If you have experience in 1.e4 and/or don't mind playing against French, than 1.d4-e6 2.e4 could be a reasonable strategy. If you're more of a classical 1.d4 player, then you can meet 1...e6 with 2.c4 and transpose either to QGD or Catalan type structures. Finally, 1.d4-e6 2.Nf3 certainly deserves attention, because you can be flexible with your strategy and not define the pawn structure yet. Well, in most of the professional chess leagues like the German Bundesliga, Spanish Division of Honour, or French Top-12 you know your opponent in advance (about 1.5 hours before the game). It is not much to prepare, but at least you can check some of the main lines and be ready for a few main directions. For instance, I know some pro players ~2650 ELO who decline their participation in a league where your opponent is unknown until the very last minute, exactly due to lack of time for prep. They believe it's unprofessional. I don't mind playing without prep, because I believe that you must be able to navigate your game by having very limited info and adjust your strategy accordingly.
