My '24 gasser gets two point less mpg

It appears accidentally wiped off the small O-ring after installing it, and it was in the drain pan. Also, the large O-ring was not properly placed in the groove. It was too high, which was why the oil filter housing was difficult to screw on by hand. Commonmistake as the O-ring can get stuck in the threads or just below the thread, but not quite in the right groove.

I think you have torque converter shudder. Its famous one the 8 speed trans do this body style.

Very nice EXCEPT your propane bottle holder appears to hold the bottle level or slightly pointing the top of the bottle down. That could cause liquid to come out, not the gas. The top of the bottle should be above level.

This may be excessive, but I replaced the housing with the Toyota aluminum version, and I thoroughly clean and dry the housing with Brake Kleen.

So last night I was lifting my truck similar to yours and I didn't realize I pulled the front pin out of my drive shaft so you're saying I can pretty much just Jack the truck up take the four bolts off move it put the pin back in and re bolt it back up and fill up my tranny fluid

If you fill up the oil filter housing with oil before installing it, the engine will build up oil pressure faster. The low pressure warning light goes out much quicker.

Put your access panel on last, ck. for leaks and use a torque wrench for drain plug and filter.

Man ,my old Jeep 4.0 litre you could unscrew the oil filter from on top of the engine bay.....only needed to crawl under vehicle for the drain plug and there was no skid plating in tthat location. I like my 4 runner but.......glad I let a mechanic service it. My days of changing my own oil are over. plus the 4 runner is a royal PITA.

Love your rig. The way its set up is genius. I have an 03 tacoma with a cap and I use it for travel. It's a wedge type cap and it's very comfy to sleep in. Has compartments but will remodel soon.
