Way different than the last time i was back there in the 70s . When I visted my Great Uncles Ray and Glenn .
Which trail is this?
Beautiful video! I had a cousin that owned land in Sedona starting in the 50s and sold lots over the years. She was Norwegian American and she and her husband never had children. She had a simple 1 story house that had a fabulous view if the chapel hills. She died at age 96 very wealthy.
@lesliegriffith9830 oh that's awesome, I wish we all had cousins like that ton live to an old age, I would consider myself lucky if I did! Thank you for watching and sharing!
Interesting
@@GR-xb4km very
So glad you guys got to go to the candy store. So special for child-less adults. Lili is really happy for you
Hmmmmm the kids would have loved this. Too bad we couldn't go. Aunt mikey and uncle Lauren are the best!

Cool video love pup
@phillipseaton7163 thank you!!! she is our baby haha
Hi - Very cute Video ! Just a random person asking your itinerary and how did you like the weather (for appropriate clothing). We are visiting next week :) Thanks
@vibhorjain hey sorry for the delay! Sedona has had beautful weather right now, this week (2nd thru the 8th) is gonna be gorgeous. Cold in the morning, but the days are absolutely perfect, literally you can hike in a t shirt(keep a sweater for the morning/evening). I grew up here, family has been here for 165 years. My recommendations are for hikes, Hiline Trail, Baldwin Trail. Be sure to drive up Oak Creek Canyon. Also be sure to visit Jerome, it's a ghost town about 35 mins away. You can directly email me at booking@mikereevesband.com if you need more information. Thank you for watching! My wife wanted me to add West Fork Trail thats up Oak Creek Canyon, but you should hike it around noon because otherwise it'll be in the shadow because of the canyon blocking the sun, it is gonna be a bit colder, and you have to cross a stream several times(there are rocks and logs to walk across so you don't get your feet wet) but it is very very beautiful. That's the Trail that is in the video, it's about 10 degrees colder once you get on the trail so take a sweater, but it is really beautiful
Use to live there back in 1996
Sick edit
Thanks bro
Tootie eats her own sh*t
How dare you
She learned it from you
I left Arizona in “73”. I still do miss it and every now and then, I go back. We lived in Apache Junction, when no one hardly lived there.
My Aunt Barbara married Fred Zacharie in the late sixties. She was fascinated by the stories of the old timers, and began to record them in their own words with one stipulation nothing would be published until after their death. And my grandparents Earl and Vivian Kaiser lived out at haigler Creek. I spent much of my youth in Pleasant Valley. Marla Zacharyie is the only one that still lives there, she owns the Pleasant Valley Inn. And we all enjoyed the rodeos every Sunday in young Arizona.
This is a beautiful place. I lived in Prescott in 79 & 80. This is much more lovely!!
Hi! Great video! Thinking of road tripping in Colorado next March also. Any tips? Did you experience any road closures?
Hey so sorry for the delay, you know there is some closures, but the main highways they do a great Job of keeping open. Google maps and waze also are great for being updated for these things. If all else fails, I call the nearest gas station if I am unsure, the locals knows best about closures, thank you for watching! As far as tips, in March, it's pretty impressive to go over the Slumgullion Pass into lake city. Be careful if there is weather, but it's so cool to see the snow. Lake city will be shut down because of mud season but still cool
Great vid.thanks.
I would love to see AZ 288 to be paved from AZ 260 to Young.
The locals wouldn't.
Ah, man another place f’d over by the internet…. I got thrown out of the Antler a few times back in the day,… before it burned down and was replaced by a metal warehouse posing a bar.
The land of the pleasant valley war between the Grahams and the Tuksburys.
Love me some Sturgill Simpson. He’s so weird in a good way.
Beauty lies in every soul.
Great video. No snow in Feb, 2023? Could you please share if it was towards the middle of Feb or the end? Thank you.
Man I don't know, I'm sorry. I would assume it's toward the end of Feb, but I cannot remember, thank you so much for watching :)
The dog is so cute. Love this hiking vid!
Awe thank you she is our baby haha
Awesome channel! Just subbed. 😍 Lovely video too. I was wondering what it looked like out there, and your vid was so nice to virtually explore Young.
I really appreciate that thank you so much!
My family was one of the first there way back when, and still there today! The Cline’s!
