The new "shorts" king strikes again! :)
The algorithm be a fickle mistress.
Great to see what you looked like "before" you became the Ghost Rider! 😉
It was a different time, for sure, lol.
I loved Jonah Hex. I have that issue where he was stuffed and set on displace somewhere. In the end, he was in a basement somewhere.
@casino_comics loved the stories. Have you read the new 52 jonah hex or all-star western? The way they ended it was absolutely amazing.
You *ARE* Johah Hex brother in that outfit your wearing! Your a Rootin' tootin' two gun shooting cowboy! 🤠🤠🤠 I liked seeing all these; I have never read any of them so it's cool to hear and see his comics. Now you just need that first appearance right? Was that like in '72?
All star western # 10 1971 it's a pretty pricey book right now lol. It's a very interesting series. The All star western new 52 has him in Gotham hanging out with Arkham tracking down serial killers.
@@Renegaderantscomics That actually sounds Bad A$$... I never read the comic, but always thought his face looked Cool AF!
@SonOfCrom-1932 Yeah I have a couple trades if you ever want to read it. I can send it to you.
Awesome covers, brother! I know little about the character, but I like him. And the answer to your question is: Superman 243, "The Starry-eyed Siren of Space", another Neil Adams cover, October 1971. Thanks for sharing!🫡
I think there is a biker gang of ghost riders in the mini series Thors. Dr. Doom runs the place. I might be confusing it with secret wars. I just remember seeing it somewhere. I'm not sure. I read a lot of books last year, and they seem to all blend together. I will look it up .
That would be awesome. Thanks for checking on that.
Happy New Year, man!!
Happy New Year!!! 2025 is gonna be a great year. May you and your family have the best year yet.
Jim needs his own "spin-off" channel for sure! I see 1,000,000 subscribers in his future! I also see a bright future for him in the Comic Collector of the year award... I would be sure to get him a case of MooseHead if he wins! 😆 They need some GR Red bands; that would be awesome! Ketch didn't sell his soul; but for some reason he was blessed with the cooler of the two outfits and powers (and joined the FF) LOL! No new year promises for me... I am a lost cause. I am hoping to find a "Double R hat" at the local Wal-Mart though... It appears they keep selling out though. 😉 Happy New Year brother. Don't drink and drive unless you sell your soul first for some flaming head super powers! 💀🔥 LOL
Well, I will have to talk to Jim about his own show. I can't believe your Walmart is out again. These hats must be flying off the shelf. I will make sure you get one, though. I'm actually bartending tonight, so I won't be enjoying to many cocktails. I wish you and your family a safe and happy new year. Thank you for everything you are doing for the community. I think we all can expect great things this year.
Shout out to the RUclips comic book community. As one of Jason's everyday friends and a big comic book nerd myself, I have to give kudos and thank you to all the creators Jason named and many more. I am not real familiar with many of the channels and the whole RUclips comic community (yet), but it is really amazing to see how excited Jason is, how much be enjoys this, and most of all how happy he is making all these new friends. So thank you from me to each and every one one of you who have interacted with Jason and his channel, have had him on as a guest, and have built friendships with him. It's really awesome to see him become a part of your community and the joy it brings him. It's so cool to see such positivity and kindness in this day and age. Thank you all for being rockstars and caring about and building relationships with your fellow readers/collectors/creators/community members.
Thanks, Buddy.
Great comments about the comic people out there. You can tell that you are enthusiastic about Ghost Rider and that's what people enjoy. What a cool gift from Hagen . We watch many of the same channels. It is not always about grail books, it's the grail people. Everyone has their own style of doing this. I just try to educate and entertain people. People usually talk about stuff they like. It's funny how many of these people remind me of people from different parts of my life. Being positive is important because like you said people have enough negative things they deal with, and if a little paper book can make us happy and we share it with others we did a good thing
I have found some many great channels from watching just a few. The core group I follow has brought me to your channel and several others. I like to think of this community growing and almost becoming a second family. Sounds corny, but i look forward to everybodys success and sometimes failures. Like you said not about the grails butthe journey and who we meet along the way.
Awesome art. Have a Happy New Year. The comic community is awesome. Stevie D channel is awesome. I started out watching jacobs comics.
Merry Christmas, Jason! I hope you're having a great holiday season.
@@Bel_Izeard I am my friend. I hope you are as well. Merry Christmas 🎅
Thanks for the shoutout! It's much appreciated! Both Mike from Lunch Money Comics and Nate from Haul Yeah Comics were two of my major inspirations for starting my own channel. Also, Ricky from All Sorts of Words and Hagan from Lettuce Comics! I'd like to add my own shoutout for Gotham&Glam!
@@Bel_Izeard I subbed her a while back. Have to add her to the list.
