Peak Pilates Fit Reformer Maintenance and Wheel Replacement
Love the setup, layers, and cues! Thank you so much!!
Awesome! glad you found it helpful 🥰
More please. Very helpful
Great help- however, if you are someone with the Mve Studio Reformer with Tower- heavy plastic and wood ends with the tower attachment- it is not as simple as see here in the video. You have to remove your tower attachment, the plastic end cap-best way to remove this is to flip over once tower is off and unscrew the plastic panel that is housing the bolts underneath. Remove bolts of end cap then you can slide off the carriage. The new wheels Mad Dogg is using now are not round as the previous ones were- they are flat now and ride with more friction on the rails. Makes the ride louder. Not a fan of it as I have a studio full of balance body reformers and they are smooth and quiet. Anyone want to buy a tower unit? Im over Peak.
Чройликсан ❤❤
Good job 👍👍👍👍👍
thx! love these combo workouts!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for giving it a try!
Great video! I LOVE seeing other Pilates instructors/ enthusiasts favorite exercises
Glad you enjoyed it! ☺️
Hi Kels! Can you please make a video using your tower? I want one but don’t know if it’s worth the investment for me quite yet
Yes ! Stay tuned!
Muchas gracias por este buen video del mantenimiento de la Reformer Peak Pilates, saludos Jose Alcala de #tecnosports
Thank you, that was very helpful!
Hi, Kels. Thank you for this video. It was much better to follow your video than read all the instructions. Is your reformer 18” high? I ordered a Studio reformer directly from Balanced Body then added a tower 3 days later. My original order was for a 14”, but when I got it today, it is the 18” height. I wasn’t sure if they give you the taller reformer if you order it with the tower.
I purposely ordered an 18"; you might want to check with balanced body directly.
Happy to see someone not showing off there body but you are actually doing something love
Wow I’ve been wondering this for years. Thank u so much for clearly educating us
vey helpful! thank youuu
glad it was helpful! enjoy!
Mahalo.
sounds like it might be time for new springs! thanks for watching!
Quick note that placing the horizontal bar ensuring that the loop faces the carriage either is not a must or does not apply to all models. But thank you for your video. It was easy to follow and clear. Well done!
Good variations with the band 🌸Ta
How do you know when you should go heavier on the springs? It usually seems like the recommended springs don’t feel like my legs are doing very much. I do try to focus on my entire core regardless of how heavy the springs are. It feels like I’m just doing core and not really doing legs as well on the recommended “heavy” springs but when I want to add a 5th spring or heaven forbid peg a fifth spring the instructors have a heart attack!
Everyone is unique so the recommended spring setting is just that- a recommendation. Always focus on using your core first and taking things slow. If you're really controlling the springs and still want to go heavier, try taking one spring to the back row and see how that feels. Always progress slowly. Hope that helps!
You make it seem so easy!! How do you turn the reformer into a tower?
you can use the tower with reformer for certain exercises or you can remove the carriage and add the mats to use as a full tower. i will try to make a video of this to show you!
Morning, love your pilates videos. I'm currently in the market for a home gym reformer. If price wasn't an issue, what is your best recommendation?
Double thumbs up...very helpful!
What brand/model of a high quality reformer would you suggest for one that needs to come in/out of a storage position often? Thank you.
Other than the height, is the foot bar is adjustable? That seems like a critical feature to be able to have the foot bar at different angels. The video only shows moving it up and down and fully out of the way. Thanks!!!!
I was given an older Pilates Reformer that folds up for storage (not sure of the model, maybe 2 or 3? it's about 4.5 feet high and has a few coloured cables and the AeroPilates Reformer name). I was surprised at how heavy it is!! My plan was to store it in the closet, folded, until I wanted to take it out every day (or 2, or 3 haha) to do my workout and then fold it back up and store in the closet once again. It was a huge pain just to get it in the closet, stuck in the folded position. I've been trying to find DIY solutions to make it easier to move, ideally with wheels so I don't have to lift the whole thing up, only roll it. Do you have any advice or ideas? I wasn't able to find anyone even mentioning how heavy the machine is! Thanks! :)
Hello! When trying to determine the best setting for the gear bar position, what position should the foot bar be in? Thanks!
Hi Sarah, the footbar should be in the setting in which you plan on using for your footwork. For me, that is the high bar position (highest setting). Hope that helps!
Your video was very helpful - until the last step: attaching the springs to the tower! I know nothing about pilates or reformers - I'm assembling this unit for my wife. You raced through the last step, with no closeups. I have NO idea where to connect the EIGHT color-coded springs to the tower... The 5 color-coding on the springs under the sliding seat is also an issue - 3 are red, 1 is blue and 1 is green. No idea which order they should go in the series...
Hi Jim, the placement of the springs on the tower will vary depending on what exercise you are doing. They are meant to be moved around and changed. So there is no specific spot that each spring will stay in all of the time. The loops and handles can be switched and used on any springs as well as the roll down bar which can be used with either set of short springs. The springs underneath the reformer do not need to be in a specific order. It makes no difference where they are placed and can be placed based on the users preference. Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have additional questions.
@@pilatesbykels. Wow, what a relief! Wonder why the springs are color coded? I'm going to guess the colors might be significant on other plates devices where the same springs are used. Really appreciate your time and courtesy. Your video is much more helpful than the printed assembly paperwork. Thank you, Kels!
Hi Jim, the spring colors represent different tensions. For example, for the springs underneath the refomer; green is heavy, red is medium and blue is light. You can use different combinations of springs depending on which exercise you are doing and how much tension you would like to use. Similarly, the springs on the tower, the colors correspond to different tensions and thus can be interchanged depending on what exercise you are doing and what tension you need. So happy to hear the video was helpful! Thanks for watching :)
@@pilatesbykels Color coded for tension! That makes sense... Thanks for sharing AND caring, Kels! With appreciation, Jim
Great video! How often does this reformer require this level of maintenance? Thanks!
It really depends on use. It is recommended to clean your tracks and wheels monthly, but I do mine quarterly as my machine only gets a few hours use/week. Wheel replacement I do as needed.
@@pilatesbykels Good to know - thanks so much! 😊I've used them in studio, but having one at home will be new.
Thanks for this video! Curious as to where you founds the right wheels?
Hi Emilie, I called customer service directly and purchased them over the phone! Hope this helps!
@@pilatesbykels thank you! Really does help :)
Great video. Thank you.
Could you please do a video on how to storage this Reformer vertically?
yes, I will add it to the list!
When setting the gear bar, what setting does the foot bar need to be at? I’m 5’0 and wonder if the foot bar should be at highest position when configuring the gear bar setting.
Hi JG. The highest footbar setting will make the distance between the footbar and the shoulder blocks shorter. As you take the footbar down, the distance will be greater. So if you are on the shorter side, you will likely have better alignment and more range of motion with the footbar in the highest position. Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions!
Great video! It's just what I was looking for and I couldn't find it anywhere. Very clear explanation. Thanks for for posting!
Thanks for watching! Glad it was helpful :)
