@@jivagorodrigues9622 yep I still wonder if it’s a bug or is this the real battery life we can expect? It falls well below Garmins estimates. I am sort of regretting getting rid of mu AMOLED because I feel with that watch you have a lot of options for making the battery last a long time. Ah well it’s still a good watch 😀

@ yeah, the Amoled battery life was crazy. I think that the fact that you can turn off the screen is a game changer in this case. Anyway I'm very happy with mine and Hopefully will only get better. I think on the next F9 the will only have Amoled and the MIP screen will only come to the Enduro model.

@@jivagorodrigues9622 my thoughts are: The days of AMOLED having poor battery life are over my case was extreme with AOD & gesture off but people with AOD on are getting 14 days or so battery life. Solar- I honestly thought that the battery in your case was going down quickly because you do a lot of activities BUT over the last 7 days my battery has burned 30% tomorrow morning but gained 2% solar as well. I’m still skeptic that there could be a bug with the battery drain. I am enjoying using the MiP screen again it is nice just glancing at it and seeing the watch face but there are times when I miss the AMOLED because it’s just very clear to read in all situations. I’m interested in how long my battery will last but 3 weeks or so seems the likely outcome we will see 😃 Would I go back to the AMOLED? I don’t know really lol I do kind of like the look of the MIP display 😃

I watched your first videos about the AMOLED, and I follow a similar approach with sports watches: keeping AOD and gesture off, and enabling AOD only during activities. Like you, I’m more focused on tracking my activities and monitoring my health stats rather than glancing at the watch to check the time. I don’t mind touching the watch when I need to see the time or study my activities' reports, and I’m really impressed with the AMOLED's performance. That’s why I’ve decided to go with it (still waiting for it to arrive!). @jivagorodrigues9622 I’ve been following your battery test videos as well! Both your videos and ​ @jamesmc0716's insights have been incredibly helpful in guiding my decision. I want to sincerely thank both of you for taking the time to share your knowledge-it means a lot!

@ yes. Exactly. With the Amoled your screen could be completely off. With the MIP, doesn't use much of energy, but can't be off.

@@DO_419 something just doesn’t add up with the battery drain. I restarted my watch not long after this video and the battery went up to 85%? 😂

@ maybe a bit of both. I know that I do a lot more, but I really wanted at least 20 days of battery. But I'm happy with the 14 days a got last test. I think on my TEST 2 I will have a extra day, and the difference is on this test 2 I have been doing even more intense runs/workouts.

I will have run around 110mi at the end of the TEST 2.

@ I think the software is also getting better. I'm on beta 12.14... But they have released 12.15 and today 12.16. But my watch is running smoothly... So I'll only update at the end of the TEST 2.

@ oh man, I have been trying to be better. It's impressive what you have been doing too, you are following the garmin plan. Mostly of the people buy those watches just to see the time. We both have been using it the way it's supposed to.

@ yes I’m following a general fitness Garmin plan. Do you know if you can follow 2 plans? Ie General fitness and Strength workout plans?

@ I don't think you can. What I'm doing now is following a marathon plan from RUNNA APP that syncs with the connect platform and the garmin program for strength.

@@jivagorodrigues9622 but you use yours more but I wouldn’t have thought that the usage would decrease the battery by that much which is why I think a possible bug. Do you think that because we use a data rich watch face that effects battery?

@@jamesmc0716no. I don't think it has anything to do with the watch face. I think it's just different kind of use. And the fact that you can TURN OFF the screen on the Amoled version is a huge battery saving trick.

@ I don't know. Mine is running smoothly. Let's keep watching your. I think mine is going to be dead on day 14. But I think I also run and workout more than what you do... So it also depends on each individual use. Your display settings are good and keeping the screen off it's pretty very smart too and totally understandable. I would do the same.

@@jivagorodrigues9622yes you do more workouts that could be it but for me I thought the MIP would be a lot better on the battery. I think the solar needs 50k lux hours a day to even just help the battery not go down.

@@miquel.cassanyes hi I have a separate settings for my running activity which is AOD off, gesture on 👍 brightness is set at the lowest level but now and then increased to level 2 when i need it.

Thanks, I just don’t see a reason to have AOD or Gesture on all the time. Sometimes when I’m out running errands I’ll have it on. When I’m running I have AOD off and Gesture on.
