drinking and smoking and laughing not just virtue signalling like now.