Merry Christmas, Jason! I do appreciate the shout-out. More than that, though, I appreciate your friendship. Getting to meet fellow collectors and just hang out and talk nerd stuff is so cool and definitely the best part of this whole RUclips thing. This was a great video, man. You're speaking from the heart and that's just so cool. I hope you get to relax some this holiday season and enjoy some good books!
It means a lot to me, to hear that. Merry Christmas!
Awesome detective work brother! Love that you and your friends do a "guys Christmas"; really enjoyed the books they got you; Awesome! I really loved the ASM #134, to be honest though, at that time as a kid when I bought one, I was more stoked over the Tarantula, I thought he was a cool character with his pointy boots! LOL Comic pick ups were cool as well! Awwww, super cute gift from Lettuce! You can hang that from your Ghost Rider Tree! 🤗 I always like your books, but I like your "Conversations to the viewers via your camera" even more!. Feels like you're talking to everyone directly. Thank you for the kind words as well; I sure wish we could "Gift" our subs to someone else; I for sure would send all of mine to Stevey D, he's a sweet heart! Have a great Christmas double R! Looking forward to more of your content as always!
Thanks, I am not Batman with the detective work, but I did o.k. lol. My friends and I have always had a guys Christmas getting harder to find time, but we make it work. I hope you and your family have a fantastic holiday. Much love, brother.
@@Renegaderantscomics You as well!!!!
Awesome aok from Crom.
Comics are indeed a great escape. Sometimes you just need a good story where good triumphs evil.
Yes, we do. But are you referring to my ex?
Glad you didn't have a couple of them brother! That black cover "Ghost Rider", is actually an issue of "Marvel Comics Presents", GR was just the star of that one issue. Lastly, the Original art Is Signed... It's the little *"M" in the box* on the bottom right of the drawing. I just for the life of me, do not remember who did signatures that way LOL. It's a _Hellish Mystery_ for you to solve. 😉 I wish I had more obscure GR stuff for you, but just consider this a consolation prize for doing so darn well in the Comic Collector of the Year Tournament. I am sure you will back stronger than ever next year!!😁😁
@SonOfCrom-1932 I appreciate it. I noticed the M after I recorded. I shall scooby doo this mystery for sure. Thank you again. Final 4 looks like it's heating up. Be well, sir.
@@Renegaderantscomics Will do brother!
Great video. Very cool stuff, great gesture Son of Crom.
@@hartigan76 Thank you Hartigan! 🤗
@SonOfCrom-1932 the artist is Matthew Clark, I sat up at 3 am because I know that belt in the drawing. It's from the Rob Williams series from 2012. Then, he followed Matthew Clark on instagram to find he's having medical issues and a go fund me so donated.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas, Renegade! That Ghost Rider and sleigh cover is amazing!!
Thanks, Merry Christmas 🎅
Thanks for the shoutout, Renegade! It's greatly appreciated! Son of Crom's contest is a fun concept. Of course, West Coast DAVEvengers beat me in round 2. Heh. 😉 It was fun to be included, regardless. 😁 I completely agree about comic books being an escape. This was true for me when I was a kid. The same is true for me regarding Dungeons and Dragons. I'm still a diehard gamer. For comic books, my interests as an adult has been more sporadic, but after I started watching comic book RUclips, I've begun collecting once again. Even more so than before. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas 🎅. I have a lot of friends trying to get me into D and D. I have not jumped down that rabbit hole yet, lol. I'm glad you have started collecting again. I can't wait to see what 2025 has in store.
Good job on your haul, and putting out the "Vote for me" message! I hope you get your package soon (did I send you the tracking number)? The contest is more work than I thought it would be, but I am having fun doing it! It is also exciting to watch the lead flip flop between the top 8. It's still anyone's to win. So best wishes to you and the whole final 8. I get off at 3 pm normally,... so anytime after that the voting could close. Good Luck Brother! Loved your message about comics, and the blissful escape the world they present can offer.... we are never too old to enjoy a comic book. Spot On perspective from my point of view. Happy Holidays Double R!
You did send me the tracking numbers. They should be here Thursday. I am sure the contest is work. I really appreciate all you have done for the community. Happy Holliday to you and your family.
This contest was a great way to get creators' names out there. I am not a big content watcher but it is broadening my horizons.
@@hartigan76 😁😁😁
Great video! I think the way to go for me would be to scale back on new monthly books AND sell off parts of my collection that I no longer have an attachment towards to fund a bigger book (ASM 300 in my case). The hard part honestly is DISCIPLINE. There’s a thrill to get new books weekly or score a stack of $1 comics that I’d actively have to fight against and remind myself to value quality over quantity. Clearly I’ve pondered over similar questions and I want to wish you the best of luck to whatever your 2025 collecting goals you land on!
It is definitely a struggle, but you are on the right track with quality over quantity! Now, trying to keep myself under control. That's the hard part, lol.
