Amazing view frozen lake Sweden - 5000 miles in 10 days
I found this little gem on my 5000 miles in 10 days Arctic Circle challenge. An amazing place, with an amazing view. The services in Sweden are second to none, driving across this frozen lake was the most amazing experience. I drove my land rover defender from London to Norway on a 5000 mile road trip across France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and completed a tour of the Arctic Circle. On route I found this frozen lake and stopped to take a brake.

Bonnet Insulation Land Rover Defender
Просмотров 1 тыс.14 дней назад
I teamed up with @theyellowdefender6433 to help with his Defenders bonnet insulation and sound deadening, to help sound proof his defender engine bay. The Land Rover Defender is notoriously noisy and to help reduce the noise coming from the engine bay you can install sounding proofing as bonnet insulation to reduce the noise of the engine coming into the cab. We installed 1" thick insulation to...

Some of the kit you should bring along to the Nordkapp trip up into the Arctic Circle. It’s not an exhaustive list but it should start getting you in the mind set of what to bring along with you!
The Arctic Circle 5000 miles in 10 DAYS!
Просмотров 42921 день назад
Were returning for another tour of the Arctic Circle driving from the UK to the end of the world, also known as Nordkapp in Norway. The 5000 mile journey will take us through France, Belgium, Germany, Demark, Sweden, Finland and Norway, before we turn around and do it all again to get back home to the UK. Were offering the tour out for everyone to join, not just online, but in person, in their ...

they look good moving when their not broken. if the workers spent as much time IN the factory as they did out side on strike maybe the job would still be there and the LR would have a better reputation RIP LR
Oh no! What happened?
It sounds like a great trip - but I don't understand why you are punishing yourself, having to drive 500 miles per day? Maybe that's all the time you could get off work?
Yes that’s exactly it, saving holiday for a bigger, more relaxed trip in the summer!
Nothing to see here Land Rover is working just fine! 😂
Song name ?
Song is In This Darkness, Clara La San 👍
Good onya.
Wild guess Kylesku bridge, Ballachulish bridge Rannoch moor
Are you able to share where you got the insulation and how much it was?
Sure, it’s 30mm self adhesive, flame retardant sound deadening roll. Got mine from 3M.
🏆🙏😊⭐ Thank you for sharing this
My pleasure, it was an amazing place!
Another thing to add to the to do list for my landy 😂😂😂
It’s a never ending list 😂 got a shelf full of equipment I’ve been meaning to fit ‘next week’ for the past 7 years lmao
@@TheOrangeDefender only had my defender since March so getting it set up currently, which is sound proofing, needs a turbo, new injectors would be good, chasing wiring, rebuilding the heater box, building out the interior, making the bed rack and tool box and also want to fit lockers and a new r380 stumpy and 1.4 transfer case as the lt77 and 1.667 transfer has the engine going on the motorway 😂😂
The best winter wonderland is in Norway, go to www.theorangedefender.com to join our convoy! ❄️
Sounds like a trip of a lifetime! Wish I was coming along too!
Gooda
I would've loved to have done this. Sadly my Defender 90 was recently stolen. Thankfully it was recovered a few days later but I'm still yet to see it for myself and assess the condition. Perhaps a 2026 trip could be a go'er. I don't think the long driving days would've bothered me as I did North Hampshire to Fort William via Edinburgh just over a month ago in one day to do the famous NC500, and that was about 13 hours with the odd fuel stop and toilet break. Best of luck to you and to everybody that tags along. Sounds like an absolutely epic trip.
Go to www.theorangedefender.com for more info. We’re leaving on 25th January 2025, get your keys and meet us in Calais!
Can I please have a copy of your liability insurance and the trip plan? Standard first ask of any trip.
Hi Overlandready, please send me your email address.
I’m currently right behind you mate😂 on my way to school (you where driving around Tilehurst)
Great information. Well presented. We never take notice of that little breather. Cheers for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!
100s and 1000s flat trays in australia
just drill a hole in the end cap install a grease fitting pump it full and continue.
You'd better had checked regularly and replaced the CV joint before it breaks !
Keep it at anchor until stern drive fixed.
Yes, mine busted on a roundabout when it was under a year old, waited for LR recovery, got bored, walked to a store, bought some spanners, was just throwing it in the back when LR recovery arrived, he looked at it, said there was no sign of it ever being greased, and left, drove around for months before i got it replaced
What did you do to sort it out?
I ended up take it apart to clean it out. Took a while a there tiny ball bearings inside that are so easy to lose and a bit fiddly trying to get back in position. But it worked again one I got all the grit out.
Ball bearings in there incase you roll over it then blocks the breather so fuel doesn’t leak out and catch fire blast it out once a month with some wd40 😊👍🏻
Blocked fuel cap tank vent from the ice and snow whilst driving in the Arctic circle
Wild reindeer talking the place of cyclists in Sweden! At last he pulled in and let the traffic past! 😂😂
One of our many breakdowns traveling from London to the Arctic Circle!
With a Landrover it always pays to have spares
Thanks, how many miles has that shaft done sir?
I think I fitted it in autumn 2022, but since then it’s done a couple of Alps trips (about 2k each) a trip up to the Arctic Circle (about 5k) so I’d estimate around 10-15k. I Seem to go through them quickly!
Thanks for your reply, all the best.
@@TheOrangeDefender If you are chewing up Front UJ's , get someone to Verify the Angle of your Front Diff . For a Prop-shaft to be reliable the Gearbox Output Shaft and the Diff Input shaft need to be Parallel . And before the " Peanut Gallery " chimes in , PARALLEL not Concentric . A Cardan Joint requires it .
@@johncunningham4820 cheers, I’ll do some googling and see if I can find how it’s done or get someone to check it out!
It's called a "Roller vane pump"....
If there ain't no oil under it There aint no oil in it👍👍🤣
What's an old defender without a leak or 2😂😂
It wouldn’t be an adventure if you weren’t sure if you’d make it or not! 😂
Posh boys on tour 😂😂
Posh boys, more like three tramps in vehicles held together with duct tape 😂
Antifreeze/coolant expands when it gets hot, thats why theres a maximum mark on the tank 😂
Japanese all day.
To be fair the Japanese was the only one without any problems throughout the trip 😂
It's a Land Rover, it's going to leak, overheat, drink fuel, drink oil, drag along at 60, give you backache and make you deaf, then break down... I just dont get the fascination...
Both defenders leaking at the same time 🤣 🤣
Defenders living up to their reputation! 😂
I'd be calling Ghostbusters. Your Defender's haunted!
Ta very mucha! Subscribed when you adjusted your steering box in the carpark, how's it holding up?
That was a long time ago! It’s going well, only issue since then was the output shaft seal went a couple of months ago, a fairly easy job just messy under the truck!
@TheOrangeDefender Thanks, all the best. I did the input seal in mine a couple of years ago, all good fun.
Can't beat a Defender ❤
35s and maybe an exhaust pointing to the ground
My bad I didn't realise how much dust I was kicking up ...... wow
I'll get my pay back on the next trip!

I never understood the hate towards fits. My mom has one and it has the best acceleration and turning, which is great since she drives like it's class b rally 😅
Sounds like an epic adventure in an epic vehicle!!! I do hope you do some longer videos of your adventures
What did you do for a lift? What size tires?
Not really
😂😂😂
Thank God it's unknown, it's so dull and ugly and lifeless.
