Public support, through funding and other form of assistance, is critical for biomedical research & development (R&D) and instrumental in allowing innovative health technologies reaching markets and patients. On many occasions such support, economic or in-kind, is decisive in the early stages of R&D of products that are then marketed by companies for extortionate prices, generating huge profits...

    looking from a biblical point of view all drugs and doctors and the whole medical profession comes under the same covering as witch doctor , snake poison sales men and alchemy . To force people into taking drugs even if they are scripted is violating their human rights. There are some cases and medical disciplines who think that their patients do not have any human or privacy rights . This not only violates the bible but it violates common law. If you are sick then find your way through it but the doctors waiting rooms are filled with people who were not sick until they took the prescribed medication.

    Ça ne rime a rien d'accabler la nature. Elle était la avant nous. Nous ne devons plus éradiquer une espèce pour vivre chez elle. C'est à l'homme de s'adapter aux animaux qui l'environnent. Y compris les chiens et chats. Les gens se font mordre mais ils ont tout fait pour pousser la bête à bout.

      On peu très bien surprendre un serpent en travaillant dans les champs, en prenant quelques chose posé au sol, sans compter les serpents qui rentrent dans les logements. Comme ce sont des pays chauds, les logements n'ont pas besoin d'être calfeutrés comme chez nous. Dans l'ouest américain, j'ai bien été à deux doigts de poser le pied sur un crotale à deux reprises en cherchant un endroit pour camper à la fin d'une journée de vélo.

    Je ne comprends pas le but de cette vidéo. La manière dont le sujet est traité en parlant de "fléau" renvoie toute la responsabilité sur les serpents. Ceux ci ont toujours existé, si aujourd'hui il y a plus de morsures c'est parce que le territoire de ces serpents a été profondément endommagé par les humains. Certes nous devons faire en sorte que les soins soient disponibles mais surtout éduquer les populations sur comment se comporter avec les serpents, et en aucun chercher a les éliminer. Faire des comparaisons entre le paludisme et les morsures de serpents n'a aucun sens, regardez juste un peu les chiffres du nombre de morts par paludisme (environ 600 000) soit 5 à 6 fois plus que les morsures de serpents.

    • @hekoancien
      @hekoancien 3 года назад

      C'est comme d'habitude, on expose une problématique sans expliquer pourquoi elle existe, et comment vivre avec. Parce que comme vous dîtes les serpents mordeurs peu importe leurs répartitions géographique font parti du décors et il le resteront, du moins j'ose l'espérer. Alors après il y a des accidents inévitable (le risque 0 n'existe pas) mais je pense que tout ça passe avant tout par la prévention et l'éducation des populations exposés a cette problématique. Ce documentaire peu donner l'impression qu'il faut accabler la nature, alors qu'elle prend autant qu'elle apporte. On peut pas tout avoir dans la vie. Toujours moins de territoires pour tout un tas d'animaux, et toujours plus d'humains pour s'étendre, et des problèmes surgissent. Quant au spot publicitaire de fin qui n'a pas lieu d'être, a savoir "La science nous sauvera, c'est trop bien", elle guérie autant qu'elle tue, trop de partialité, aucune objectivité.

    Thanks Peter and Health Action international for this webinar. Formindep hopes that it will inspire other countries to start their own score card and "Pharmfree campaign" as we did in France with the medical students from ANEMF (The French National Medical Student Asscociation). These initiatives are working, so all the best for the people who will try to conduct these great advocacy projects! NB We translated into english the deans' ethical charter which followed our first score card, you can find it here : formindep.fr/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/dean-charter-english.pdf. We think it can be useful to know that the majority of the French medical schools voted this charter, to show that medical schools can adopt these kind of ambitious conflict of interest policies.

    The truthful and crucial lessons Professor Peter Gøtzsche (and other leading research experts like him) teach about the the endemic iatrogenic morbidity and mortality (and deceptive lack of efficacy) of psychiatric drugs, have sadly not been appropriately learned and applied by healthcare policy makers as proven in the following real life current events examples included in my 5/2/18 letter to the editor of the British Medical Journal and 8/16/18 Meidcaid.gov public domain comment which are available for free at the following URL addresses: www.bmj.com/content/356/bmj.j1058/rr-1 public.medicaid.gov/connect.ti/public.comments/showUserAnswers?qid=1897507&voteid=352593&nextURL=%2Fconnect%2Eti%2Fpublic%2Ecomments%2FquestionnaireVotes%3Fqid%3D1897507%26sort%3Drespondent%5F%5FcommonName%26dir%3Dasc%26startrow%3D1%26search%3D Accordingly, please feel free to email these lifesaving public domain comments to your legislators and physicians so they may read and learn from the twelve best-in-class expert witness references (including Dr. Gøtzsche's best-in-class expert witness book "Deadly Psychiatry and Organized Denial") and my ethics teaching included in these public domain documents, and thereby seek to save lives and stop harm from the iatrogenic standards of care of psychiatry. Luckily I have a lot of Doctors in my family. Other than that I have the habit to evade medicine as long as I can. But what is with the people who need to depend on good will? How could people know that blood pressure above 120/80 is not hypertonia if it's treated like an illness? How could people know that more than two weeks of grieving for a lost family member is not depression if it's stated in the dsm-v? It's possible if scientists and doctors don't get corrupted. And here's the problem, pharmaceutical industry has so much power that if they don't buy you, they have other ways to silence you. Just like Mr Gotzsche stated! You couldn't tell them apart from organised crime structures. Waiting for politics to regulate is lost ground, but I honor people like Gotzsche who still have the courage to speak out what they believe, against an enemy so powerful that any resistance is futile. Anyway, I believe we all chose our sides, no matter if the subject is or is not futile. Thank you Mr. Gotzsche!

    We need to educate the doctors before they qualify, to prepare them for the free advertising they will be bombarded with. Journals with glossy pictures of healthy patients and minute unreadable details of possible adverse drug reactons (ADRs). In UK pharmacology has been out of the curriculum since 1992, so the knowledge about pharmaceutical drugs is mainly provided by the industry. Not a healthy situation.