Good luck on your 2025 goals. Would love to see you get a full Spotlight run of Ghost Rider's. I am glad I got mine back in the 90's for cheap.
@@TJ-pk3wl You have no idea how much I kick myself for not picking these up back then lol
I will trade a GR goodie for you! All you have to do is reach out to me. 😁 Hope you reach your spotlight goals, I have never even read those issues, so excited to see you get them. I am selling stuff on Ebay, just to make room LOL, plus, focusing more on 70's books or older now. I will let you know that selling on Ebay is super slow for new sellers (IMO). I had a couple of big things sell right away, but all the little stuff just sits there. I just need more space, so I will be adding everything I can think of to get rid of (like cheerio boxes with NASCAR hotwheel included, and junk like that)! I will try selling for a few months, but eventually I will just take them to the goodwill, or throw stuff away. LOL Trading can be fun; *IF* the person trading with you is giving you a fair deal; but, not if they are a "used car salesman" in disguise! 😆Good luck brother, reach out to me please.
@SonOfCrom-1932 Sure thing, what's best your email?
@@Renegaderantscomics when you go to anyone's home page, there is a part at the top that says; learn more... or about... (I don't remember which. But you can find it there. 😁
@@Renegaderantscomics Oh, I found it. It just says: *....MORE*
Cool Stuff 😎- Thanks for the Shout out
@bigbymcflythecomicguy You're welcome. Your art is amazing. Thanks again for the personalization.
@Renegaderantscomics My pleasure!
Should be 2 pieces in the sleeve
Wow, I missed that. Thank you.
@Renegaderantscomics 😀
I was a run collector until I finished Cap and Ironman. Now that I have done that. I just buy what appeals to me. Dollar bin diver, cover collector, limited series is cool because you can feel like you explored the character and finished a story. I collected the Midnight Sons last year. Have not read but a few. No slabs in the collection.
@stevedriskell59 Congratulations on completing those runs. I worry that some new folks in the hobby dont get to experience some things we did. Mostly for the better. Like looking at a rack and finding a book that changes your life or speaks to you.
I think we're all a combination of the types you outlined and can even dip in and out of them. I'm a reader first, then a run collector, and probably 5% cover buyer although I think I'm dropping that last part as it's not as fulfilling picking up a comic I don't actual enjoy the interior of the book.
Congratulations on completing your Ghost Rider run!!
Damn! Your killin' me man. I had to go look and see what I had of Vol. 2........1-17 so, evidently I quit collecting around Sep./Oct of 91 - thought it was later than that. I had no idea those last few issues were so hard to find. I guess I know what books I will be concentrating on getting now will be. Thanks for the info. I appreciate it!
@TJ-pk3wl welcome trust me was a process finding the last few.
Before I quit collecting in the mid- 90's I was a character completionist collector. That was the reason I quit......as you know if you collected Wolverine, Ghost Rider, and Punisher (which I did)......you basically had to buy every book Marvel put out. I got burned out and quit and started back collecting a couple years ago (Thankfully I never sold my collection). Now I'm not sure what kind of collector today. I do know I'm not a fan of modern books though.
I know the burnout. Unfortunately, I did let my original collection go. I have completed GR Vol 1 and 2 punisher mini series and vol 1 but need to complete vol 1 war journal, war zone
Great video. you brought back some great memories with this one.....buying Wolverine L.S. #4 off the rack, ordering comics from Mile High & Lone Star Comics. Those were the good 'ol days!
@TJ-pk3wl Thanks. I miss the random choices we had. Like what books could there be? No issue 1. Here are 49 variant covers, lol.
Awesome ❤❤❤
@@bigbymcflythecomicguy loved the stickers
Tex is my favorite GR artist. 15 is iconic and still holds up well today even if it didn't glow in the dark.
If you ever get a chance, watch sin and salvation it's a look at Ghost Rider through the years Tex is awesome on it.
@ thanks we’ll check it out
Sweeettt #1!!! I hope you have a reader copy as well! I LOVE all those damn 90's cool covers!! I also enjoyed how Marvel made even issue #25 a "milestone" back in the 90's! LOL Ghost Rider (at least I felt), was the most popular character at Marvel for a while there in the 90's, or at least comparable to Logan. Dang! After watching the whole video, you are making me want to collect that run too!😆😆😆 Really enjoyed the video, thanks for doing this! BTW, I have no new GR books... I did buy the 1st issue of the one with the car when it came out....but after I threw up in my mouth, I never kept buying it. 🤣🤣
The slab is a comic capsule, so I can take it out and read it. Lol, it's a lower grade anyway. Trust me the Robbie Reyes is not my GR, lol. Let me know if you do start collecting GR. I have several duplicates I'd send you. Hope you are well, my friend.