Oh cool! Such an awesome area. Great little day trip
Cline, an old and respected family in and around there…wish we could go back a hundred years and live that life 😊
My favorite place to visit. ❤
Same here, I love Sedona so much
Beautiful edit!
Thank you :)
👏👏👏👍👍
Thank you!
Winston Churchill's mom was from New York and her dad owned the copper mine in Jerome. He once said when addressing congress if my dad had been American instead of English I might have been American.
Oh wow thats cool I did not know that.
I was born in Arizona my family came in the 1800's I grew up there till I was thirteen and left. Most of my family is gone but they're buried there I lived in Prescott but have some memories when I was little there. I'm now 77 and I've been back a few times a lot of time since I left there and has changed a lot❤
Thank you for sharing, such cool history
A small section of America that hasn’t been ruined and polluted by Californians.
Cool area I live in Tucson I do prefer a Cactus although it’s been in the hundreds for a couple months now pretty bad down here
I agree, it's nice to get out of the heat. Now it's time to get out of the cold haha
What’s the title of the opening song?
Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny, such a classic song
Thank you, it is a great piece of music
Wow, you were in Tombstone, you missed visiting the cemetery. There are many funny stories on the gravestones how they were killed. It was very interesting.
I agree, we had to get to the hotel in Bisbee and got there late. We are going back!
Like the intro song....
Same here 👍
I like the lizard, he is not afraid of anything 😂😂😂
I know!! Haha
@@mistermikeymikejunior I drove thru Arizona once, and I noticed they have lots of strip clubs, and churches around there.
👏👏👏👍👍☮️
Thank you!
👏👏👏👍👍☮️
Thank you!
I was born there, and grew-up there. I loved it and miss it every day…
Such an awesome place
I had a really good day trip up there. I recommend exiting the town the opposite side you entered from.
I agree! I try to head over the mountain when I have time. It's a beautiful drive
Hi Mikey Mike, at 4:27 you show a stand of trees on what I assume is hwy 288. Can you give me a approximate location. I`m thinking of retiring in the area.
I know it's north of the town, I don't have a location, I apologize. I have only went there once but it's a beautiful area. If you can buy some land there please do any let me know! Honestly anywhere around that area will be a win win.
@@mistermikeymikejunior Thanks Mike, Your information is a good start. I`m looking for some land with friends to build a few small homes. I will keep you in the loop if I find anything interesting... Richard
@drwizbang awesome good luck!
Love both of these videos so much. Looks like you all had a great time at Pivot Rock. I know Lily did 🤗Love each and everyone of you so much. Tell Mikey thank you for making these great videos/memories and sharing with us 💕
Of course man! I enjoy making them and it preserves these memories :)
Anyone remember Frank Gillette? The great 4th of July fireworks and barbeque put on by a local rancher? The Pleasant Valley War? Barbara Zacharie? Beautiful town and people!
I grew-up in Young. I’m related to Frank. And, when I tell people about the fireworks shows, they’re either shocked or don’t believe me. We were pretty lucky. I shopped at the Pleasant Valley Store when I was a kid. When it was owned by Merle (I’m related to Kathy, too.) I went to school there before they got the new building. I miss Young every day…
You must be related to Morgan Gillette then…I understand they (your family) has great history there
Something I learned recently...... as kids, we were told the pyramid close to the Phoenix zoo, was the tomb of gov. Hunt, our first STATE gov. Also in there are his wife, Duette Ellison and her parents, I believe a sister and
........and a child. Duettes father was Jesse Ellison, leader of the Committee of Fifty, a vigillante committee tasked with ridding the area of rustlers and killers.
Beautiful even in the rain.
Beautiful scenery! Cute little puppy!
Yes she is :) thank you!
Don't live all that far from Young but never been there maybe this summer. Very relaxing video thank you.
lost instead of loss...love your selection of music!
Agreed- love the music!
I went to a Young a year ago for an event, friendly people and the best law enforcement! The sheriff helped me locate my loss Iphone, not only was he very helpful, but easy on the eyes 😉😉
Well, hopefully he's still Sheriff when you "lose" your phone again next year :-)
Do you need a 4x4 to get there?????
No you do not, It’s just a little bumpy
@@TheyLoveTanner good to know! Always wanted to check it out, but. I guess I was coming up the back way from Roosevelt lake.
Loved living there