I had to watch this one for sure! Love that index, that SOB is sweeeettttt! Key collectors sound awesome, but you probably need a smart phone, huh? lol Enjoyed seeing all those old GR again. I fondly remember them from my youth, and loved issue #50. I had it pinned to my wall for a while with a thumb tack! LOL It wasn't through the book though, just the plastic bag (don't think they had boards that I knew of back then). Looking forward to whenever you are going to do part 2! Bring on Danny!!!!
@SonOfCrom-1932 it's definitely in the works. Took me forever to track down 94 from 2007. The series ended in 98 with Cliffhanger 93 Ugg. I didn't even realize bags and boards were a thing. Luckily, the books that I lost or got damaged were mostly fluff.
You had me at DC! Loved the Winnick run of the Outsiders in the early 2000's. I've always wanted to check out these later runs. Just so many characters I like a lot. Especially Metamorpho. Good luck at the dentist, bro. My hell with wisdom teeth and braces makes me very sympathetic.
I'm very behind on my reading. Thanks for showcasing those Outsiders books. It's a team I'm very interested in reading. I have some of the original Batman and the Outsiders series. I want to try to get all the first 12.
@Bel_Izeard I feel the minute you start doing you tube your reading time diminishes lol.
You are a hero if you read all those random DC. Can't get near a book with the Outsiders.... I am still butt hurt that they are what DC cancelled the original Brave and the Bold for. Have never read Nightwing either... Still can't get the image of Robin all those years (sorry, one of the few people that don't like the Robin character(s)... I know, minority here). Now the Punisher game, I would love to play that. Left to Right scrolling videos were the best!! Hey Jason.... I think your spot on with your Raj take... would have loved that character to be around longer (and more accurate of course). I was on the heroes for heroes for a short while, but you "youngin's" stay up too late for this old fart! LOL But my whole life is taking care of Vet's and their families... it's my actual job, that I love doing everyday! We like to call it; "Serving those who Served". Have a great day... hopefully you get that kind little dentist from the Rudolph cartoon I remember from years ago... loved that little guy!
They yanked 2 wisdom teeth and a broken tooth. Fit in around the place, Hockey Town, lol. We hit our goal and then some. It's so great that you can help take care of vets. Your service never ends. I feel especially strong about it. I live just outside of Fort Drum, NY, so a lot of friends and family have served. We shall see how the reading goes. As always, thank you for your comment and watching. Have a great day, my friend.
@@Renegaderantscomics You too RRC! Never got stationed at Fort Drum; but my "best friend war buddy" was born in Waterstown (or something like that) in upstate. He lives in Buffalo now I believe. See you next video; sorry to hear about the wisdom teeth.... ouch!
I'm starting to collect a lot of English manga that was published in the 80s and 90s. A lot of those books tend to languish in $1 bins, so I pickup issues here and there, usually based on the covers.
@Bel_Izeard never got into Manga. But glad you can find it cheap lol.
@@Renegaderantscomics It started with watching tons of anime on Netflix. Heh.
@Bel_Izeard lol yep used to watch cowboy bebop on adult swim
I'm a reader first. I don't buy it if I don't want to at least give it a read. Next, I'm a run collector. There are series I just want to see complete...but again for reading. Last, I'm an archivist. If there's something weird, odd, out there...I want it. I want to keep it and let people know about it. All that said. I still collect modern books and definitely get caught up in the FOMO. No question, I can be an idiot at times.
@@HaulYeahComics I like the archivist aspect. My goal is to get caught up reading. Just need to put in the time. Thanks for the response.
I’m a reader first … but I love to collect historical old books like PRECODE horror.
@dope_comix4455 that's awesome, you do a lot of thrift stores etc?
Awesome shirt brother. 👊
@dope_comix4455 thanks took forever to find that lol
I'll be there! 😊
Awesome memories! …. Nice meeting you on Nate’s channel last night.
@dope_comix4455 Thanks, nice meeting you as well. Loved the books you brought. Hopefully, we can meet up again.
I love this short video! I am so feeling everything you stated in this video. It was the same in the 70's as well. I want a spinner rack so bad LOL! I still have vivid memories of picking great comics off the rack like my first Avengers (115), my first Batman (251), my first Marvel Team up (14), and grails like Hulk (181) and GSXM, etc etc etc. I also remember not paying taxes on comics and being able to get 5 for one dollar. Gosh, if I could go back in time, I would have bought every issue on the rack!! 🤩🥰
It was sometimes more fun. Like, what can I get? Now it's what's the best price and condition. Purest form of Comic book love.
@@Renegaderantscomics 100% agree!
VH.. What?
Things that took room of your house to store. Lol
Nice pick ups. I make the pull list mistake too. I often don't add new series to it. I want to check them out first before committing.
Exactly, like the variants. I prefer the main, but then oh, that's cool, and hey, I bought 3 copies of the same damn book lol
